In this video I have discussed the concept of perception and various factors which affect or influence our perception.
Perception: is the process through which we give meaning to our sensory experiences. It is a process in which we receive , select, organize and interpret the sensory information in a way that enables us to make sense of the world around us.
Various factors which affect or influence our perception are as follows:

Characteristics of the PERCEIVER are as follows :
Various factors which influence the the perception of the perceiver are as under:

2.Past experiences : shape how we perceive new information : If a person had a bad experience with dogs in the past,he might perceive all dogs as threateningeven when the current is friendly.
3.Cultural Background :Cultural norms and values also influence our perception. For example, in some cultures direct eye contact is seen as respectful, while in some cultures it is considered as impolite and rude.
4.Emotional State: Emotions also color our perception. When someone is in a happy mood, he might perceive his surroundings as brighter and more pleasant.
5.Social identity : iy also affect our perception. For example, people tend to perceive members of their own group more positively than those from different groups.
