Top notch musicianship, this had to be said. With that aside, Sullivan is a good vocalist, but he still needs to work on his higher-pitched singing, in my opinion. - Hudba
Pretty sure im a thousand views by myself! Absolutely never gets old!
A thousand more from me :)
My brother and I had a band back in 1996 which we originally called HELLUSANATION (deliberately misspelled Hell USA Nation, meaning this country is going to shit) which I discovered later there was a Hip Hop band by the same name, so I changed to Far From Reality, because I said that everybody is trying to get as far from reality as they can, and after searching, found these guys....Kudos to them, tho, I like the name, obviously. I dig the music too. They care and are very good musicians.
Randy, you been drinkin' and reminiscin'. And it's awesome, cuz I am too. Yeah! Glory days! and shit.
I did not know this band and I'm sorry I didn't heard them before August 2021 what a shame that there is so many good bands out there we know nothing about. Way to go excellent music keeps me alive.Love you guys !!!!!
They're now called Fractal Cypher and still have great music.
@@advillobotomite1196 I was just about to comment that. An updated version of Lost (16:01) became Fractal Cypher's first single, interestingly enough.
the guitarist of this band is my music teacher holy shit
Cool. Love that progressive hard rock blend! Thank you
Ok new update, i've listened to this whole album 3 times, it doesn't sound good anymore, it sounds amazing!
+Metal God Wuthering Heights is more of a European folk/prog/power metal band, i still like them though. This band is like the heavy version of Dream Theater with a vocalist that is more suited to that style of music than labrie is. Also their songs are more streamlined and contain fewer/shorter instrumental sections.
Wow, I was searching for a band I stumbled upon while listening to a dezer prog metal mix, and found this one by accident. Best accident ever, this band is amazing!
Really like it, instrumentals are good, vocals too. Now I'm just waiting for another album!! :)
Long Live Metal!!
they lost the vocalist and keyboard player so i dont know if they are making another one
+Erick Deason Check out Fractal Cypher's facebook page. New band from former singer, keyboard player and guitarist of Far From Reality. Single "Prison Planet" out now, album due later 2016!
Masterpiece!! Keep up insane work!!
Its absolutely amazing!
this album made my night !
Astonishing work: the vocals are quite fine for a first release (of course a greater range of vocal ability would be wonderful), the instrumentals exude the neccessary emotions, and the songs altogether induce compell thought and delight.
Great stuff like usual.
Excellent album!! Tout récemment découvert :)
Songwriting is spot on!!! 🤘
Padu bosskurrr....👍
Uhhh yea I'm definitely wanting to know when are they gonna do another album. I dig these guys.
Just Amazing!!!
thanks for upload
This is very amazing i will definitely listen to some of these songs in the album
this is very crazy! great band🎼🎵🎶⚔️🎸💀
Amazing feelings
Singer sounds like the vocalist from Fractal Cypher, another Canadian pog band.
Fractal Cypher is a new band from former singer, keyboard player and guitarist of Far From Reality.
awesome upload from the anti-old lady mugger!

לך לישון!
Fucking ''A''! Greatly Done! Finally a band that understand modern progressive metal
je découvre , c'est un bel album
There are lots of comments mentioning Dream Theater and, I must say, I totally agree with comparison. It's almost a challenge to find bits in this album that DON'T sound like Dream Theater.
I do like DT though and I enjoyed listening to this. I was just hoping for something truly "progressive". Recommendations very welcome!
Haken. Soul Secret. Neal Morse. Implosion. Lost In Thought. But, for the record, I cannot (or will not) compare FFR to DT or any other band. Aside from the genre, I appreciate each band on it's on merit. However, I do not hold anyone at fault for making said comparison but, I cannot help but feel that is very "narrow minded". If wanted, or need be, we can compare everybody to someone else but, in the process, we are disingenuous to our own selves...
