Alternate title: two dudes have a drum battle with a bunch of cheap cymbals
The Zultan are definitely a class above the others. I would like to hear comparisons of the various Zultan series.
Working on that !
That way I wouldn't have to buy an entire shipment of cymbals, only to return them :P Oh, and thanks for trying to crash on the ride cymbals. Very important to know if they are "crashable".
So I'm not the only one who thought about ordering a truckload of them just to make up my mind. I still expect to end up with maybe 3 sets for variety since they're so affordable. And I'm now a bass player.
I have to say, after watching this video I purchased the set of zultan cymbals and they are extremely highly quality for the price, they sound just as good live as they do in this video! Thank you thomann for making these!
Where can I purchase them?
MIGUEL ANTONIO CASTRO MEJIA I purchased them off of thomannmusic.com
Genuinely blown away by that Zultan set.
The Zultan and Milleniums blew the other cymbals right out of the water. The Milleniums were _really good_ for their price too.
Ian's sad horrible excuse of a channel yes and they are even b20 , just like the Zultans .🤔
Where can you find zultan cymbals
@@Pro1938ftc3ch thomann
@@tea2920 ALLL LAAAATTTEEE!!!!🤣 nah I'm playing but I already got some other cymbals😂
@@Pro1938ftc3ch lol which ones did you bought
Zbt's are the worst... That was the first set I got, I never could even force myself to use the ride
Zultans sound amazing I was constantly surprised throughout the video at how each new set just wasn’t beating them in terms of sound, great job guys!!
Great video guys! My favourite was Zultan. Best value were Meinl and Millennium. Weakest was Zildjian ZBT, especially the crash.
Yeah I’m choosing Zultan once I get a Gig-Kit build going, great video!
Zultan Rock Beat :17. Zildjian ZBT 4:42. Sabian B8X 9:19. Meinl HCS 15:41. Millennium B20 21:53. Paiste 201 27:41
Zultan = best of!😊
very good video, love the format
Those zultans are worth looking at!! They sound great!!
The ZBT Crash sounds a bit like a splash...
Might just be me but I think 16" crashes are so easy to mess up the sound on that's why I use 18 and 20 inch crashes
Great sound at the price!
I am really estonished by the Millenium ones ! I like their sound
The Zultans are at least one class over the others. They can compete with cymbals that cost more than double the prize. In a blind test I doubt if one can hear a difference between e. g. Zildjian A, Meinl Byzance, Sabian AAs.
I have heard some 200€ crashes from big brands which didn't sound as good as this 16".
Then comes the Milleniums. For 200 € it is fantastic. For rock the hihat is all you need. For my tast the crash and the ride are to washy. But the ride would make an excellent big crash.
A big dissapointment is the Zildjian ZBT Series. Even some of the Meinl HCS (brass) sound better.
You don't get a good set for 300€ from the main brands. There you have to put some 200€ more in to it, to get a decent cymbal set (14" hihats, 16" crash, 20" ride).
I really like all the demos Thomann has done about drum parts. I hope more will come.
definitely more will come! We work 24/7 to bring you the goodies ;)
Damn guys let them cymbals breathe. They sound like crap when you crank em down too tight. I had a set of zbts a while back and they sounded pretty damn good but I barely screw the wingnuts down.
its also bad for the cymbals
It's a matter of preference and the cymbals aren't even cranked down cranked would be no movement everyone likes their shit different
Those Zildjian ZBT's sound like crap! I liked the Sabian B8X Ride and Hi-Hats. The Crash was my least favorite.
NowI'mMe I agree. My school has ZBT and I’m just sick of it at this point. It’s a very pingy crash
you cannot possibly like a b8 hihat
the b8x crash sounds kinda bad cuz its a 16 inch one, i reckon. the 18 inch one doesnt sound bad at all
@@chlum6295 Horrible, indeed.
the sabian b8 pro hihats sound good to
I have one 20'' Meinl HCS crash I bought from Thomann, and I'm pretty happy with it :D
Didn't even know they made those
They’re awful.
The Zultans are amazing
21:46 millennium b20
Man I've never heard of Sultan, and they sound superb!
Man you can get some really nice cymbals on a budget nowadays. I own the Millenium B20 14" Crash, 16" Crash and 16" China which is my favourite, would have paid a lot more for that sound. I like Chinas with lots of wash and little gong. The Crashes also have some wash to them, a little undefined, which may throw some players off. But as I play mainly Metal, the somewhat thrashy washiness adds just perfect. I'd love to play that Hihat. But as it isn't sold seperately, I'll go to the Zultan RockBeat. Honestly I've heard and played Hihats that cost alot more than the whole B20 set and sound not as good.
