Wahaj and Yumna are nailing it ✨ but if you're trying to find something deep and unconventional - then no one's forcing anyone to watch it. Tere bin: I don't know how much this trope has been used in Pak dramas but this trope has been over over over used in Indian dramas. Same thing two head strong lead characters, poles apart, different thinking, different ideologies, opposite attracts saga, boy being a bit conservative, girl is outgoing, their ideologies clashes, forced into marriage, keeps bantering, falls in love, happy marriage for a moment and then an ex lover of male or female lead comes in the way. There is a dozen of this kind of indian dramas. I stopped watching Indin dramas just because it was this same trope everywhere or family politics and continued watching only k-drama, Turkish dramas, pak dramas, netflix and Amazon. Now I understand why people in comments used to say that pak dramas are turning into Indian dramas. I turned towards pak dramas and now they are also coming with same thing.

To be honest Meerub's (Tere bin) birthday party attire didn't look that bad. Aamna said it correctly that it was western made in Hyderabad and I actually liked it. Why can't there be a decent fusion of western and eastern. Why if it's western it has to be those bold bright colors with a bit of skin show and absolutely arbitrary and weird designing. Why can't we add decentness to it and make it look more reasonable.

Tere bin despite how OTT it was, was a very entertaining watch. I think meerab being raised by waqas has something to do with the enmity the khans have with the maliks. Why did Mahmood aslam's dead brother transfer the land to the khans? Perhaps bhabi begum gave meerub to waqas to keep her safe from the maliks. The teasers show murtasim retrieving meerab from somewhere so I have a feeling that that whole dushmani will play a big part in the story. It'll be very interesting to watch if that's the case and it's not just a fluff story

I was really excited to hear your review on Tere Bin!!
Just thought I’d share my review & also my thoughts on some of the comparisons that I’ve read online to dramas like Khaani, KTK, Ishq Hai, Deewangi etc. (Its a bit long haha but I hope Aamna & Hassan have a read, would love your thoughts!)
    Here’s what I liked:
    1. Firstly, I actually really like Murtasim’s character & the way its been written. In just the opening two episodes its been established he isn’t actually your cliche “toxic” male lead that we have seen in the form of Shamsheer & Mir Hadi etc. It has been shown in suttle ways that he has positive traits when he stands up for his farmer & also inquires about the maid’s injuries - that surprised me and I liked it that despite being arrogant & rude, Murtaism has a side to him which is about standing up for his people despite them being from a lower class to him.
    2. No “love at first sight” (which has been v common in recent drama’s) and no “hero falling obsessively in love with the female heroine”. Usually if we see a drama like this as (Khaani, KTK, Deewangi) they have all seen the male lead just take one look at the female character and just fall for them and then they obsessively cherish & pursue them. This is what makes them so toxic. But we don’t see that in this plot which I really like! In fact, its quite different - both lead characters come from different backgrounds & traditions and are being forced for different reasons to marry each other.
    3. Meerab’s Character - finally not a “dari sehmiwi” larki on our screens but someone who is brave & outspoken and also fiesty! We know for a fact she may accept the marriage but will not tolerate any injustice and will actually not be a typical “bechari” that we see in our shows. That was refreshing to watch!
    4. The cast: No doubt Wahaj is my favourite actor and finally seeing him in a lead role is great! But I think hes played Murtasim very well - it was a v powerful performance. Not just his acting - the body language, expressions etc but also the whole wardrobe & appearance. I haven’t seen Wahaj in such a role before so it’s definitely good to see him testing his acting capabilities & trying something different. Wahaj has proven you don’t need to shout & scream at the top of your lungs to show your anger - it can be done in suttle and more reasonable ways! I also think Yumna is a great actress - found her acting a little childish & OTT at the start but really improved when she takes a stand for herself. Also Bushra Ansari, Fazila Qazi, Farhan Ali Agha etc - just great to see them in different roles after some time esp Bushra Ansari!
    5. Production value is high & the cinematography is quality which does make it enjoyable to watch!
A few things I didn’t like… agree with Aamna on Haya’s character! Sabeena Farooq’s character was highly irritating & unnecessary. The one-sided obsessive love is highly annoying! I ageee on the observations about Yumna’s acting in the first two episodes - hopefully it will improve as it does come across a little out of place & not so natural. Sometimes the slow-mo’s & the exaggerated dramatic effects can come across quite unnecessary but I guess that’s just GEO 😂 so I’m use to it!
Overall: I loved the first two episodes, really hooked to see Murtasim & Meerab’s clash & journey which I think will be totally be the highlight of the drama! Intreged by the story & really hope it stays the way its started - powerful pakced with fab performances! Enjoyable & entertaining.