Neal Morse - Sola Scriptura kicks ass, the bands you mentioned lean more to prog rock, and don't get me wrong, I love it, Magic Pie - The Suffering Joy had me amazed for months. Still I think that the question of AlanKey86 was more about prog metal. Do you want more of DT? Seventh Wonder (Cannot love them more), Circus Maximus, and Soul Secret are you must check, also, Psychotic Symphony - Sons of Apollo (2017) is out, it's made by Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, good stuff. Also, you have another world of prog metal bands that sound like Symphony X, like Myrath (+10), Darkwater, Adagio, Beyond the bridge, Suspyre and Time Requiem, if you want, I did a playlist: playlist?list=PLONViMs92-gTC8HliGdK8UwmDIY9eKlQP
Prog. Metal? There are more than a few really good ones (Bruno mentioned some good ones) but there is also bands like "Lost in Thought" "Implosion" and can we add "Savatage"? they're my all time favorite band ever. "Spheric Universe Experience" "Liquid Tension Experiment" "EarthCry" "Wingdom" and "Winterborn" should all be considered as well
Yep, I didn't mention Lost in Thought because it goes a little out of my musical taste, just like Haken, I know everyone loves Haken but there's something that doesn't appeal to me particularly. Savatage is a classic, I wouldn't put them alongside with DT in the same category, but they kick ass anyway, especially Trans Siberian Orchestra which is today's Savatage. Liquid Tension Experiment was basically the most known DT side project, good stuff. Can't find anything of "EarthCry" though. But yeah, you have like too many very good progressive metal bands, you just have to search hard enough, they never cease to appear. Kamelot - The Black Halo, Redemption - Snowfall on Judgment day, Voyager - V, Ayreon - Many albums are great, Theocracy - As the world bleeds, Trans Siberian Orchestra - Beethoven's last Night (and pretty much everything), Circle of Illusion - Jeremias Foreshadow of Forgotten Realms (awesome prog blues funk fusion). I just don't want to go outside of the genre, I would say Wintersun, Scar Symmetry and Raintime are awesome bands, but I would be mixing prog with melodeath and I know most people can't stand screams, it's just my taste. Hell, I could even do the same with more Power metal "stratovariusish" bands and less prog
Damn, this sounds so close to Dream Theater's Awake album. great stuff!
it sounds great, origin, but noit like Dreamtheater i think.
DT very ofte nhase same style songs.. same key.. same feeling.. thats different here! ;D
I dissagree with the comment below...this guy has a nice voice.. ( he reminds me of someone, but I am racking myself..in trying to think of who..?? )..technically he is perfect in every way & .ideal for this genre of music..very nice album and band.. :)
perhaps the singer from Fractal Cypher? I think it could be the same person. Also sounds like a less thinner version of the guy from Illusion Suite.
Sound very much like Dream Theater....testing the ability of the listener to keep time, which is not a bad thing at all...music such as this and Dream Theater, is gratifying after the listener puts a little effort into understanding it...after all, these guys did not just show up one day and jam while they were recording. Progressive music is MUSICIAN'S music. Simple as that.
Yes they sound a little like dream theater. But much much better
come one dream theater is too boring vocals and too perfect robotic music ,i love fates warning much better band ,every album they make is different !!!
@@junkcarsinc9467 - Fates Warning are the KINGS of prog metal, IMO! As a CT resident and musician, I’ve been a fan and friend of the band since before they were signed. Jim Matheos is an absolute monster guitarist, master songwriter and all-around cool mofo! Many prog metal bands lack depth of feeling (DT, I’m looking at you), but FW (and Arch-Matheos, too) have the perfect blend of heavy, catchy, melodic and meaningful. It’s a shame they remain in DT’s shadow because they’re by far the superior band.
Hey it was a excellennt record wisn u luck on your nexed record
Wow
Awesome album, to me the singer sounds like a blend of iron maiden and avenged seven fold, with progressive structured melodies. Great musicians of course
Salam satu jiwa \M/
Why cant i find the lyrics for this band ANYWHERE?
Same
This band isn't even on wikipedia, i feel like they're just a little better than that.
Is it on Metal Archives
omg the riff on 13:47!!!!!!!
FantastiquT!§*
Where did you get this version with the extra songs? (Lost and Regrets.) They're not on the Bandcamp album.
