  • Making STAR WARS ORIGINS....
Bring on the directing geekery! In this video I go into detail about why directing is all about preparation and why, for this project, I decided to previz every single shot instead of just the big action/FX sequences.
I show the process of using software such as FrameForge3D and Shotlister - both great tools for a director's prep.
🎥 Follow the making of STAR WARS: ORIGINS, a fan film 'love letter' to Star Wars, Indiana Jones and the action adventure genre. I'm a director of over 100 television commercials and 5 feature films and I'll be documenting the whole experience as I try and make the most ambitious and difficult film I've ever made.
If you'd like an insight into directing, making films and shooting in different countries, practical VFX, casting, working with actors, re-creating classic movie sets and much, much more please SUBSCRIBE to the channel (and hit the bell icon! 🔔) as I'll be adding videos documenting the whole process... warts and all.
Join me on this journey. I may need the moral support!
STAR WARS ORIGINS is a non-profit fan film that is not affiliated to Disney or the Star Wars franchise. A Philm Co / Velvet Films co-production.

I'm a features and commercials director with over 10 years experience working professionally. In that time I've directed five feature films which have been released by Sony Pictures, Lionsgate & Netflix as well as over 100 television commercials. Most notably I wrote and directed the psychological thriller THE LAST SHOWING starring Robert "Freddy Krueger" England in a critically acclaimed role alongside Finn "Iron Fist" Jones. My work has also been praised by the likes of Carrie Fisher, Garry Marshall and Steven Spielberg. Yep, the actual one. Is that enough name dropping for you? :) 😉

@@alsakun Fair point... but it's a very powerful tool that is very reasonably priced. Especially if you're a student. Or download the free trial and have a go!

Alex Di Cuffa Both very useful tools. Can be frustrating learning new software for a shoot but it pays off in the end!

Storyboard for simple/normal scenes, & Pre-viz for complex scenes.
