I'm a father of a 3 year old toddler. I never knew my real dad. I do not want to repeat his mistakes, so when I came across your channel, it gave me a sense of hope and believe. A believe to become a better father.
As a Montessori teacher of many, many years (and I set up my own Bilingual Montessori school, and I am a teacher guide)... I had to pause this video to write a comment. You are already an amazing dad, communication and love are the cornerstones of raising amazing children (and parents!) I have recently subscribed to this channel because I think that she really gets the ethos and essence of Montessori (there are many so-called Montessori schools that don't get it). Remember, you are their first teacher, and you can open the world to them, because they love and trust you, and want to mimic you. However, they can teach you a lot too! Have you ever REALLY looked at a leaf or rock? How does it look, feel, smell etc.? Seeing the world with wonder is a gift they gift to us...if we accept it. Even brushing your teeth can be an adventure! I wish you all good things. May you be the role model that your little one needs; and may you find healing by sharing the journey with someone seeing everything for the first time.
I wish I had known about Montessori before. My daughter is 3 now and she is dependent on me. Mom guilt is very real right now. But I'm motivated through this videos to still introduce Montessori in our home.
Hello from Canada! Your channel is how I got on board with Montessori teachings! My 10 month old son is now potty trained, crawls in and out of his bed and knows what bed time means and puts away his own toys
0:38 Step #1- prepare yourself(explore Montessori video contents) 3:59 #2- assess your space(plan ahead for her independence in the near future/new house) 5:56 #3- Observe her 9:49 #4- Prepare environment Set up space for Indepence first Then shelves 13:41 #5- Practical life invitations
I really appreciated hearing about how you encourage language development from a young age. I've been curious because Kylie has the most advanced vocabulary that I've ever heard or seen from a child her age, it's incredible! Thank you for your wonderfully informative videos!
I am not planning on having kids yet at all (15) but when I will have kids I definitely want to use the Montessori techniques I just love how ur toddler is and behaves and I just see benefits. I want to educate myself early about Montessori because when I get pregnant I m gonna hav a plan
I grew up in Montessori and wanted to pass it on to our daughter, so this helps incredibly. As a military family, a lot of what's available is really far away. I'm also trilingual, so teaching our child a second language before two is something I've just started implementing. This video has been so so helpful and thank you for posting the playlist. ❤️🌹
Share an Amazon wishlist of toys, books, etc that you hope to get for your kiddos. Explain that your kiddos love "these toys". This way the grandparents can buy something useful, fun, educational and it will still be a happy surprise for the children.
Hello! In my younger years, I was a certified Montessori Pre- Primary Teacher. I wish at that time we had these wonderful videos to watch and share with families. You do a wonderful job explaining Dr. Montessori’s philosophy and methodologies! I am going to share your videos with my adult children so that they can (hopefully) choose to raise their future children utilizing the Montessori methods! A suggestion for future video content would be to make one explaining the rationale and methods to grandparents and other interested family members. Thank you for what you do! I love your content and delivery! ❤️👍
As a mom, I get down on myself sometimes, but watching this to see if I want to bring some montessori methods into our home, I realized I have already instinctively done far more than I knew... thank you for the encouragement!
I am so grateful for your channel. I have been a Montessori "teacher" (prefer the term 'directress', because observing and directing a child to follow their drive seems more appropriate) for many, many years (decades?!), and have trained Montessori teachers myself. You seem to have embraced the ethos and essence of Montessori more than so many so-called Montessori schools.
Thank you so much for emphasizing the need for us as parents to educate ourselves. I have been doing exactly what you said not to do, which is just jump in and do things we’ve seen without understanding the core structure of the system. My heart has been wanting to really dive all in and I finally have the time and inspiration to do it, and you just really solidified it for me with that statement. 💕💕💕love you always and you have impacted so many lives
loved this video ! My daughter is 18 months old and I try to let her help whenever she wants to! she likes washing the dishes with and whipping the counter and many other things. people keep telling me she will be trouble in the future because I don't try to govern her so much and let her do whatever she wants as long as it's safe. but I go with what my heart tells me and what I think is better for my child
i am newly starting my 10 month old onto this teaching and learning method. and i went out and bought books yaay. thanks for the knowledge. i even found a Montessori books on Amazon
Loves all the video clips of your oldest daughter being so independent! You and your husband are doing such a great job thanks for sharing and inspiring us parents to be and do the best for our child’s development!
im only 20 years old and VERY single and long way of being a mom but I am so invested in this! I love learning about montessori and I will definitely be implementing it when I do have kids! :)
Finding your channel a few months ago inspired me to completely change my way of thinking in terms of parenting. I have no children yet (we'll be getting to that soon hopefully) but after learning about the montessori method and watching your whole montessori at home playlist, I can't imagine using any other parenting style. I personally love how it fits with respectful parenting. I've also introduced my partner to montessori, and he is now on board with using this method when we do have kids. Finding this method now makes us very lucky, as we can implement it from the start rather than having another style already in place, and having to change everything. We also have a relatively blank canvas when it comes to our space as we have only recently bought and moved into our house. Your videos are my "go to" resources for everything montessori and even if I have questions at the beginning of each vid, you've usually answered them all by the end. Looking forward to even more fabulous content in the future. 🙂 X
