I punted the boros convoke matchup pretty badly. Brain stopped working and forgot what flashback was. Deck won, player lost there

Hi, I'm the guy who submitted this decklist. Good video as always, but a couple of notes on strategy with the deck:
Virtuoso is your strongest threat, hands down. Its main weakness is that it costs 2 mana and doesn't have haste, so it's pretty bad against any of the decks which run 4+ instant speed removal spells. Still, if you can untap with a Virtuoso and cards in hand, the game is almost always over. If you're playing against a broadly non-interactive deck like Boros Convoke, run out Virtuosos as fast as possible. Otherwise, you often want to play a turn off curve so you can play Virtuoso with protection up, or bait removal spells with other creatures. You can do similar stuff with Slickshot, complimented by plot, but a single turn with a Slickshot is nowhere near as devastating as a single turn with a Virtuoso
Angelfire on literally anything wins against aggro decks. It doesn't matter what you're casting it on most of the time, they won't be able to beat it. If you can cast angelfire against any aggro deck, and they can't kill your creature at instant speed, prioritize doing that over anything else.
This deck plays no removal spells for a reason, it's not built to be interactive. It's built to be a check on a meta so polarized that it can't handle protection spells or big lifeswings, where most of the aggro decks can't meaningfully interact with you. If you're trading creatures and not getting huge amounts of damage out of the deal, you're probably losing. This has exceptions of course, but broadly you shouldn't be blocking, you should be keeping your creatures and hoping you draw pump spells.
PS: Literally the only reason I'm not running Eiganjo is I never opened it in a pack and don't want to spend a wildcard on something so marginal.

Forgot to add this, I'm currently 34-10 in events with this version of the deck, that's a 77% winrate. The math on going infinite in constructed events is complicated, but you get your entry fee back plus extra at 5-3, which is a 62.5% winrate. The FTP potential for grinding with this deck is really good right now.

Good timing, was ready to change to new deck in diamond. Crafted and immediately seems strong. Holding up protection is awesome 👌 thanks as always Joe 👍

Been playing a Boros burn deck with helix, mech warfare, and end the festivities. Then the usual cards plus slingshot. Working well so far

I’ve personally found tapping out for me h warfare can be a bit risky, assuming you’ve been happy with it?

I tried the deck, despite standard BO1 being the worst format as always, I like it, but I'm playing Boon of Safaty instead of Loran's Escape. I like that you can play it on your turn to trigger prowess and the creature remains protected. In the end there isn't much single target exile in standard, but all the sweepers exile anyway.

Do you think slickshot showoff would be good in Izzet Wizards? It is a wizard.

@@MTGJoe what would you cut from the standard wizards list to make room? I was thinking Balmor, but curious to hear your thoughts.

@seanjacobson1612 yup drop balmor and I’d probably say 1 flame of anor. I like the 3 spell pierce in the version I was running as a protection spell post plot
