Clark who wrote it. I can't wrap my head around your argumentation and yes, many Corman productions suck, there's no doubt in that. I still have more respect for them and the man himself as a director and producer then a lot of mainstream mediocrity: he tried every single time and when he succeed he made quite a few cult classics in the process and jumpstarted careers of some of the greatest filmmakers ever.

@Bobo Boy to be fair back then film was actually really expensive as was the time it took to re do the scenes. Also unlike today where you can actually do half decent film editing with a cheap computer and some even cheaper editing software, it was actually really expensive to do more than the most basic chopping and stitching, so B movies often had to get it right in just a couple takes where bigger budget films could afford to keep doing a scene over and over all day (Stanley Kubrick supposedly did some scenes 100 times for example).

@@wugglesx It depends, I love SMTV and after seeing the trailer I was like (Ok, my investment then), I also always have bought Nintendo consoles so to me it was a gonna buy it anyway.
Having 1 big exclusive was great, couple of months later MK8D appeared and Mario Odyssey, with that the console justify it's money and then waiting for more titles and eventually get smtv (It took time), also was hoping for 13 Sentinels Aegis rim to appear on the switch so seems like I got luck this time.
Honestly buying a PS5 now that Sony is releasing their games on PC is like... Welp, I did better build a PC (since I also need something powerful), Xbox series x is also cool but currently there isn't much to play, a year and a half after their launch... Also, most of the games that I want will be on PC so justifying this next gen consoles feels difficult.
Maybe will buy the ps5 when the next VR headset appears, by that time hopefully the ps5 have its slim edition (don't like the current model design) and also get the base price instead of double (or triple) the price.
Sony presented micro led screens that are perfect for VR implementations though, micro-led is expensive as hell, even tiny eye size screens... So might wait for a black Friday release, I will also want to be able to play PS4 VR games on PS5 since the catalog will be tiny otherwise.
I know VR is far from being the ideal (even if the lens are great and the screens are the best, hardware wise, and controllers... Is still too soon for some tech) but that gimmicky is pretty much the only thing that would make me buy one of this new gens consoles, switch and PC are enough for my needs.
      Yet, also... That chip shortage...

Actually, one of the most disturbing things in this film is the fact that when they discover the blonde's nude body, Baylon just incinerates it without even checking to see if she's still alive. I mean she's lying there nude, covered in slime, but she doesn't have any obvious injuries. How did he know that she wasn't just unconscious?

10:20 - "Fetish for this kind of thing..."
Well, it's called "Tentacle Hentai" and Japan dominates it right back to some classic woodcut of an Octopus going down on a fisherman's wife. However, before any of that stuff was released in the states...America First!!!
I've looked into this. It's weird since well the lady in question refused to do it. Imagine "The H-LL I WILL!!!!!" so loud you could hear if from outside the $100Million giant alien pyramid model - woops before Avatar days - as if that very good matt painting was a real model... Proll'y shattered the coffee pot in the break room... So they did use a body double. But she still had to be stripped by the worm and then lie there covered in slime for Freddy Kruger to toast her despite her being visibly breathing, etc.
My fav is that there is "Lost footage" of this film that got a lot more explicit. Lots more bump and grind from the worm and implied though not directly shown insertion - be it on the actress or her double... But that got lost... I imagine in the late 80s Taafe sneaking in and BURNING the full reels after too many scifi fans hassled her at convention wearing giant worm outfits. "Damiaaaaa... We have come for youuuuu...."

@@johnw8578 Well ... could be done with 3d tech actually - but a lot of work to something tied to existing properties Hollow-Wood is still feeding off quite well with Cameron no longer alive to go "Hey, it's the sincerest form of flattery! It's an ad for my work!" so it'd be lawyers. And an older O'Connell likely hitting that "Report" button like mad.
Now there ARE "Live action tentacle Hentai" movies - made in Japan. Just the USA had 'em FIRST! (though Japan had weird 2D tentacle stuff back to 18th century...)
Though it'd be awesome sauce to find said footage - I'd like more to see a modern "B" movie make such a movie and cross the line into XXX stuff but keep the plot - and have live action stuff.

"WTF happened in this movie? What was the point/goal of the bad guy? Is the mustache guy getting the sun head a good thing? A bad thing? Explain movie! And what happened to Robert Englund?"
The entire point of the pyramid was a test by an ancient race of beings to help/force their young transitioning into adulthood to learn how to control their fears. The Master (played by Ray Walston) was essentially the leader of the main character's civilization, who guided it with his Obi-Wanish wisdom, along with a human companion (who you see in the very beginning) to offer a counter perspective (a link to his previous human self).
As the alien race has long since died, the Master uses the pyramid to find his/her replacement, hence the events of the movie, as they were all "set up" by the Master so the crew (which he hand picked for various reasons: some based on intelligence; others based on fighting experience, while others picked for having a tremendous rack, etc) could be tested for their worthiness to replace him.
Thus Edward Albert (or Space Zorro), after facing his own fears, must face and defeat the fears of the rest of the crew, whereupon he replaces Ray Walston as the new Master, with Robert Englund as his human advisor.