I have a toddler, hes 2.5 and a 9 month old baby. I am totally lost, I dont want to be this yelling parent, but dont know where to start. Especially whit my older one. He is full of energy, doing things he should not do often, and I dont want to be saying NO allllll the time. Im so lost. I want to be a better partner. Help you guys. Pleaseee! 💕
I had no idea how much of my parenting style and things I’ve done around the house and how I treat my kids was Montessori, but wow! I’m so glad I found your channel, I’m excited to refine my craft even more ❤️
I want to use Montessori with my daughter, alongside other things. I dont have my daughter yet, but i am basically already doing it with other peoples children unknowingly. Especially the way you explained the talking to them and asking them/answering questions about things even when they cant speak. I worried perhaps I am creating shame and confusion if they have no way of talking back, but I am relieved I am actually doing something positive. 😊
I'm not even a mom yet lol But I learned about Montessori school when I was in college. I think it's a great method and I want to ise with my kids. In one of the schools I worked they started implemented some of the stuff but some of the parents didn't want to. Idk why. Thanks for the tips!!!
My daughter is 6 months old and she has been very active since 2 weeks old. I have noticed she has learned to do things on her own without me teaching them or telling her things. I came across Montessori and think this will fit perfectly with her but I didnt really know where to start. My home isnt super furnished or decorated just because I wanted my living space to be as safe for my daughter and I have also cleaned up a spare room to make it into her playroom since she can sit up on her own and is learning how to crawl. I honeslty think it is the perfect time to introduce Montessori style to her and would be something she would love since she is independent already. Thanks for the videos
Hi Ashley my name is Joi and I am from Atlanta Georgia I’m 63 years old the details long not needed. well let’s just say that I am a very very late finding you. I have been studying Montessori for the last year and a half! I am a nanny for a military family. I wish I had known the last 20 years ago. I would like to say thank you for the deeper depth of education and wisdom while your inspiration. Please keep doing what you’re doing you’re helping more people then you don’t even imagine. You really doing a good job and I am so thankful that I found you you’re helping me more than you realize I cannot wait to take some of your classes. Take care. 👍👏🏻🌻🍑💕
I don’t have kids yet but I love your videos! I watch every video that you upload and now I’ve gotten my husband on board! 👍🏼 thank you so much for sharing all that you know! 😊
Please please please do more activity ideas and tips for older child/pre-schoolers:) I feel very lucky to discovering your videos! And I would like to know how you keep the activity shelves for two children who are in different ages :) many thanks
My daughter is about Mia's age, and I first found your channel several months ago when we were starting baby-led weaning. At the time, I knew just a tiny bit about Montessori for older children and knew that was a schooling option we'd be interested in one day, but I was SO excited to learn that I could start implementing Montessori with her now. I've learned so much from you over the last few months, and I'm in the process of doing some of the things you mention in this video and reading through the books on your Amazon list. Thanks for what you do! It's truly making a difference.
thank you for this video. i'm not really a mom but a sister that would be 18 years apart from the baby that is currently on my mom's belly. i'm going to suggest this to my parents, because i have a lot of issues about how they brought me up.
Love love love your channel !!! Im a grandma of an 22 month old and am eagar to implament the montessori method with my grand baby. There is so much information to read and learn. It can seem over whelming at first. I guess baby steps and consistency is a good place to start. Thanks a bunch❤️
I already have most of the stuff with out even notice. Bathroom specially my two years old she’s super independent. 😮 Definitely I will get same ideas for the living room.thank you so much for the information
You are so great at keeping the interest of the viewer. And explaining everything in ways that are realistic and easy to understand. Congratulations on your channel growth! You totally deserve it! I enjoy you and your content more than you know!
How to get started for late bloomers? How to set up kid friendly breakfast stations when you're past toddlerhood? That's a video I long for, LOVE your videos.
I was actually educated in Montessori schools (preschool & elementary), but now as a brand new parent I’m a little lost. But I’m sure that it’s something I want for my little one. So I’ve started learning about Montessori from the other side.
Love your videos. I work full time, and just started implementing Montessori at home about 5 months ago. My daughter is 15 months and we feel like these videos along with some of the books you’ve suggested have really helped us be more successful. Keep up the great work! Love, The Lima Family
I’m a parent seeking for in-home Montessori. Your videos are helping so much since I knew NOTHING! Thank you so much for all your videos and INFO. Bless you!
I love this so much. My son is 3 months old and I talk to him constantly- he’s always making responsive sounds and reactions to what I say based upon my tone of voice. Could you please let me know where you found that step with the borders that your daughter was standing on to make her snacks?
Thank you so much for this! I’ve been getting more of the Montessori type toys you’ve been recommended for babies(I have an 8.5 month old) but was feeling like it was too late to start and didn’t know where to start. So thank you, love your videos! ❤️
It's never too late to start. What I love about montessori toys is that they will keep yoir child interested even as they get older. I still habe my permanence box when I was a child and I'm 25 😅
What a great resource Ashley! Thank you for creating these. And can I also say thank you for being someone I can actually watch. I've tried watching other Montessori videos but get so annoyed by the presenter for one reason or another. Yours are the only ones I can watch on a consistent basis and fully enjoy.
