its so hard to type this out but my cat got diagnosed with this just yesterday. my beautiful ragdoll that i’ve created a bond with for a year, out of nowhere isolated herself for two days. we thought she just wanted to chill upstairs but when i noticed she hadn’t eaten i ran to her under the bed. limp. rushed to the ER. ran tests, but couldn’t do much due to lack of funds. took her to the vet the next day. pulled $600 out my ass & this is what she’s diagnosed with. im crying just typing this because i know what’s coming. i cant stand the idea of letting her go but i know she’s in pain. i love her so much

My cat died suddenly today. He let out this blood curdling scream and collapsed. He twitched a bit and despite doing mouth to mouth resuscitation, he died. He was running around playing and completely normal just an hour before. It was so sudden with no warning signs, but his brother died the same way so I believe its a genetic heart disease that caused it 😢

I thought my cats are like dogs when they were breathing with open mouth and thought it was cute… until my cat got a poisoning and I took him to the vet and doctor said that my 11 month old cat had HCM that already progressed to CHF and my cat has about one year to live! Then I looked back on the videos of my cat couple months earlier and saw a breathing of 144 respirations/minute when my cat was relaxed! I never paid attention to it because my cats had otherwise healthy behaviors….watch out for your cats breathing while they’re asleep, it’s should be below 30 respirations a minute

Thank you, my baby girl who is 2 years young was rushed to the emergency vet hospital late last night. One second she was playing the next she was dragging her legs and meowing. We caught it right away and she's being treated but I'm besides myself as they found a heart murmur and the vet told me to be prepared. I can't stop crying for my little furbaby and your video has given me more information and a little hope.

My Cat TJ was dignoised with HCM , his hind legs went and had breathing problems, I rushed him to North Shore Vetratinian Hospital and I feel they did not give him a chance and make the decision to put him down without my permission. I asked to see results but only got a written report after seven/eight times calling the hospital. Yes TJ was diagonised with Advanced HCM but he was still breathing and wagged his tail, when I last saw him, He was not on any oxgine machine . I feel they have been unfair and made a decision without consulting me. I have no one to talk to about this .

Thank you. This is what happened to my cat last night, no use of his hind limbs, panting and screaming. also hind legs were ice cold with blue paw pads. The desition was made to put him to sleep. Miss him like mad. He never showed any sign of ill health. He was cuddled up to be a few hours before, purring. He was an outdoor cat no idea of his breed.

All 3 words that form the disease's name are Greek actually. Not Latin of course. Thank you for the presentation :)

We lost our cat to this dreadful disease one week ago today. He was not even 6 years old. We rescued him in 2012 at the age of 1 1/2 years old. He weighed 3 pounds and was covered in mats and feces from constant diarrhea. He was emaciated and we did not think he would live. We cared for him and had a great cat vet and he was nursed back to somewhat better health. But in November of 2016 we noticed rapid breathing. He saw a cardiologist and was given 4 meds . He had chf, a blood clot, severe scarring, a murmur, and more. We had to say goodbye on January 18th. It was too painful to watch his heart breath at 60 to 70 beats. We worried he would blow his clot. He was a lovable happy boy. We miss him so much

If you love your cat don’t give up and put her to sleep. Take her to the emergency with oxygen and medication and get her the supplement she suggested taurine, ubiquinol, l carnitin, arginine. Show her a lot of care and love and keep the cat away from loud people and other pets! In two weeks or more she could get better and live another few years.

My cat passed away from this last week im totally devastated. I took him to the vets on the sunday as he had a bit of a funny turn so they scanned his abdomen took a blood test listened to his breathing and heart and said they couldnt find anything wrong. The next day he was fine at home then the day after he was breathing rapidly so i rushed him to the vets again and they did an xray or his chest and an ultrasound which showed fluid around the heart and lungs. He was in a critical way and they said the drug to drain fluid isnt working and its coming out of his mouth and they said they couldnt do anymore.vim devastated. Why wasnt this picked up on the sunday when they listened to his heart and lungs?😭
