About being friends and saying things publicly to each other:
The late Moin Akhtar was invited on Bushra Ansari's Sunday TV show where he kept addressing her as AAP. When Bushra Ansari objected, he said privately he can talk to her however they want but in public he must be polite & gentlemanly. How he treats her, public will follow him.
Same with Imran Abbas, knowingly or unknowingly, he has started a debate about Sanam's weight. Because he wasn't careful with his words

A potential problem for TMK could be the merging of one story to the next one. In anthologies (movies) we sometimes see the camera shifts to new characters who are probably present on the same location but are independent of the previous story and from there that story begins. Or a narration throughout the movie could do too. But the cut of one story and then another one begins would disrupt the entire world the audience likes to create while entering a movie hall. Also since the makers’ names are all too big im sure people would draw comparisons as to which one was the best and that makes me skeptical in terms of the audience perceiving it as a whole movie. These are assumptions ofc. Knowing the economic conditions this was probably wise and the crew probably knows what they are doing for sure.

And especially the dramas they’ve done of this list were true masterpieces. So my expectations are sky high for that part of the film, plus the execution seems old school which is always a treat to watch.

I think you're right but also this needs to come from the party being policed. I don't think Imran Abbas would have said anything about Sanam Jung's weight had she always put that boundary between them.
My guy friends know not to speak to me about certain subjects and heck as a Muslim they know I'm not going to give them hugs. They don't ever encroach those boundaries because I've put them in place firmly.
So I think it's a wider issue that needs to be addressed by both men and women, which is to not speak about weight whether or not someone allows you to. It just comes off as indecent and humiliating.

If Wahaj Ali or Yumna Zaidi or Sabina Farooq and others are offended by the criticism of the drama Tere Bin, then I personally apologize to them because I am one of the biggest critics of this drama. As a senior citizen, I consider them as my own children, I love them immensely. They should just understand that if we criticize the drama, we do criticize the story and characters of the play, we don't bring the actors in the middle, we praise their acting. I never paid attention to which actor is playing which role. If I criticize Mirza Hadi Ruswa's character "Amrao Jaan Ada," it is not a criticism of actress Rekha. Amrao Jaan Aada is a literary classic work, which has nothing to do with Bollywood.

There’s many extents of feminism. Some people chose to agree to certain things and not other and therefore may feel they don’t whole heartedly accept the concept.
There are some women who want “equal” pay at work but they don’t want “equal” role in marriage where they also act as “protector” in the marriage- in a instance where there would be a thief in the home- will they rush to protect and fight equally as they would expect their husbands to do?
Many feminists pick and chose where they want equality!

Aamna is right Hira has screen presence and uninhibited body language which Mehwish, Saba, Maya and Mahira have and which is required for the big screen. Definitely looking forward to Teri Meri Kahaniyan but unfortunately it wont be releasing abroad. I hope we are able to see it on youtube, after its theatrical release. Ramsha I felt stiff in the dance sequence clip, but lets see how she does that once the movie releases. Its hard to go wrong with KRQ dialogues, they are simply solid and when performed by Wahaj and Mehwish, and directed by Nadeem Baig, they would leave a lasting impression. The film looks very promising.

I disagree with Hasan that when you say I am not a feminist you disagree with Islam . The concepts of feminism and secularism as used are actually not in cognisance with our faith.
Islam believes in tolerance and women’s rights both .

Nazish Jehangir: First of all divorces are not increasing because of women march but because of financial independence. Many of women from previous generation didn't quit because of financial dependency, they knew it very well that what is happening to them is not right but they have no other option.
2ndly Feminism is a concept. Actions of any person believing in it or calling himself/herself feminist doesn't define it. It is beyond that. Feminism defines actions, actions of a feminist don't define Feminism. So even if I disagree with Iffat Omer or people like her, I can't say I disagree with feminism.

I think it’s an era of liberal extremism. People take things from one extreme to another. Since women have faced such harsh treatment that the retaliation is taking it to another extreme. Balance is very important. So I am not sure why people need to label themselves feminists or any other thing as a matter of fact. Believe in logic and always try to be on the right path.

    Dear Hassan,
With due respect, women’s rights/workers rights/war prisoners rights/neighbors rights etc are all interwoven in Islam.
However we can’t say “ feminism “ is a concept of Islam because most thing feminism speaks about are infact haram
Feminism gives women rights to have sex with multiple men out of wedlock, feminism gives women rights to have kids out of wedlock, feminism gives women rights to dress immodestly.
All of feminism comprises of “ mera jism Meru marzee”
Feminism and other isms invented by people are not in accordance to our faith. It’s Allah’s laws that if we strive we can create an ideal society .
Thank you if you read this.

I believe that the urge of going to cinema also varies according to the demographics of a region. I live in Canada, and people here are willing to watch even the shittiest movies, just for the sake of the cinema going experience. This is the post-pandemic effect on our society. I went to watch little mermaid with my friends, we’re all between the age 21-25 and we were just there to roast the movie, pass comments (not in a disrespectful way), and compare it to the classic. We enjoyed the songs, the popcorn and the arcade, that’s all we were there for! If these were pre-covid times, I would’ve never gone to watch it.

Everyone is okay fat shaming until they themselves become overweight. Same goes for thin shaming. When they themselves are in the thin Or fat person's shoes, they become preachy, tab tak sab chalta hai. Ofcourse, there are exceptions always. Being fit is important and everyone has their own share of struggles. Also, there are better things to say to someone going to US or in general, than talk of their weight, size, shape, color etc. People are already aware of their physical attributes that don't fit conventional beauty standards, no one needs to tell them over and over again. These were my 2 cents. Also, if my friend keeps talking about my weight, I will not spare them as well as such mindsets (for the lack of a better word) should be fixed at home first rather than preaching the world.

Saying that one doesn't agree with feminism is like saying that I don't agree with human rights. Feminism is different for different women. For a woman from the village, it may be the right to get her daughter educated, for a working woman from the city it may mean equal contribution in household work from her husband, for a man it may mean equal rights over his children. People need to understand that. Everyone deserves feminism. Even the woman that you feel have everything, have to deal with discrimination.