You are a rockstar. Almost 100k subs! You deserve it! Thanks to you I apply several things to my 9 mo girl and she is developing wonderfully! Thanks Ashley!!!
Thanks. I needed this. Since having the second baby 9 months ago I've kind of started deglecting my three year old's montessori structure. When you said, "don't just say 'go play," that hit me right in the gut. ❤️
My husband and I are going to start trying for a family in August, Lord willing. I’m going to buy your course when I find out I’m pregnant! I’ve been following you for months (on another account) with the mindset that I would watch your videos for what to do, but I’m so excited you’ve made an e-course that will condense it all for me! (:
You’re very articulate when you speak and i aspire to be more like you as a mom. I’ve been attempting this but haven’t gone full force yet as i wasn’t fully educated but now i feel in there so i will b implementing starting tomorrow lol I’ve been doing things somewhat right as far as decluttering etc but i do need to get rid of some toys lol
I love your videos. I have a baby boy that is 7 months. These videos have helped and inspired me so much. I was already interested in Montessori at home and your videos helped guide me in the right direction. Thank you for posting your journey
I'm a mom of 3 children My 1st born son which is 8 years old and twin boy which is 4 months old I would love to implement this .I don't know where to start ,however I would love the link for the books
What a fantastic video again, thank you so much!!! You are by far my most favourite person to learn from here when it comes to Montessori education. What a gem your channel is!!! :D :D xxx
Thank you thank you! I’m loving your channel! It’s really helpful. I’m an elementary teacher with a 12 year old and a 3 1/2 year old and I’m just learning about Montessori. What do I do with all the plastic toys I already have that my son likes?
I love your videos so much they have been so helpful to me! I've been slowly implementing montessori philosophies at home with my 12 month old. It feels a little overwhelming but your videos have helped everything seem more manageable and I've learned a lot of great tips. I look forward to watching the montesorri in small spaces video next. Thanks so much for creating this free content for your viewers!
I've been interested in Montessori and your videos were the first ones I've watched. Thank you for your great content!!!! You're so informative and straightforward!!!! I appreciate it so much. :)
I definitely want to do Montessori when I have children, but my partner doesn't agree with a few things. How did you get your husband on board? Btw thank you for being an inspiration to us all.
I am so glad I found your channel.... I am currently expecting and will have to invest time to learn Montessori ways and implement this. Thank you for all your tips!!! Downloaded some books and will be reading up on this.
I wonder if there's ever been this many parents who've chosen this method of education all at once. This also makes me wonder, if not, how these children will interact with the world and with each other. I hope that these children have the ability to change the world for the better.
This just made me smile.😃😊 Thank you for this video, it’s very informational! I learned something new for my two year old son. I will practice this with him asap.
Your channel is great! It took me this entire video to cut my 3 month olds nails. I was appreciative to have the audio going on in the background to give me patience lol
hi Ashley, you pratice Montessori so well at home, do you still think it is nessisary to send ur kids to Montessori school after? Question from the family not wealthy enough to pay Montessori school..
This is so educational! I will for sure be implementing this when I have children of my own! I was wondering, how would I know or measure if my/a child is improving within their practical skills and activities? (Its simple to evaluate academics such as reading and writing) what about activity based learning? Any suggestions on how I can "measure" their improvement in the practical learning category?
Hello from Australia! I love your channel but one of the biggest reservations i have with giving my 14 month old independence to roam around is my dog....could you do a video maybe about what to do with pets in the house that may or may not like the toddler chasing them around...and especially possessive dogs!! and how do you keep kylie away from the oven and stove whilst you are cooking?? thanks!
hi, I am a Montessori directness that follows you , may I correct you it's not called schema but sensitive periods and there are lots of Montessori books talking about "sensitive periods " as for small objects, movement, order.I really enjoy your videos.🤗
I love your philosophy of parenting! I'm not a mom....yet...but hopefully in the near future. I was wondering if/how daycare fits in to your Montessori practice?Unfortunately, daycare will have to be a reality for us,
Hello, love your channel. New to it and the Montessori approach. I would appreciate your help. No harm in trying and asking, right? My daughter just turned 1yo. We've been told that she's really active. We bought open shelves but she just pulls everything off, leaves everything on the floor and doesn't really play with anything. The same goes for reading. I've been reading to her daily since she was about a week old. But since she's mobile she just crawls, runs around or climbs on me trying to touch the books, take them from me and then tries to tear them apart. She loves helping me with the laundry for example, but basically she will just take things from the hamper/machine and then carry them around apartment and dropping them anywhere. With the new people, places etc. she is great, engaging, wanting to talk to them, observing ... It's just at home that I can't seem to get her focus on anything. We used to have more open shelves but now we close our stuff. In 5 minutes she can make such a mess that you then takes about 20 minutes to clean, sort up. I know babies don't have a long attention span but she really seems to be interested only in running around, climbing on things and carrying them around. Any suggestions?
I'm a father of a 3 year old toddler. I never knew my real dad. I do not want to repeat his mistakes, so when I came across your channel, it gave me a sense of hope and believe. A believe to become a better father.

