imo 100% ultra-nightmare is the only category worth watching. Seeing how progressively more cracked out of their mind players could get since the game came out blew my mind. I just feel bad that byte me never held a candle to the runners for eternal considering how hard he worked at 2016

Eternal is the 1st Doom/Single player FPS game that I continue to play. After beating it on UV then Nightmare and finally Ultra Nightmare it's the most innovative FPS game of the last two decades. You should try it really is in it's own category.

Wait is the bhop boost actually random or just has a really tight timing? I found out about it shortly after launch and starting incorporating it in general play because I love bhopping mechanics and with scroll-wheel jumping I get them pretty consistently
probably said it because it’s heavily dependent on your frame rate, where if you don’t have as high of one sometimes you just might not be able to do it at all, it’s not truly random just finicky is what i’m guessing

I've realized that Punch Swapping/Ballista Boosting is just a very modern form of Tau Cannon jumping from Half-Life 1. That makes me happy to see.
It’s so fun to see movement mechanics be continued in modern games, they even go back to the original doom with rocket/archvile jumps, wall running, and even void clipping.
Even if I wanted to, I can’t exactly play DOOM: Eternal for two reasons:
1. I dislike using controllers, not consoles, just controllers.
2. I still use a 2013 Lenovo laptop with supposedly used parts in it, which has a tendency to overheat if I sit on the menu screen of some games for too long and refuses to run others for more than 5 minutes. ( Like Gmod or Starbound for the first, and Hollow Knight or People Playground for the second. )
I used to hate controllers as well, but once you get accustomed to them you really start to see the benefits (especially when using back buttons).
What did you think of the Mars core master level?

wait, wait, wait... the BFG crashes the game? I've logged almost 145 hours and that's never happened to me. Is there some certain condition that needs to be met?
nope, happens all the time, and at random, less so on current patch but it still happens
bfg crashing is random, some people get it all the time, while others either rarely get it or just straight up never get it all.
@@ruthleshunter ok. I suppose it would be less likely to happen in my case, I almost never fire it. Got bored of using it after the third trigger pull or so, and even did a whole run through the game with no super weapons. I really only fire it if there's a lot of strong demons and I'm low health

Oh yeah, it's the Pineapple that makes the Doom speedrun community weird, not the use of save-and-quit exploiting, a major glitch in the game, in the 'No Major Glitches' category.

There should be a fap category meaning fast as possible which enables every single glitch and cheat code
Remember that weird thing a year or two ago where everyone was using the term "masterpiece" to describe games? Even ones they hadn't played? Weird.

some would say the switch version is a direct downgrade, but people like me (who have awful PCs) would gladly take a stable framerate over better visuals.

No major glitches is simply not an interesting category for Doom. It should be called "Mostly glitches" instead.
