Lovely! Painting the bird added so much. I generally use vintage photo, but switch it up sometimes with walnut stain or scorched timber, or even black soot.

Hi Barbara❣️ Yep, I’ve had the same 🤦♀️🤷🏼♀️ “oh no!!!” issue with those seemingly powerful teeny magnets. I found that the problem is the thickness of what we’re using to cover them. Just copy paper works well. Keep making those “mistakes” - which we all know are just embellishment opportunities ❣️ Hugs 🤗💜 - Robin 🌵

Love the edge stitching! I use walnut stain for most edges, but if I’m doing something spring-y or pastel, I occasionally use Victorian Velvet. Have a great day, my friend!

I like walnut stain but also now loving the scorched timber as well. Also like stitching in brown mostly.
Vitntage photo and walnut stain. I also use stabilo all in black to edge things. Loved the "make-up" job on the bird!
The magnet struggle is so relatable. I cannot make them work under papers!! I cant help thinking I"m buying the wrong magnets.. but I'm just not sure.. I kind of gave up on them lol

Love your blushing shimmery bird. She’s obviously blushing because she feels so pretty with her shiny feathers 😊 The magnet thing is weird, I’m guessing the force of the flap trying to lift is just a little too much for the magnet once it’s covered, maybe because the stitching is adding to the paper pull? 🤷♀️ Maybe try really reinforcing the fold with your little iron, particularly over the stitching. Mind you, the paperclip is actually a cute touch that fits well with the other fabric bits. Really love this digital kit. So pretty & serene 💕🤗

I use tiny Velcro dots for my closures
I used to love Vintage Photo, but mine turned greenish in colour after a while. I must go and get Walnut Stain or a more milk chocolatey brown. Love your envelope. Thanx for this lovely video. I should use my photo paper more often.

Another beautiful video. 😊 I gave up long ago making the magnet look good -- all I do now is put a piece of tape over it (aged with alcohol ink). I ❤ the junky look now.
Beautiful digitals and envelope with tag despite the snags. 😊 I was using Walnut Stain for my inking until I got a hold of Scorched Timber😊 I'm sure I'll go back to Walnut Stain since I finished the journal I was working on. Somehow I like to use the same color for inking throughout the journal. Quirky, I know! 😊
My go to inking is either black soot or vintage photo.😊

Love this series, my favorite was always vintage photo but lately I have been leaning more towards walnut stain. I have been using it lightly and been liking the brown tone better 😊. Looking forward to seeing your next digital 😊😊
Hi Barbara. I hope you're well ... I recently bought some distress inks ( proper good quality Ranger inks) and started experimenting with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso to edge pieces. And honestly it just depends on the individual piece and project.
I love this kit ( I love all your kits - and will systematically buy them all 😊). I really like how this turned out. 💙

I love the shimmer of the Mica Sprays! I thought maybe you were going to not use your Gold Splatters since the Micas were shiny. But you pulled them out in the end. Lol. I’m stumped about your magnets too. I use those same magnets and they are strong little buggers! Anyway, love these digitals and everything you did with them.

what a disaster those magnets. i was absolutely puzzled when i watched your trials. the only one trial i would personally add before moving to an alternative solution is substituting the 2nd magnet with a washer able to attract magnets.
What the heck with the magnets. Those little guys are typically very strong. That was weird. I use walnut stain a lot, now I like scorched timber as well. It all depend on paper and theme Another great video. Thank you

Oh, nooo! 😂 I hate to say that it makes me smile that these things happen to other people too. I just made a cover that turned out fairly unattractive and then sewed in the signatures so crooked I had to find something to cover them with on the spine. I don't know what happened but I do not want to make another one so we will call it a journal with personality.

The wee birdie's 'makeover' is absolutely beautiful. 💗 And I love the swan lace. I adore happy accidents and special finds. 🧡💚🤎 P.S. I don't ink the edges of everything, but when I do, I often use Vintage Photo. If I want something darker, then I have a Versa Colour ink called 'Pinecone'. That said, I'll also use Brayed Furlap, or Furred Bralap, or whatever. 😉 🧡💚🤎
Beautiful page, all the colours and textures, makes me so happy to look at. ❤❤❤ ( I looked again at the magnet situation, you put glue on the side which must stick to the other magnet, will never work. Paper or fabric is different than glue, is a wet medium, interferes with the magnetic field. So the glue must be on the other side of the magnet, the repellant one).

I think you just had too many layers of paper/cloth for that tiny magnet. But a fun project!

A lovely outcome, as always. I just have a random question: when you think in which language do you do it? Or when you write in your journal / planner which comes to your mind first? I am asking because, even though there is an equivalent in Greek, when I make my notes about journals I use English terms. Just courius. Thanx, 💙

I think too many layers. You were already going through the two layers with the magnet behind the sentiment, then when you put it inside, there was another fairly thick layer and even the fabric added a third layer. Maybe only one or two thin layers might have worked. Tissue paper on the bottom instead of the fabric would have been thinner on the outside and might have worked with the two layers on the sentiment. I have those same magnets and yes they are strong but I've never tried with more than two layers between - something to cover them. My issue is always getting them going together instead of against each other! Not I'm curious just how many layers of what thickness they can work with and if more than one together can go through more layers, different thicknesses. Another thing you might have tried is using the storks as a tuck for the edge of the flap. I've seen that work for closures but I don't know how stiff the fold/paper is. It might have needed a flatter crease on the flap.
I appreciate you showing the "real" process. That's one of the many reasons I love your channel. BTW the rosy cheeks are adorable. 😍😍😍
