- Measure your decal placement before removal or painting and use this simple L trick with tape. Will work in most scenarios off a given point. Dont apply by eye you will be off!! Nothing worse than a nice painted motor with crooked decals. More on this motor coming....
This motor was my first restoration around 1996-7?????? Few things to do to finish first was these decal upgrades. More Coming on this 1957 Johnson 18.

Thankyou,yes I painted that cover with single stage PPG enamel color matched from a original piece at a body shop supply house back then. I think the Holiday Bronze match is very good. The Warm White was from a rattle can Tempo Laquer wet sanded and buffed. Motor and cover has been indoors for 25+ years in its favor for staying nice. Sorry for very slow response Fred just found your comment.I bought decals on Ebay they are close copies all except for the H but very nice & very affordable swabastari was the sellers name something like that hes in California I believe. He is great and will also alter decals to your colors and size too..
