Having lived in the gold coast for 15 years, I started off the same as you in Surfers as all the foreigners do. However, the Southern part of the Gold Coast is so much better. From Burleigh down to Coolangatta, it has much better beaches, surf, and less touristy. Rainbow Bay is the MVP of the Gold Coast (look it up!)
If you do end up in Surfers, make sure to make your way down to the Southern part of the coast at some point.

Hi Matt and Summer Enjoying your videos and your journey. Property wise it will be difficult as the quality of properties in Dubai are a couple levels up on the Gold coast properties. When you give prices for apartments could you also please quote ongoing costs. In Dubai you never mentioned service charges which are significant in the overall costs it would help people thinking of renting an apartment. Be careful as crime along the gold coast is high. Keep up the good work. looking forward to your future videos.

Loved that last apartment but I know what you mean about bedrooms with no window. Might start to feel like a prison for whoever lives in there! 😂 The second apartments ceilings were too low for Matt I think. I’m short and felt they would be too low for me!!

Finding your Vlogs very interesting. As long time local renters in the Gold Coast, it’s interesting to hear your points of view in regards to apartments and general lifestyle here. We would like to say: it’s overwhelmingly disappointing how small the modern apartments are. 2 years ago we completed an extensive search for a home and ended up choosing an older style apartment as the general interior was much bigger. Essentially, we could not work out how anyone can live in a modern apartment, they certainly are not big enough to swing a cat in (which by the way, if you have a cat you need big rooms as it’s illegal for cats to be outside). Elysium and the Whale Tail Hi Rises were very bad also in regards to facilities. As a buyer I’d be running away. We’re glad we found your Vlogs as it also helps us if we ever choose to invest or purchase an apartment for ourselves. Hope you’re enjoying the Gold Coast!
I didn't like any of those you looked at today. The 3 bedroom one was 2 bedrooms and a store room. And all so expensive. I agree that meridian so far are the nicer apartments
Ofcourse mate it will be expensive in the city and cheaper and bigger in suburbs.

The Meriton building is nice but you would be living in Surfers Paradise which is not ideal.
The best suburbs are Broadbeach - Burleigh. Mermaid Beach / Nobbies area is the best.

I was wondering where you guys had disappeared to. You’ve taken the plunge and become Aussies. I’m an expat myself and have been here just over 11 years now. However I’m not in as nice an area as you guys. Although within an hour of 90 mile beach. Enjoy your stay, and who knows, you may decide to stay here permanently too.

I know it’s each to their own but I just love Dubai, always feel so safe, everywhere is pristine and so much to do. These apartments are not in the same league, that’s the trouble Dubai sets the bar.
Dubai is shit in front of Australia. There are so many things to do in Gold coast as well of you have money and knowledge. I have been to Dubai and it was very boring there and it’s infrastructure is not classy.

i actually need to say this but in broadbeach and surfers paradise is not actually safe there because of the crimes like murder slaughter rape theft purse snatchers robbed mobbed the mass shootings and more that you both need to know on the gold coast and where i live is way safer and so is arundel Parkwood and helensvale but be very careful because don't want the both of you's to go through about what my family that went through from in the past it's because i care about other people it's because I'm a people person and a friendly person besides there is a park a tavern a gas station pokies a pet store and a video blockbuster or something different a drive in subway area and more there in arundel is my old primary school some restaurants and more in helensvale is my old high school a train station the Westfield shops and the bowls club and more and in central southport has so many places near by and close by there is the gold coast beach is near by way to many cultural foods some events and other activities and also imagine the sun rises and you both could see the boats moving other people doing the whale watching hearing the birds the other people in air balloons smelling the ocean breeze while drinking tea or coffee or milo or ice coffee or ice tea or juice or smoothe and hot chocolate and while planning things to do like going swimming in seeing sunrise the mornings or afternoons or at seeing the sunset nighttime and closes at 9.00 pm or checking out the lagoon park at sunset until at nighttime and the pier at sunrise or at sunset or both or the wharf while going at nighttime on a ferryride or on a boat at sunrise you name it and by the way my real name is katie giacomantonio my last name means james-antony in English but.im not a catfisher I'm just someone that is in hiding because of my fans on my half sister's facebook page it's because I'm a unfamous international dancer and my dance vids is on her Facebook page though so and don't forget that the both of you's are very welcomed to do about the both of you's gotta do on the gold coast so I'm just gonna give matt and summer a shout out and holler though and still though so.
