Evrant that’s not a buffering issue. It’s a mix between the frequency of the lights in the lightsaber vs the frame rate of my camera.

It's fun because the Obi Ani scene in the film is an excellent showcase of what happens when two fencers (or duelists in general) know each other incredibly well - they end up spinning without making contact for a few seconds, trying to gauge each other, before moving almost in perfect sync. It really makes sense, since they've trained together for thousands of hours and fought in the clone wars side by side!

Already learned this a few years ago, but I wish I had had this kind of tutorial. You made it really easy to understand. It took me forever to figure out what the actual move was that made it look so fluid when I was learning it.

@Gregory DeAngelis ah yes, I forgot lightsabers were real and we weren't just holding a metal hilt with a giant clear tube attached to it. You're right, the blade is *totally* weightless

prequels are fencing and rapier techniques, while sequels are broadsword techniques. that’s why they look so strange.
and the lightsabers work like knives instead of laser swords that can cut your limbs and kill you instantly
Another tip: Don't take your fingers off the hilt. Gonna break or hit something or someone. All in the wrist. Literally.
I've completely mastered this move even before watching this video. Now, try it with a saber staff
