    There was a guy from Lake Sawyer near Black Diamond, Wa. that had a Jeep in a box. It had never been opened. He and his buddies bought two box cars full of boxed Jeeps in 1946 from Government Surplus and sold all but what they kept. I think his name was Beckler. I saw the box but he would pull any boards from it.

    Funny..., Ford also came with a slat grille on their own competitor-'jeep' and when they were building their version of the Willys MB Jeep, they designed the pressed sheet metal grille that became the halmark of THE JEEP !!!

    In 2019 I was out to DDay Conneaut Ohio, and saw an usual WWII Jeep on display. It must have been a real early prototype because of some very usual features. The intake/exhaust manifold was on the opposite side of the engine. It had an automotive instrument cluster on the dash, the door contour was different. It was a slat grill. Anyone every seen this one?

    good hello, although there are many groups on the emblematic military car Willys, since by varying times showed our willys it was the army but in 1960 was offered to the volunteer firefighters of Figueira da Foz and which continues to roll but with many difficulties helps in getting parts for it, until now still not managed to get someone offers to help by our Willes look better and oust some pieces that begin to show much wear and damage, unfortunately. As I mentioned already have 3 cars of old fire and American manufacturing: 1º Ford AA 1930, 2º Willys 1945, 3º Studebaker de1953, as the photos will show, so precisamois of all the aid that can be given because we are one body volunteer firefighters and to keep these relics running are accurate financiaL or material helps to restore and maintain rolling, I hope you like the pictures !!!!.........

    • @georgebaxter8098
      @georgebaxter8098 Před 4 lety

      Actually that is not true. All factory model jeeps and military equipment thru WWII were stencil with the olive blue drab. I was not until the Korean era that equipment was marked in white from the factory. Once in combat most vehicles where restenciled in white markings. The documentation on this point is undisputed & original archive photos prove it out too.
