My best friend has Heterochromia - and he has the rarest kind - one blue and one brown eye. He also can remember every single thing that has happened in his life, right down to the conversation and date and time.
I, on the other hand, can listen to a song in a foreign language, that I don’t know or speak and can be singing it perfectly by the end of the week.
I'm very jealous of your friend 😭😭😭
Well, I'm jealous of both of you! I can listen to a sound a hundred times and still don't remember the lyrics, and I'm only 26 yrs old...
I know two people with one blue and one brown eye.
I can listen to any song for the first time and sing harmony by the second note and I can sing the melody of any song the first time I hear it and by the first listening I know the song completely 60% by memory the third time I know it 100% and I can improvise the melody and create new lyrics.
A word of CAUTION ... (19:47-20:01) to those who can bend their joints backwards (thumbs) or overextend their joints...it may not cause you to feel pain at all while you're young or even middle age, it IS doing damage. If you can do these things you very possibly have a Connective-Tissue Issue. You may have one the the 13 forms of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Other than showing your doctor, try to refrain from doing it much. I used to 'put on shows' for the neighbors' kids w/all the cool things I could do. Now I'm mostly bed-ridden (and have been for several years) and I haven't reached 70 yet. Take care of them joints!!
Like cracking my knuckles!!
Cramping&locking of fingers painful spasm is another from being able to bend fingers far back&double finger joints-You are so right
I AM one of the people who thinks cilantro tastes awful. My friends all loved it so much in a Mexican dish that I could not understand why I thought it tasted so bad. A soap taste!? Yes! Now, I understand.
It’s absolutely wretched isn’t it! I’ve had to spit a bite out into my serviette more than once.
It and celery taste _a little_ soapy to me, but I love both. A lot.
My husband and I do not like cilantro. It tastes like soap to both of us. 😅
If you keep eating it the taste will stop tasting like soap. The first time I tasted it I was sure that it was the dish.
You probably have the gene. I do & I don't like cilantro.
This was one of the best videos I've seen from this channel! Useful, fascinating, educational, eye-opening, as well as, new & somewhat surprising! I was surprised at how much of this I've never heard,& didn't know before! This was, in my opinion, a stellar video! Thank you, Bright Side! ❤
I am right-handed but I always always chew food on my left
I'm your direct opposite. First thing I thought of!
Me too! Right handed and chew on the left
Same here! Right handed and chew on my left
Same here right handed chew on left
Me too.
An Elon Musk commercial came on right at the end of "the Pinocchio effect". I just thought you were giving an example. lol
When I get hiccups, I take a deep breath and hold it until my diaphragm stops spasming. It works.
Same, but I tighten my ab's at the same time.
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.
😂
My dad could move both ears and one at a time. Kept me amused as a child.
Me who thought everyone could flare their nostrils on command
I'm special!!
Yea, you're special. Is your name Ed?
"A woman sneezed over 1 million times in 976 days." Man... I'll bet she had the best six pack ever.
And cracked ribs 🤔
One time I sneezed so violently I really hurt my back.
I was thinking she probably wound up with brain damage.
Whew…poor lady. I feel sorry for her.
Sneeze during an episode of sciatica, an explosion of pain!
As if anyone would count THAT many sneezes...I call BS
Hey! Just discovered I can move one of my ears. Have always been able to flare my nostrils - didn't realize not everyone can do this
I can also flere my nostrils
Lol same i taught my bf how to move his eyebrows, didn't know some ppl can't 🤨🤔😌😔😟
But after a couple years of practice, he can finally visually express his shock!
Next im gonna teach him how to flare 😤
I didn't know some people couldn't flare their nostrils. I can do it. I think I can move my ears.
@@sailordragonslayer918 I thought everyone could move their eyebrows 😂 I remember when I was little and found out that I could move my eyebrows. It was so funny 😂
I'm calling BS on the scissors. I'm a righty but broke my right wrist a couple of years ago, so had to use my left. The issue with scissors is not dexterity. I didn't realize (though my left-handed friends have been trying to tell me for years) that scissors really are made for right-handed people. It's not just the finger holes. The motion of the thumb and fingers naturally pulls the blades together so the blades rub against each other. A lefty, with the same motion, will cause the blades to separate, and not cut (as well).
yes this is what I have been saying to my lefty friends, the mechanics are wrong, the blades are on the wrong side
I'm left-handed. I learned at a young age to intentionally exert sideways pressure when holding scissors to force the blades together. Doing so quickly cramps the hand, but it works.
You just need Left-handed scissors! I worked in a fabric store back in the 1980's and they sold left-handed scissors.... made life so much easier!
Thank you
@@monicagrorud2225, have you looked online for left-handed scissors?