The Millenium ride is more a crash/ride than a real ride. Anyway the best cheap crash: Dimavery DBEC (regular).
Tommi's really good!👍
Rockbeat Ride is NIce and the total image of hihat and crash is Very nice!!Meinl has a nice offer but the sound isn't so good it seems too cheap.Sabians are bright but is No for me for the detail of low volume.Zildjians are bad. Millenium as surprise is an unbelievable nice set with nice and crispy close and open sound of hats, great sounding ride and only crash is NO for me but the set that beats straight as far better of Zildjians and close to Paiste Alpha series sounding!!For 199 euros i think is the best set!!Paiste 201 crash is nice, hihat it sucks and ride is nice too but all is for low volume situations.Nice review guys!!
Zultan cymbals .......sounding nice🤘🤘
Millenium sounds very good for old rock’n roll and blues music i think!! Best and cheapest?!
for me there's no one better over other ... I like hi-hat and crash zultan, ride millenium, china and trash-crash meinl .. it can mix them and test a cheap set, but that sounds extraordinary well.. sorry for my english
That millennium ride has less bell sound but it sounds great crash!
Personally what do you guys think of the meinl hcs set because I think most of the cymbals except with the china, ride and trash are not the best sounding.
There are a big range of zultan cymbals which ones are played in the video pls
on the website you can get the millenium for $90!
B20 sounds best :) The millenium ride would make a great crash in my setup, he millenum 16" sounded dull to me.. Zultans sounded best overall.
Man those Zultan and Millenium sets were just so far above, it was actually nice to have the other ones in the video to help accentuate how nice the Zultan and Millenium sets sound. The Meinls are the best value for an entry level drummer since it comes with double the amount of cymbals, they just sound so bad. Would have loved to see the Zultan and Millenium sets compared to Wuhans. In my opinion, Wuhan is the top dog for affordable cymbals, but after hearing these other sets, it's hard to tell when they aren't compared by the same people in the same set of circumstances regarding room, mics, etc.
Gotta go with the consensus...the Zultan's are just head and shoulders above the rest. A tonal balance quite similar to Zildjian A Customs.
The other sets were very hit or miss. I liked the Paiste hats.
I know NOTHING about cymbals but I know what my ears like and I am with you
//Andy
I’m definitely buying the zultans Q Series
Those sultan cymbals sound phenomenal!!!! Are they available in the US??
They're Thomann exclusive, so they'd have to be imported to your order. I'm in the UK, so unfortunately I don't know how much that would cost, but I've been using them for years, and they sound amazing
T Drums for president
I would like to have a set of those Milleniums to try them.
I own the 14" Crash, 16" Crash and 16" China. Go for it. You cannot go wrong for this price. I mean the worst feeling is when a beloved crash gets a crack. Well, get a new one for 60€. And they sound nice. Typical B20 sound with some rather undefined wash. If you play, say Jazz or Funk, this washiness may not be helpfull, but for Rock or Metal, it really has something to it.
The first Zultan set sounds good, The millenium set - pretty decent.
I’m going to be honest, I love the 16” 201...
Hi does anyone know a good upgrade from the paiste pst 5s that are not too expensive so less than 650
Paiste pst7
please link to that dB meter
Hey thomann Music !! greetings from colombia !!! how can i buy a set of zultan cymbals and shipped to colombia ??? pls i need to know, im in love with those
Search them on Thomann UK and you can buy them. There's also a shipping option
zultan hihat and crash, and the millenium b20 crash/ride.
Zultans sound great
Zultan Aja Cymbals all around!
the Wuhan western rock style probs top all of these but I cant find them
Western traditional thins are beastly too.
Zultan!
do that zultan ship to the philippines?
a litte late but did you find a seller here??
When you buy cymbals do they come with the stands or not?
Aidan Hodge no they typically dont
Not.
why tf is the zbt crash so high pitched?
Don't forget the Sonor Armoni...as good as Zultan rockbeat and as cheap.
Im gonna get those millenniums, gonna put them into my Garden under the earth and wait for a few days, I love these cymbals, they are perfect for experimenting.
Comparing Cast cymbals to pressed sheet ones in my opinion is the same as comparing a bicycle to a super bike.
For somebody who doesn't know and doesn't understand completely from google-ing it, could you explain the main differences?
Zultan is the best for me - but the Milleniums are incredible value for the price
Like everyone else, I liked the Milllenium cymbals best, followed by the Zultans. However, if I were starting out now, I would probably just deck my kit out with Staggs.
Are you deaf?
