It's probably my favorite design from topps since 2018. I absolutely love the look of this year, and the black tops makes the neon team logos pop. Great video Jabs !

Yeah, I love this design. Rides a nice line between feeling modern and retro without being overbearing about it. Like, I could see a full set in a binder being really fun to flip through because of the design.
Jumbos nixing the manufactured relic is huge. Love that they're adding a second real relic in its place.

I'd give 2024 Topps a 9 out of 10 simply because I always loved the nostalgic art of neon signs. The two-tone borders do remind me of the '86 design and I think it's awesome. I'm definitely going to buy my favorite players & rookies in this set. Congrats 🎉 Topps for creating an ultra cool design since 2018.👍🏼🔥

Opened my first ever jumbo box, got super lucky and pulled an autograph patch card, red numbered 3/5. Also, i really like the new design. Pops!

How do u tell the SP,s and the SSP,s different from the regular cards?
I don't like the neon lights for the teams, but overall I think they did a good job with the design. It's always a great day when the new Topps series comes out.

Maybe Topps went with the black borders to hopefully help control the amount of PSA 10’s that hit the market. How many JRod ‘22 Update PSA 10 cards are out there? Way too many, white borders, very easy to get a 10. Maybe now, a PSA 10 Elly will actually mean it is a Gem Mint 10, perfect card. Yes it will be tougher to get a 10, but then the ones that due should actually hold more value than just the cost to grade it. If Topps did do this with this theory in mind, I applaud them. If not, could just be my opinion, either way, I think the design is friggin awesome. Can’t wait to open tons of hangers when they hit the shelf. Great vid as always Jabs 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Erik, I've watched 3 jumbos opened and zero manufactured relics. What I'm most upset about is not being able to put the whole series set together from a hobby box. Keep up your excellent content and thanks for letting us all know what is in store when we get to opening 2024.
I used to have so many stats memorized as well back in 90 to 95
I'll have to stick with a regular box in that case. I liked being able to make the whole set and then get blasters to chase inserts.

I love the design. I saw a music shirt that had that Neon design, the same font, and everything. I think it was Whitney Houston or someone hip hop or R & B.
It reminds me of their old neon signs at Original Tiger Stadium in Detroit. Very art deco.
I love the inserts and relics this year, my one fear is Print Run and that the base set is now 350 or 360, I think.
Hey Jabs, also noticed that all of the cards are going the same way, not flipped every other way like usual lol! And, the hits are the only cards flipped around. I'm sure that's a big plus for you!

I didn't think there were gold cards in 2011. I've only ever heard of people chasing the anniversary parallels which weren't numbered. I've never seen a gold trout rookie.

one thing I noticed was the hits seem to have a white-ish boarder instead of the black that I do like btw but maybe the hits will be better to grade...?

Not a fan of the style this year. Especially the neon team name, but getting two game used relic instead of a manufactured relic is awesome.
manufactured are still a thing to answer. i seen stryker open a jumbo with one. they are the home sweet home ones

Best design in years. Better than 2018, which I don't really like all that much for the base, but the parallels in 2018 looked terrific. This one has an 86 feel that I like.

The first break I watched had a Henry Davis RPA /25.
I think they got rid of the manufactured cards. Watched a few breaks and so far they all pulled 2 real patches.

Topps doesn't typically come out limping, so get em early.
Anyone know how much these will be at a LCS?
Really depends on the individual stores. But I think the standard is somewhere between 10%-20% above their wholesale cost. So if the wholesale price is, lets say $150, then an LCS in general would charge somewhere between $165-$180 or so.

There doesn't seem to be many manufacturerd relics
They replaced them with “player-worn” relics, which are only slightly less gimmicky

I like the design. I'm glad they finally changed the backs of the cards. Seems like they've been the same design since 17 or 18. Stinks they keep shorting cards in the packs. Wonder why their doing that. Love your vids jabs.

Disappointed Jackson Churio isn't in Series 1, but I do like the cards - especially the 1989 Topps throwbacks!

I am not doing cards this year because I am doing something else so I’m planning on getting back into it in 2025 that way it will be fully updated from the trades that ware made during the postseason after the world series

Didn’t watch the entire video, but get a Yennier Cano, Orioles card, Topps did something cool,with the photo and the team name!! Also, as far as this set, I like the design, but not of the photos. There are no action shots with multiple players, like someone sliding into 2nd or home. Also miss seeing more of the stadium settings in the background, most of these are just blurry backgrounds.
I know you are all excited to buy this stuff, but jeez, that was a terrible pull from the first jumbo. I've watched several of these and I'd say Topps is pushing the patches...yikes. I just think this was over-printed with multiple doubles in the jumbos. Wait and buy the set?
Always buy the set. Way cheaper and a better hedge.
its nice to get two regular relics. the only way those manufactured ones are any good are is if they are your PC, numbered or auto'd.

I opened two jumbos and two hobbies today. I got 1 Elly base card. That is ridiculous. The only numbered were 2 golds of no one and 1 green of Kopech. What a waste of
How would I go about acquiring those George Brett cards you pulled? You could save me a ton of trouble tracking them down in other ways. Why do I never get the “George Brett” loaded boxes? 😮😂
Compared to the 2023 design which as in my opinion top notch so going from that to this is like going trump to biden. Not my flavor of ice cream is all.