I think I might be a bit weird 🤔 I'm right-handed, but I naturally chew on the left side 🤷♀️
Wish my body could regenerate myelin 😢 I've got MS, and it really annoys me 😒
You haven't heard my partner snoring 😂
Or my ex. He gave new meaning to the phrase "sound sleeper"😆
Right! They think a BLENDER is loud? Ha! More like a combo of several of these at the same time!!🦍🦁🐘🦖🌋⛲🚂🚑🏎🏍
Then they start blowing 🥴
I have (blue/teal/green) heterochromia and that fourth cone in my eyes, write right handed and sign ASL left handed and chew on both sides. I can also bend my fingers *and* thumb backwards, and touch my wrist with my thumb due to hEDS. The body is indeed a strange and wonderful thing.
Right handed but eats on my left side of my mouth 😮 all the time
Exactly. Fun fact Bright Side abbreviated turns into B.S (think about it) I've sussed this channel out before.
Sleeping, You only NEED 4 hours of stage 4 (dream state) R.E.M (rapid eye movement) This was determined through a sleep study that forced people to sleep only 4 hours a day, they were required to sleep 15 minutes stay awake for 2 hours sleep 15 minutes etc. upon waking they were required to take a short test, one of the subjects stated "I didnt even think I knew the answer but I was very confident of the answer, my art has also excelled, I'm drawing stuff that even amazes myself"
Human body is really interesting, defienitily hands and legs what we use everyday and everysecond in our lifetime, sometimes i've forgot how much I use my hands. 😮
I really enjoy these types of informative videos and you guys do it the best!
I have anosmia from my birth, but the rest of my senses are strong! sometimes I feel some smells but I can't understand what they are... luckily I have my husband and he helps me if I have any ddifficulties
Also each of a person’s eyes sees differently. I have an ocular divergence. One eye sees turquoise differently, sometimes turquoise and blue, sometimes turquoise & green. My optometrist said it’s because of the different number of green and blue cones cels in each eye.
One step further, if your friend in a club presses your tragus for you, it’s like listening to them directly on the phone! You can hear them quite clearly as the bir ration of their voice is also carried through the touch.
Leaves a person vulnerable to a Wet Willie. Makes me shudder.
I was forced to learn with right hand but the computer mouse just does not want to work with the righthand. Also I can write (my sister too) with both hand each way means 3 different way. I never thought that was unusual. I feel now special😊 thank you for all this interesting information. Where is the info about the hand of the begining of the video and what does it mean?
I didn't know about that sneezing trick decades ago, when I broke three ribs. Yet, somehow, I still managed to avoid sneezing for around eight weeks through sheer power of will. 💪
I broke my nose a month ago. I was terrified to sneeze lest my nose start bleeding again.
Awesome video!! I have something called color memory. I can look at a color and remember it later, which serves me well because I work with fabric a lot.
I can move both my ears and flare both nostrils.....until now I thought everybody can. I also have heterochromia and dbl joined thumbs (didnt know its called that) but again I didnt know that its rare. I am righthanded but mainly chew on the left side tho :D Very interesting video, thanks :)
eat on both left and right tho i am right plus i have douple jounted too
I have the cilantro soap gene, I always wondered why it smelled and tasted like cleaning fluid to me. I'm also ambidextrous, but only because I was forced to be right handed. One thing you didn't mention is extra bones. I have three extra in one foot, and two in the other. They aren't connected to anything, they just cause pain once in awhile. I've also regularly slept 5-6 hours my whole life and drove my parents crazy. The long palmar ligament also explains my affinity for climbing trees as a kid. My son has synesthesia, he sees colors when he hears music. He also has perfect pitch and is an accomplished musician.
(At 8:30) it is pronounced sin-ess-THEE-zee-a, not sin-ESS-thee-a.
Gotta spell it correctly in the script for the AI to pronounce it correctly.
I wish you had covered people who can turn their tongues over or the various types of tongue twisting
I can fold my tongue in half, the long way. I'm told it's a genetic trait.
For hiccups, if you start breathing heavily as soon as the hiccups start... it will stop in no time
For hiccups pull your earlobe down and out at 45°. The nerve that's spasming your diaphragm passes under your earlobe and this interrupts the hiccup-causing impulse
@@user-xw7kq1fk8d thanks for the information
What often works for me is breathing in and holding my breath. If that doesn't work, I breathe only moving my stomach instead of my chest. If that doesn't work I just exist and accept it.
@@AmeliaEarhart537 Hold and push out hard causing your diaphragm to do something else. Works every time.
Me: uses the middle of my mouth to eat
I have the dense bones, relaxing in a pool of water and I sink.
What crossing your thumbs means your special? Come on!
Who counted the sneezes and kept a record?
I have grapheme color synesthesia. Didn't know it was that rare!
It is not that rare at all. This video is sloppily researched.
That's what I thought@@bnic9471
Fascinating!!!!!
Thank you for the facts!
My heart beats more slowly when holding my breath ????