Yeh Raha dil is one of my favorite dramas of all times. The romance in that drama was off the charts. But Yumna was NOT cool. Infact the scenes where she tries too hard to be cool only highlights her paindooness. The first episode of that drama where her laptop stops working was so OTT and wanna be cool ke it was embarrassing to watch her make such a fool out of herself . The thing is 95% of our population is from the village and many other actors and actresses have worked on theme selves before taking on such roles. Take the example of Ayeza or Sajal and recall their earlier days. Their appearance, styling, and even dialogue delivery left a lot to be desired. Sajal in particular is so refined now. You’d think she was born in Clifton and not from north nazimabad. She worked really hard to take on that persona. Yumna needs to contact a good stylist ASAP(she should call Ayeza’s stylist), also a voice coach who can help with pronunciations. She kept mispronouncing simple English words in the drama. That would have worked if she was playing an Urdu medium girl recently exposed to English but she is presumably a girl who attends KGS or a comparable school in Karachi

Perfect observation Anna 👏🏻about Vidya balan comment, Yumna is exactly like that, she is a fantastic actress but she can not look cool, she needs to work a lot on her modern cool character. This dress including accessories and hairstyle was a big disaster. Surely fashion designer need to work hard to make her modern urban gal and Yumna should work on her body language, overall this character looked very OTT, she needs to tone down. Overall great start of this story, not sure if I like this whole women sitting at home just because they are rich, I mean come on this is 2023, women are going in space, how can they show something like that. Big fan of Yumna but her acting is cringe in Tere bin, the same way I said about Iqra in suno chanda. Good to see that Murtasim as a character is not yelling everytime but he portray anger with expression, with heavy low voice. Why can't be Meerab can show anger with grace, she is looking more ill-mannered girl rather than independent.

As an optimist, I decided to watch Tere Bin. I wonder why these characters have poor peripheral vision & what's the point of them colliding w/ each other in slow mo with highly disturbing background music playing. Of course because it's an 8 pm show where all is dreamy. Wahaj's character (Monty?) seems to be speaking while grinding his teeth while we see him surrounded by his photos of hunting/riding a tiger. This must be why all the young females in the show swoon over him. Yumna's world seems like everyone is against her as the pink-frocked fairy princess. All could've been forgiven if Monty hadn't stabbed the birthday cake! Unforgivable! No stabbing cakes Monty, it's ok to threaten/knife the other guy in a jealous fit. 😉 Testament to Wahaj and Yumna's talent that they pulled this off w/ a straight face..would love to see the bloopers. Highly roastable show..requesting the SH team roast this religiously every week, please & thank you. 🙃

Meerub is a very preachy character, somebody who believes in doing what is right to the point of making it sound annoying. I have witnessed such people around. And they may dress up like meerub for real. Meerub is not meant to look like a perfect high town girl. She was just supposed to look like meerub and she did. Sonya's character from tere bina main nahin fits in that notion very well and she is supposed to look like that. All in all, both wardrobes reveal sth about each character.

I haven’t seen any of Vidya’s work but small clips. Vidya didn’t do well in that movie because of acting and her dresses didn’t suit her because of her body type.
I have noticed Amna is very partial and hypocrite when it comes to her own favourite such as Sajal. Sajal have wore so many pathetic dresses during her shows but you put a blind eye to that.

Amna, you yourself have wore a dress which viewers did not like on you, so it’s a matter of taste. You didn’t like the dress on Yumna, it does not mean she is not doing well in her role or it surely doesn’t allow you to start comparing her with other actors.