Praise God. Praying for your success in parenting!

men who didn’t have fathers growing up always tend to want to break the cycle!! go you ! my husband is the same 😊

I've been doing Montessori for a year now and was nodding to every step you explained. Nailed it! So well articulated. Thanks, Ashley
Hello from Canada! Your channel is how I got on board with Montessori teachings! My 10 month old son is now potty trained, crawls in and out of his bed and knows what bed time means and puts away his own toys
Natasha Brauner please make a video on this. ❤️
Been thinking about it. I'm a young homemaker in Canada
wow thats awesome. i'd love to see that as well. My little girl is 10 months too.
Glad to hear! I used the exact potty training method as this channel. Started at 6 months
I potty trained my baby at 3 months old. She drives herself to work now at 1 years old, it's great

How do you manage grandparents and other family members who buy things for baby and may encourage things that aren’t aligned with Montessori?
Keep the receipts lol tell them what you'd like before hand
Share an Amazon wishlist of toys, books, etc that you hope to get for your kiddos. Explain that your kiddos love "these toys".
This way the grandparents can buy something useful, fun, educational and it will still be a happy surprise for the children.

I go to a Montessori school and also went to a Montessori kindergarten. Extremely educational and awesome learning, can’t complain
Please do a video on Schemas. Really love this video! Thanks Ashley❤
The hidden gem has them she is lovely very informative and helpful I would recommend checking her out
a schema is basically a pocket of knowledge that keeps expanding as they learn
The parenting junkie has some great videos as well and one about schemas!

Amazon has them and pretty much everything else.
This is the most useful parent content ever on this platform. Thank you so much for your hard work!!!