8:10 There are many myths that give people the false idea that the can dependably know when someone is telling lies.
There is no dependable way do detect deception.
Hmmm, that's odd. My nose just burst into flames. That hurts a but actually.
I tickle my upper mouth (or the roof of my mouth) to prevent sneezing.
Biting too lip stops a sneeze too!
Great video!!! Unfortunately for me, I'm an oddity. I have more than one of those special traits, a lot more! Special or cursed?
I can breath out of one lung at a time. Haven't met anyone else who can
1:00 Placing your head under water for 10 minutes will also end a hiccup fit.
This will also end any other health or psychological issues you may be having.
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that.
when i use my double jointed thumb (also called a hitchhiker’s thumb) ppl call me a monster ☹
1:05 💃 No one's tried to pick me up in night clubs since I learned these four tips ! 🕺
Great info!
I tickle the bridge of my nose to help myself finish sneezing when it's on the brink of cancelling itself. lol It's an 80% success rate when coupled with looking upward at a light source.
I am left handed but I can do nearly everything else right handed . The exception to this is sports played on the ground like hockey and golf/putting which I only do left handed. All other sports and tasks I can also do right handed like baseball, tennis, etc 😅 not sure if that makes me ambidextrous of not
❤ the facts man 😅
Check your pronunciations .... Denisovans... Synesthesia
And a few others, as well.
It is due to being AI
8:00 You can donate your liver for transplant more than once.
Thanks for such incredible videos love from ❤️🇲🇾
I have a few of these. No sense of smell. Have to ask my sister to come smell things for me. Double jointed thumb/hitch hiker thumb. I can flare my nostrils on demand. I can also cross one eye. Pop my jaw loud enough to hear across the room. Put my ankles behind my head while sitting. I’m a weird one!
7:47 During these quick eye movements, called "saccades," your vision is blurred just as happens when you pan around with a video camera. Your brain edits out these useless "frames" and backfills with the last clear image. This is the reason for the "stopped clock illusion," when you glance at a clock with a ticking second hand and it seems to have stopped for a moment. It's also why no matter how closely you look in a mirror, you will never see your eyes move.
I love you ❤🎉😊
Great stuff¡ Love the info thank you 😊
You don't have to run your nose like that...just press your finger under your septum.
Oh no need more information please Thankyou be safe warm ❣️🍀🙏💯
loved it
I got the straight mark on my Right hand
Sorry if I missed but where did it talk about the feature on the thumbnail of this video? If anyone can point me to the time stamp I’d appreciate it!
Actually that feature isn’t in the video, but I believe they talk about it in one of their “ how rare are you videos” 😊
@@everywhereemily ah I see, thank you so much!
@@shugatastic no problem!
I have brown eyes with green patches. I didn't know it was a rare condition. I am also partially lefthanded. I do some things with my right hand and other with my left that I can't do with my right!
im right handed yet chew on my left side
Wow cool man amazing
I always checked my kids temp with my lips on there forehead
Palmar muscle team
👇
I can cross my thumbs, I can only eat 1-2 pieces of pineapple and I can flare my nostrils lol
I only have the rare double jointed thumbs and the tree climbing muscles
I sleep around 4 hours a night. If I sleep more, I feel weird and groggy.
Double jointed thumbs or fingers don't hurt when you're young but they sure take it out on you when you get older.
I like sneezing.
I wish you could see my double jointed thumbs. They are extreme. Lol. Even one of my doctors said, "oooooh don't do that with your thumbs!" (I didn't realize I was doing anything)
I just rubbed my nose and made myself sneeze...
Slay this was only 3 minutes agooooo
So many sneezes 🤧🤧
Team that’s here early

Where are my One Palm’ers? ✋🏼
Pickle juice for hiccups
I am right-handed but kick with my left foot
Hello
No one really has ‘double joints.’
_I bet you are watching this with one leg over the other !_ ✨
I'm not!!!?? Am I special??? 😂
Nope
Nope
How did you do that 😳
I'm not
Sneezing is beneficial. Why would you want to stop it?
How did you no that?
Im right handed and i eat on my left side❤
1:56 .. I can't explain. LOL
Hey Bright side u missed one thing do u know that when u got hiccups and they cant stop they actually stop when u stick a small tiny paper to your forehead
With your saliver
Yes, I taste soap
He's talking about sneezes but you see projectile coming from the mouth, That's a cough. Sneezes are clearing your sinuses and that would be out your nostrils
Try sneezing with your mouth closed, once.
@@bnic9471 That's what I do because that's what you're supposed to do.
Or it's a cough.
Holaaa
You should have said ossicular chain.
Ok. But what if your lips are not that sensitive?
Vice versa... Not visa versa
It tastes like soap to me.
Cilantro tastes like soap to me! 🤮
8:28 …. That- that’s not how you pronounce that …😅lol
3:20 Deju vu theory is incorrect