Ziltan, millenium, sabian, paiste that interesting low budget sets. HCS Bronze much better than standard version from brass that we have herd now. HCS 🙉
Do u reckon the sultans r better than the paiste pst 5s?
definetely. Pst are cheap b8, zultans are b20-bronze. You just pay for the paiste-logo!
Check out sultan aja, they are cheap as hell and they sound like avedis.
Zultan Raw is like Meinl Byzance dark
Zultans hands down. I think Wuhans are actually pretty nice too, though they weren't on here.
Lawwdy those ZBTs sound like garbage. They were my first set. When I started recording at home I realized how truly cruddy they are. After a couple hits on the ride it just turns into a wash of unpleasant overtones. Pretty much the same for the Sabians. I wasn't a huge fan of the Milleniums. Hats were too high pitched for me and the crash sounded poopy. The ride was not bad though. That said, I liked them way better than the zildjians and sabians.
I play the Zultan Rock Beat (Pro = plus 18'' crash) and I'm looking for a pair of extra hi-hats. Seems hard to get a better deal than the Millenium B20 presented here. For less than 200 € you'll get a good hi-hat and "as a bonus" the crash and the (crash-)ride. You don't care about the brand? Go for the Millenium then.
“Yea. I agree.”
You should write a script in advance. Great demo, thanks!
Leyen Sento agree they said the same thing about all of them
zultan are the best!!!!!!!
Zultan очень интересные!
Millenium and zultan
❤ZULTAN!❤
I'm a zultan convert. For the price they are just too good.
zultan was the best sounding.
Ich wusste nicht, dass Zultan eine Hausmarke von Thomann ist.
Hey guys stop choking the shit out the cymbals. By loosing the nut the cymbals can breathe and we can hear what they really sound like.
I bought Meinl HCS 13 years ago. They used to be the best beginner cymbals but compared to the Zultans they are still pretty bad.
Zultan
Those milleniums are pure gold for the price, or should i say pure B20 bronze
20 zultan ride would make a great crash
Zultans sounded the best but if I were to mix match them I would probably do b8x hats, zbt ride, and paiste crash
Zultan is the best. Zildjians are awful, and the Sabians were alright. Since I'm in the U.S. I'm going to buy the B8X.
Though the Meinls are brass they still sound better than everything on here besides the Zultans. Everything else sounds pretty awful.
Sabian b8x or paiste 201???
Sabian
Paiste ftw
Paiste
Zultan wins here, but those ugly 201’s sound pretty damn decent as well. That 16” crash especially
The Meinls are a severe disappointment. No sustain at all!
I don't know why they used Meinl HCS instead of MCS, HCS are brass and under 200 Euros while MCS are bronze and around 300 Euros.
IRLguy or classics
Classic customs rock
@@Philipp.of.Swabia Classics are not really "low cost"
AspePik yeah, they are right before the middle range
zultan is the best its b20
Jb Cool Kid Millenium is also B20 as the Name says.
But look up the Zildjan S Series.
THEY HAVE FREAKIN‘ Perfect Crashes and BUT they are B12.
So don’t buy a Cymbal just because of it’s Alloy.
Just hear how it sounds.
As always on every product in General no matter how expensive it is and what Specs it has it always comes down on how the product is in real life not on the paper.
wuhan?
I mean their traditional or western cymbals are the only good ones. The 457 crash is 80% there.
don't overtight the symbols let them be a little bit loose
overtighten* this is not motorsport were they OVERTAKE. Oh, and since i feel cocky here, its CYMBALS...
Jesus, ZBTs sound absolutely terrible. The older ones were bad, but not THAT bad. Zildjian just has no idea how to work with B8.
And what about Zildjian Planet Z and Zildjian S series? You miss them.
wuhan rock. like under $100 us bro
wuhan cymbals are not available in europe
@@sfsf5555 it is in America
@@electromuff7870 but thomann is in europe
Clorox Bleach You can buy them just on Amazon?
Title of the video should’ve been how to not let your cymbals breathe, and the quickest way to break them!
To me it's Zultan >>>>> Millenium >> Sabian = Zildjian > Paiste >>>> Meinl
You have those cymbals tight enough jeez?!! This could've been a decent long living comparison vid, if you didn't choke out the cymbals. Yeah I know this video is 4 years old,.
No favorites here. They all sound like cheap cymbals. But Zildjian is probably the worst here and Millenium - is the nicest one
I need a comprehensive crash/ride demo not a ride only demo....great review but crash the fucking ride bro ! 😳🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🧐
Millenium the best..? Jajajaja
they picked the two most awkward ppl at all of thomann to do a half-hour video together
32 minutes for a video, that could've been reduced to 5 or 6 minutes...