Can u please do another video about how to discipline with more examples of u disciplining ur kids.
You are a rockstar. Almost 100k subs! You deserve it! Thanks to you I apply several things to my 9 mo girl and she is developing wonderfully! Thanks Ashley!!!
I love you, you’re exactly what I need in my life. Thank you for your advice!
Thanks. I needed this. Since having the second baby 9 months ago I've kind of started deglecting my three year old's montessori structure. When you said, "don't just say 'go play," that hit me right in the gut. ❤️
Thank you! Such a great content delivered in a normal way. I didn’t feel overwhelmed at all. And it is new to me. Appreciate so much!!
Wow, I naturally do this stuff already and never knew that it had a name
Thank you so much. My daughter is 14 mo and I didn't know where to start. She's not walking yet but I'm definitely going to start adapting our space 😊
I was looking for this type of Video and finally found your channel. I just love the way you talk.
I love your videos. I have a baby boy that is 7 months. These videos have helped and inspired me so much. I was already interested in Montessori at home and your videos helped guide me in the right direction. Thank you for posting your journey
I bought that “the Montessori toddler” book and excited for that new path...
I love your channel thanks!
I'm a mom of 3 children
My 1st born son which is 8 years old and twin boy which is 4 months old I would love to implement this .I don't know where to start ,however I would love the link for the books
Beautiful!!! I am very excited because I am already doing those things intuitively so now I’ll get to study and learn all about Montessori at home!
What a fantastic video again, thank you so much!!! You are by far my most favourite person to learn from here when it comes to Montessori education. What a gem your channel is!!! :D :D xxx
Would love an video on schemas!! What a fab ideal and so helpful to parents!
Thank you thank you! I’m loving your channel! It’s really helpful. I’m an elementary teacher with a 12 year old and a 3 1/2 year old and I’m just learning about Montessori. What do I do with all the plastic toys I already have that my son likes?
Thank you for plenty of helpful links and information!
What does he not agree with?
I am so glad I found your channel.... I am currently expecting and will have to invest time to learn Montessori ways and implement this. Thank you for all your tips!!! Downloaded some books and will be reading up on this.
Thank you for all the wonderful resources!
I wonder if there's ever been this many parents who've chosen this method of education all at once. This also makes me wonder, if not, how these children will interact with the world and with each other. I hope that these children have the ability to change the world for the better.
I had never heard of Montessori schooling/ teaching... very interested and leaning towards it! Thank you for sharing and giving great detailed!
Hi! Thank you for sharing ideas! I really appreciate it. I have a 4 month old son and I am planning to adapt montessori education at home.

Video is packed with so much info I’ll have to rewatch later ☺️ thank you for the content !
This video is fantastic. Thank you so much for your passion!
thank you very much this for explaining all the detail very nicely and this video will help me to care my son as u said. :)
My first child is Six months old and you really got me on board with your channel!! Do you have tips to get started?
hi Ashley, you pratice Montessori so well at home, do you still think it is nessisary to send ur kids to Montessori school after? Question from the family not wealthy enough to pay Montessori school..
No. Home play ' s the biggest role
Your doing a great job! Wish you could start a podcast.
just found your channel! binging :))
Hello from Australia! I love your channel but one of the biggest reservations i have with giving my 14 month old independence to roam around is my dog....could you do a video maybe about what to do with pets in the house that may or may not like the toddler chasing them around...and especially possessive dogs!! and how do you keep kylie away from the oven and stove whilst you are cooking?? thanks!
Um, put the dog outside. Choose your kid.
I love ur dedication and care for ur children. It’s so sweet ❤️
hi, I am a Montessori directness that follows you , may I correct you it's not called schema but sensitive periods and there are lots of Montessori books talking about "sensitive periods " as for small objects, movement, order.I really enjoy your videos.🤗
She said sensitive periods what are you correcting ?
I was looking for a video like this thank you!
Big thumbs up! You are so awesome and I am thankful for your channel!

Great video! I love your channel! I'm more now motivated to start Montessori and know where to start and the priprities 😍
Could you please do a video on sensitive periods and how to make the most of them? ♡
Thank you very much, it has been very helpful ❤
Thank you for your content! I really enjoy it. Which of Maria Montessori's works have you read and which do you most recommend?
I love your philosophy of parenting! I'm not a mom....yet...but hopefully in the near future. I was wondering if/how daycare fits in to your Montessori practice?Unfortunately, daycare will have to be a reality for us,
Just found your channel and i love it! So much to learn jeje. Thank you for your info!
I love this video! Very helpful!
Hello, love your channel. New to it and the Montessori approach. I would appreciate your help. No harm in trying and asking, right?
My daughter just turned 1yo. We've been told that she's really active. We bought open shelves but she just pulls everything off, leaves everything on the floor and doesn't really play with
anything. The same goes for reading. I've been reading to her daily since she was about a week old. But since she's mobile she just crawls, runs around or climbs on me trying to touch the books, take them from me and then tries to tear them apart. She loves helping me with the laundry for example, but basically she will just take things from the hamper/machine and then
carry them around apartment and dropping them anywhere.
With the new people, places etc. she is great, engaging, wanting to talk to them, observing ... It's just at home that I can't seem to get her focus on anything.
We used to have more open shelves but now we close our stuff. In 5 minutes she can make
such a mess that you then takes about 20 minutes to clean, sort up. I know
babies don't have a long attention span but she really seems to be
interested only in running around, climbing on things and carrying them around.
Any suggestions?
Thank you for the great introductory video. I subscribed and look forward to watching your other videos.
