Pausing exactly around 2:13 too, you can see Shy Guy's mask is still a part of him as he puts on the second mask. It just so happens the scene is quick so none will notice it in actual game.
The look of pure horror on Luigi’s face as he sees an unmasked shy guy… he’s the only other Nintendo character that knows what a shy guy’s face looks like. They might actually just have no face though, in the Golden Coliseum in Paper Mario Color Spalsh, a shy guy says to Mario, “You reek of confidence. And you have a face. You’d make a terrible shy guy.” He might just be referring to his face being hidden, but I’m kind of unsure now.

Well, another CZcamsr touched on the Shy Guy subject and pointed out that if you turn the camera around during the cutscene where Luigi sees what’s underneath the mask, the leather strap visible doesn’t line up with the eye holes and mouth hole
Yeah, Luigi and everyone else at the stadium are the only people who saw his face.
You can also see meta knight's face in more detail as an alt skin for kirby!

Hal Laboratory really needs to develop Meta Knight's backstory and his connection to Kirby. We've known these two are the same species for decades and that Meta Knight doesn't truly consider Kirby an enemy despite their battles so what does he really want with Kirby?
In the anime it was made clear that Kirbo was made by Nightmare, and Meta Knight was one of the best star warriors at the time so he was the basis for Kirbo's appearance. The games have gone a slightly different direction though, and Kirby sprung into existence because lots of people were happy at the time and the thing that made most of the Kirby final bosses (Zero, Nebula, etc.) simply came across positivity instead of negativity... unfortunately negativity seems to be a bit more common...
I think he thinks Kirby's appearance is embarrasing so he uses a mask and he flee when his mask is destroyed. I think he fights Kirby 'cause he consider him a rival, but when the real rivals are acting, Meta Knight fights next to Kirby. My opinion is that Meta Knight is something close to an Anti-hero.

Kirby is Galacta Night as a child, and a Meta Knight is the son of Galacta Night, I think Meta Knight is trying to help develop his father’s star warrior skills. And I think mega night wears a mask to look more menacing and to be taken seriously

I love how it's been shown on several occasions that the rope that hold the mask to shy guys face dosen't actually do anything and is just for show
Cubone is pretty underwhelming without his skull but that could just be a case of the manufacturer having no choice to put something there for the actual plush to hold firmly. As for Shy Guys, I would not be surprised it there REALLY was nothing under their mask, creepy as they are. Also, the Shy Guy ghosts in Luigi's Mansion are not real, they are created by Vincent Van Gore so that's how HE sees them.

The shiny eyes from the Ghost Shy Guys... I think the normal Shy Guys doesn't have that, their eyes looks like two holes. So, I think they look like Toads, but instead of mushroom hat, they have a red suit.

For the shy guy, i think it's a boo. In one of the yoshi island game, in some levels, we se boos with a shy guy mask on. It doesn't necessarily mean that shy guy= boo , but it's still cool to know

5:35 you can also see him without the mask in the cutscene when you play the Nintendo classics level
2:27 reminds me of the ending of Halo CE where master chief takes off his helmet, but in the normal game it is blocked by a part of the ship he’s on. If you use hacks to tilt the camera angle where you can see it, he duplicates his helmet when he takes it off.

Play any Kirby game and it shows, for one. It isn't a carefully guarded secret that Kirby and Meta Knight are of the same race.

There is concept art for a Cubone without skull from Gen 1. Also, a glimpse of his head could be seen in an episode of the anime tv show.

Fun fact about Cubone. In the Detective Pikachu movie, it’s pretty clear to see a good portion of Cubone’s face when he appears at the beginning. While we don’t ever see him unmasked, the animators clearly had his entire face modeled underneath the skull. We just don’t have behind the scenes images of such. It leaves you wondering whether or not they were provided any references of Cubone’s actual face by GameFreak. Those animators would be the only ones to know!
Either that or they only modeled the parts we actually see, it's a very common modeling technique.
No cubone has a sad story about him. The cubones were actually Charmanders and they had these skulls and they are actually charizards skulls but those skulls are there mother because some of them died and the charmanders tails fire will go off because they wont a mother to protect them. And they can even learn fire type they are fighting time but they can also learn fire type so yeah thats the true story.

Mimikyu is basically a darkness version of Ditto that instead of transforming into other Pokémon (likely also because hating the fact that people are seeing all sorts of nightmarish things in darkness) decided to cover and use the disguise of one of the most popular Pokémon. Neat.
love 9 volt(he looks so adorable.),piantissimo ll,meta knight(if the anime comes back would love to see that with it's version of meta knight.) & captain falcon's(like to think the one in super smash bros. is the anime since they reference it in min min's reveal.) looks under their mask.

For shyguy, I think there is a book that shows you what is under the mask. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the book in a couple of years. I am not sure of it actually exists but if it does. Happy hunting!

Shy Guy isn't meant to be without his mask. It's either a 2nd mask model hidden somewhere, or a flat surface. From a design perspective, why would the designers need to add some features that won't be realistically seen? However, they might be related to Sniffits, so the maskless ghost versions seem reasonable. Nabbit's similar in not having unneeded details behind his mask, but he's never without his Bowser Jr mask at all.
Cubone's weird, possibly even crazy, since apparently all of their mothers died and they must wear the skulls of their mothers as tradition for grieving. Can we have like, a regional form or something where that doesn't happen? Guess it's a part of their character, but come on (then again, similarities to Charmander are good enough). Mimikyu's some ghastly entity that stole Pikachu's identity, or else you get cursed or whatever.
Pretty sure that Mimikyu's whole thing is it wanted to be loved and noticed that Pikachu was loved so of course it should disguise itself as Pikachu to be loved. Also if you see Mimikyu you are not cursed, the guy that saw it's true form was so terrified by what he saw that he just died.
