Damn, did this take some practicing!
Let me start off by saying ILIIAITE is easily one of my favorite records of the past DECADE, or even all time. So to learn this whole thing in full, was my pleasure.
I can't say this is 100% accurate. It's more-so my interpretation of it. Although I did make a point to cover every song in it's original tuning, more or less.
I decided with this video to go with a 1 take, no edit type of video. With that said, there's plenty of mistakes I made. But I felt that made the video more "genuine" in ways. I guess if ya wanna see the songs played as accurate as possible, watch my other Loathe covers? lol
Unfortunately due to my camera's video limit restriction, I can't record 1 video for longer than 30 minutes. SO - at the end of "Is It Really You?" you'll see an obvious cut. It just was unavoidable, but my main goal was to have the audio one constant track - which it is!
At times you may notice a consistent "clicking" going on. That's because I had a click track for all the songs and in the camera audio i blended it for string noise and such. Hope it's not too annoying/distracting!

I love how complex and odd-sounding their heavy riffs are. It's like they take every "wrong" note and put them together to make them work. Mad respect.
The guitar work on the new album is amazing but not compared to the cold sun those riffs were something else

@@tom_dilley it goes in between soft tones on the guitar and then right back to punchy most bands nowadays have flabby undesirable guitar tones that sound horrible

dude this is absolutely insane in every single way. there's so much complex harmony and dissonance and you nailed every single bit of it, not to mention the insane rhythms. Holy hell has anyone gotten this in front of Loathe yet? they need to see this prodigy

I've tried to hit up Spiritbox to see if maybe Courtney would wanna collab on a song of mine and/or show them a cover I did of their song "Aphids" and I didn't hear anything. I had stuff to show them and everything😔 They probably receive a ton of messages unfortunately or didn't want to respond. I do agree though, he nailed it and I loved studying his technique

Didn't even realized how actually technical this album is! Great job at covering each and every song, too! Fun side note tho, this album actually proved me wrong when I argued with my dad that you can't tune to Drop E and lower on 6 string, hahah.

you fucking nailed this. this album has easily become one of my favorites of all time. Listening to it over and over and watching videos of them playing live is so rad, but seeing visually the technicality and the way you performed these songs gives me just ANOTHER huge way to appreciate their style of writing.