πρωτοσ ξαδερφοσ του labrie ειναι ο τραγουδιστησ???
Have you ever bought any mp3s from Amazon? How does that work? Does it get downloaded to your pc, or does it go onto Amazon's "my music"?
I never bought digital music, as that I prefer the hardcopies for its artwork, lyrics, back story on the band, band members names and to read their acknowledgments, etc.
Any info/insight on digital purchases/downloads would be much appreciated .
I haven't used Amazon, but I got these guys's music from Bandcamp. I can download and stream freely. (I put it on my phone.)
Pretty sure these guys only released digitally.
21:31 ❤
Not Spotify??
I dig the shit out of the vocalist great band
The mix fucked up the vocals, sounds like he's singing from inside a box far away. Still better than all of these new "singers" who only know how to scream.
Anyone know where to get a copy of this album??
Thank you so much Anthony for your interest. send me facebook message, i can send you a physical copy.
Where can you buy a CD?
They're on bandcamp
Are there any hard copies (cd's) for purchase anywhere?Love this album.
Thank you for your interest. I could send you a physical copy if your still want it. Send me a facebook message. Thank you so much
Yes! very MUCH interested. thank you.
message sent. Thanks. This is an EXCELLENT album, sorely needed in my library; everyone's library actually. This CD is top notch!
I too would love a physical copy, I've been listening to this album for a solid week now and I can't get enough of it.
I think he was just flattered for a moment, I sent message but no reply. But this IS an excellent album! Even if you can only here it on CZcams. Every time I listen, I like it more. A true gem! Too bad I can't put it on my mp3 player for when I ride.
If you like Dream Theater go check out Sons of Apallo.Or, if not!
First time checking this band out... sound pretty good! Oh... wait... they're Canadian... =\
Cryptic McNuggets 😡

Check out Fractal Cypher's Facebook page. New band from former singer, keyboard player and guitarist of Far From Reality. New album The Human Paradox out now.
one month later, ANYBODY?
The band exist now as Fractal Cypher mate!
Really?
And more than a full year later, still nothing, not even on their own website.
What is the website
Can anyone recommend some Prog metal groups (not Djent) from early 2000s or 90s? Like Dream Theater, Planet X those lads
Symphony X started as prog / power / neoclassical and became heavier and heavier starting in 2002. Maybe you'll like their albums up to 2002. (skip the first one, though).
Thank you, Canada. This is great! ...but it still doesn't make up for Bryan Adams.
Dream Theater... even the thin voice straining to hit the notes matches...
The difference is, I can't stand Dream Theater.
are the instruments vst? i like it though but it sounds fake
+iPwNYoU14 its not vst
Somebody need to update the console mixer or turn off the shrill, the voice sounds terrible...
I think these newer bands sound too similar to Dream Theater. The fast harmonic progressions, the clean leads, the vocals are somewhat similar to James LaBrie's as well. The thing that upsets me the most though, are the same Petrucci solo tones. Petrucci shouldn't be copied. He's one of a kind. Create your own tone.
+Magnus Imperium i understand what you mean about the petrucci sounding solos. But other than that i think this band is a little more straightforward than DT while still retaining some progressive elements. They focus more on catchy choruses and riffs than DT. More influence from European power metal i think.
La voz suena forzada pero buen álbum....A seguir
what do you mean with progressive metal?? this is metalcore, period! good sound tough
Jose Ribeiro is because they sound like Dream Theater
What!?!
Consider a female front guys - really - everything else would fit.
They copied even the singer? :D
Great musicianship but the entire album sounds like the same song over and over again...i don´t like the singer.
Very nice band and album, the only negative is the voice, just terrible
I rather like the voice.
same here (also see the review by "Hemis" within the ProgArchives)
Actually, he's quite talented.
14.40. le solo de gratte manque d'a propos....le mec fait ses gammes , c'est sa répète quoi , ça manque d'inspiration , c'est juste un gimmick technique , limite hors tonalité qui plus est....franchement pas de bon goût...
good ...singer ...bad
I think bad balance vocal to music.
nothing progressive about it. at all.
Are you kidding lol?
amazing banda
