Pixar's Burn-E Sound Design

- This video is presented as a showreel for my sound design and was done as part of my exam in Sound Design from the Norwegian Film School. I have stripped the sound from the original film and replaced with my own. This is a stereo downmix from my original 5.1 surround mix.
The images in this video are owned by Pixar Animation Studios and I claim no ownership over the content. The original film is availiable on the Wall-E Blu-Ray
The music is from the fantastic Wall-E soundtrack by Thomas Newman and the piece at the end is from Beethoven's Symphony no. 9: • Symphony No. 9 ~ Beeth... - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Burn-E took the entire major part of the movie to fix one light... :/
And he never ended up fixing it rip.
This is the best Pixar movie I've seen since WALL-E and Cars 2. WALL-E needs a proper sequel

I love how Burn-E hums Ode to Joy. Such a great little touch.
I didn't catch that the first time I watched it, so imagine my surprise at the end. Then I watched a WALL-E/BURN-E scene comparison, and that's when it struck me that he's humming Ode an die Freude. Bloody hell!

There's a machine sound effect a 1:07. It's a rising and falling low whine, layered in with some other things. I Regard it as the "Wilhelm Scream" of its kind of effect. It's old, and you hear it in everything once you know what it is. And yes, there are other similar ones in this.

Just saying, but shouldn't BURN-E be called BURN-A since it's operating on Axiom?
BURN-E stands for : Basic Utility Repair Nano-Engineer . ;)

WALL•E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Earth class)
***** in the ship lives a giant wall-E
o2112o blar That's why they are called WALL-A, Not E
*****
Wall-A are the nice big brothers of Wall-E, who works at the garbage dump in the ship.
Funny enough, the reject bots are probably some of the smartest ones aboard the ship, as they show an ability to think outside the box for solutions, and seemingly have an ability to think freely and ignore orders/inputs.
Love this. I remember the little guy on the hull when Wall-E went inside and the door shut on it.
