I've been listening to this song for about 30 years, Disturbed 's version has blown me away. David' s vocals are so emotive it brings a tear to my eye. Then you hear the absolute professionalism of the band arrangements are perfect musical skill perfect. Can't seem to play it enough.

I'm a child of the sixties, and that song resonated first time around. It stayed with me all these years. Simon and Garfunkel sang it with exquisite poignancy but the power was there.
But this guy, against the backdrop of real footage, those first responders doing what they do, no fanfare or fuss, they were there and finding people... rescuing people... Then this clip now, this guy David Draiman - the POWER of that melody and the words... Grim REAL context...

Masterpiece!! Rarely does a cover last in memory but this one absolutely does. Its like a different song than the original. Blows me away. Love his delivery. On Point. Profound. Powerful. 🎤🎶
In 1964 I was 8 years old and the original S & G song was good. This rendition is another level. The tone and resonance is so touching. It grabs your heart strings and plays with them throughout the song. For a rock group this is the best cover by far. I will definitely buy their album.

I love this song. I'm 73 and have been listening to it for years. WELL, David sings this song like it should be sung. His voice and facial expressions MAKE this song good again. I had to listen to THIS version over and over. Well done Disturbed!

I absolutely love this version, so much so that I have listened to it hundreds of times. I have heard that the groups fans hated it and thought they have sold out as it wasn't their normal heavy rock. This is a masterpiece, so much talent. Please do more.

Only 2 voices have given me goosebumps.....Roy Orbison and this fellow David from a group called Disturbed. I was not familiar with this group until I came across The Sounds of Silence. OMG! The passion and heart of this man is obvious immediately and his voice makes Simon and Garfunkle sound like amateurs. He nails this song like I've never heard before and I'm 65 years old.
I've listened to this beautiful rendition at least a dozen times. I still cry over it. Simon and Garfunkel have got to be honored and proud. I know I am. I got to hear it performed live 83.

It's funny. We ALWAYS thank our first responders(fire, police, ambulance) but we forget the sacrifice by Search and Rescue. Thank-you SAR for all that you do.

Dan Vasc is incredible, his rendition of Amazing Grace and some other songs are it for me, but, I have to give this song to Disturbed as its the best ive ever heard. Id waited 40 years to hear Vasc sing Amazing Grace the way i knew it could be sung, but it seems i was waiting as long for Disturbed's rendition of The Sound of Silence and didn't know it! If truth be told, the only way this song could be made manifest was to be sung with anger. Those are not pretty words. Listen, they are outrage. Draiman's voice is utterly compelling, haunting, symphonic, replete with humanity. (Only the best sound system could do it justice really.) I am mesmerized by Draiman's voice. It is magnetic. irresistibly beautiful.
I have always loved Simon and Garfunkel version but this takes it up a notch. I LOVE it!

I grew up listening to bluegrass and country. But last November I was trampled by a cow and spent a little over a month in the hospital. 10 days in a coma. One of the nurses would play this to me every day till I woke up and talked to them. The song still sends chills down my back. It's so much truth in it. I listen to it every day when I get before I go out and begin the day.

Last song my dad and I listened to as I laid next to him with my head next to his my arm wrapped around his chest and my hand against his face with my little brother laying on the other side as he slipped away and life support went blank. I'll never forget that moment my brother looked at me and grabbed me by the hand. My world stood still I felt my whole world crashing down around me but that moment will forever bring me peace knowing that he had us and was not alone and nobody dared dasturbed that moment.
