  • Can you believe it's time for the final results of the 2020 season?
It's been quite the year for all of us outside of the lawn care world but today I wanted to recap the various projects I had going this season and show you the final results of 2020. Snow has come early here and things are quickly starting to look like winter. In addition to the lawn renovation results, my friend Ryan DeMay talks with us about winterizing cool season lawns and what some of the latest research shows us about properly putting down a winterizer fertilizer.

Same here. Because I have my lawn since last year and knew nothing about it, I did nothing but mowed every week. And this year it is hard to fix but at least I started fertilizer and other scheduled treatments. Even though there’s a lot to do next year like tenacity, it will be one of the best lawn in the future among my neighborhood.

I was planning three weeks ago to put down my Winterizer. The weather wasn't cooperating. I had a window I planned to put down the fertilizer on a Tuesday. Mother Nature had other plans. She dumped 8" of heavy wet snow. WE did get a little warm weather it finally got melted down But, I had a thick layer of ice on the lawn. Plus.... another storm was coming in. So I did what I had to do. I raked the ice off the lawn. I got the Winterizer down. Got everything put away and it started to snow. There was another 4" of fresh snow now covering the lawn. It spose to warm up this week in the 40s. The melt down will be helpful. But I'll see what happens come spring. Nice to see all your project came out well.

Some days we get highest at 50F until the end of next week, then from 2nd wk of Nov, temp will be consistently max 44.6F during the day, and 32F at night.

Ryan, is that fescue you planted one of the GMO's that now have rhizomes? Through the camera with poor post stroke eyesight it doesn't look very dissimilar to KBG. Cheers.

Would like know this as well. I’m considering TTTF for my backyard but don’t like the real thick bladed, clumping stuff.
I live just outside Portland, OR, do you know of any sod farms who sell it? Thanks!
