I’m so sorry for your loss. My son spent six years inside. He lost his grampa who helped me raise him while locked up. He left at 17 cuz he didn’t want to live by my rules. He ran the streets and caught some charges, most were drug related. Of course he had to learn the hard way who his “friends” were once he was locked up. He got sober, and of course I held him down inside. I showed up every week to see him, put money on his books etc. while he was locked up he told me I should listen to this. Not a rap person but Tupac was a brilliant artist and exceptional human being. This song still chokes me up.
This song was not recorded before he died, in fact it got released while he was in prison..from the album “Me Against The World” that made Pac the first rapper in history to debut an album #1 billboard..while sitting in prison!!!

That was 2PAC's stepfather that passed away, but 2PAC's biological father is still alive. 2PAC met Billy Garland after he was shot at quad studios. 2PAC woke up n da hospital and his father was standing over him. 2PAC always thought his father was dead his entire life. They had a relationship b4 he died.
Most people don't know that this song was put into the Library of Congress in Washington DC. Pretty big deal.

Pac's dad is not dead, he's alive today. His mother told him his dad was dead & wouldn't let the father around Pac. After Pac was shot the 1st time his pops showed up & they kept in touch after that. Also Pac was alive during this video but he was locked up

I can’t believe why so many black people don’t know this song… this was popular back in the day in the 90’s in a small tiny ass island in the Pacific.. when I say small it’s only a tiny dot on the world map and yet 2pac was known… I love the reaction tho cause this is a REAL NICE song with so much depth..

Just surfing..it's hard listening to this song. my mom passed while I was hustling and running with the wrong crowd..she kicked me out of the house..I left and didn't look back..I'm grown now..no more jails or prisons..sometimes I wonder if she's proud of me

This song changed my life my mom was amazing but my dad was killed in 94 I felt so bad I wasn't upset I ain't know him. For two years my 10 year old self felt like a bad person. Then this song came out and I was like I'm not the only one who didn't feel for their dad. I wasn't a bad person. I named my son after this man
