Day 55 - Camping in Stafford, VA

58 miles with 2580 ft of climbing. I was hosted overnight by Janet and Walt. Walt met me cycling on the Mt Vernon trail and spontaneously offered for me to stay at his house. The funniest thing was that he doesn't have a mobile phone. I followed Walt to his house and with me in tow he explains the situation to Janet, his wife. At first, she didn't understand what was happening. But once she did, she immediately invited me in and made me feel welcome. I can't really imagine coming home with a stray cyclists, haha! They are both in their 80's and very kind. In the morning, Walt escorted me out of the DC area and onto US bike route 1 which I took to Stafford and an RV park to camp for the night.
