This one's been a long time coming I feel, my last Batman edit was in, what, 2012? There are numerous callbacks I have in here to older edits. If anyone remembers my edits for TDKR and Under the Red Hood, you'll see the similarities I have in here and certain motifs I like to do often. For me, this was hugely nostalgic because those edits were very personal to me and I wanted to recapture some of those vibes as well as push my craft forward by tackling my first live action Batman film.
This movie has become my favorite live action Batman film and I just love the cinematography and gritty realism of it, it was a joy to pair it up to one of my favorite new bands, Loathe, who ironically sound quite similar to Deftones on this particular album. This song is really powerful and I feel the dynamics of it work so well with this movie.
Hope you guys enjoy the edit, this one was certainly a passion project for me, staying up until 8 or 9 AM to find time to work on it. Thanks for leaving such nice comments, I'm very happy to read them!

The dramatic and slow moments really lift this for me. Most of the timing is fantastic, with his cape gliding as my favorite section here. Loved the mirroring effects in the close ups of Batman and Selina Kyle and really dug the blinkering when the Batmobile drives in during the funeral. Great stuff!

This movie goes well with a lot of the songs I like. Just the other night I played it on mute with Nirvana's Nevermind

Those are so old but I am super glad to hear people still remember them. Deftones/Loathe and Batman are such a nice mix, but I ran out of good movies to use LOL. I thought about doing a Batman Forever edit and trying to make it look cool instead of goofy.
