    Another very important consideration when choosing your rack is the vehicle hauling it. If it is an RV like us, you need to consider the racks distance from the rear axle. If it is over 5 feet, dynamic forces come into play that down grade a racks weight rating. We had ordered the Kuat with a weight rating that worked for us but in the fine print, as explained above, they downgraded their racks carrying capacity for RVs such that it no longer suited us. That's when we ordered the 1 up in this video.
    Love it! Class A diesel pusher application but will also see duty behind a 4x4 off road. Believe me, it is up to the challenge. Be sure to order all your skewer locks and add-on locks when you order and they will all be keyed alike. First class workmanship. Ordered the extended ramp as well but we keep it inside our storage bay and instead added the 1 up license plate adaptor on the end and added LED lights. (1 up also sells the plate adaptor with lights).
    Need a cover? Check out Team Obsidian's HD Travel Cover. Tip: If ordering for 2 e-bikes, as suggested to us in the comments, do order the cover for 3 bikes. That fits our 2 fat tire e-bikes perfectly snug. Happy trails!

    I am SO glad you posted this. I just got my ebike and realised its much bigger and heavier than most... so i have no way to tow it yet. I am very thankful for this video!! Thank you

    Thank you for posting such an informative video. I recently purchased a 1up super duty rack. I noticed something that you could address in the future maybe for added content.
    In addition to my super duty rack order, I included wheel locks for two Himiway fat tire bikes. When I assembled the rack I was surprised to see that 1up did not send security bolts to bolt the degree plate and tray assemble to the base. I realize there are a number of ways to steal a bike but why make it too easy. Without four security bolts a thief could just unbolt the two tray assemblies and remove trays with bike locked in place. This renders all locks useless. I know I can purchase more locks to secure the bolts but 1Up seems focused on selling locks and not providing good customer service.
    This is a well engineered product but It make no sense to add locks while providing an easy theft work around.

    Great Review., nice edit and b-roll with drone and action cameras. I found this video after I ordered the XD w/add-on, and accessories. I find the build quality excellent as expected for being American Made. And yes, that comes at a premium for a company known for being best in class. The two founders that now have each their own company, have similar design and quality 1Up and QuickerStuff .... My truck has a 2.5" receiver and I called 1Up and the sales staff understood the cost of system I ordered and provided a free shipping code for a 2.5" x 2.5" x 0.5" Angle Iron shim complete with security pin hole cut-out....cost is $28. Setting the angle iron shim opposite to ball tightener corner , allows ball tightener to apply pressure to receiver and shim insert . simple elegant design. Also, I prefer the 1Up tool usage required design that is more structurally sound....I don't doubt the QuickerStuff Mach 2 tool less system is convenient, but it seems that feature is more prone to reliability issues with all those multi-part latches and levers for all the tool less points. time will tell.

    That is the rack I wish I would have bought. My bikes are xl and heavy. My dream set up would be that with a rigd swing away.

    Nice review as always. I still do well with my 1up heavy duty for my enduro mtb (Decoy), but I have seen some big emtbs around here. I would hesitate to call them mtb, more electric motos really.. At least I know it I go there, I can get a rack I trust.

    Thanks for the great review. Does the tailgate open with just a single XD rack? I’m either getting this rack or the QuikR Mach 2 for my 73lb Emtb.

    Do you think adding 2 super duty attachments to your setup make it extended pretty far out since the 2 extreme duty are spaced out pretty far. Looking at getting this setup even though it’s only rated for 3 attachments. I only have regular road bikes but wanted to make it future proof. Mainly going to be using it for 2 adult bikes and 2 kid bikes. Seems like overkill I know but it’s future proof when I do want heavy e-bikes down the road.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  Před 4 měsíci

      I think it will be fine, specially with lighter bikes. This 2-bike base structure is really beefy.

      @@EMTBReview do you recommended the setup I listed above or should I go with the super duty setup? I’m torn between the two

    how does this compare to KUAT PISTON PRO X?

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  Před 6 měsíci +1

      This one is much beefier with that 150 lb capacity. I believe Piston Pro is 67 lbs.
      The Piston Pro though is much more refined and has an incredibly easy arm locking and raising mechanism. This 1up is more manual and industrial for strength

    I have a surron (electric moto) and an Emtb, I just ordered this rack but holy shyt was it ever expensive (over 1500 canadian after taxes with the ramp and wheel lock included)

    • @michaeltedesco6774
      @michaeltedesco6774 Před 7 měsíci

      @meapplejak it's winter here so I don't have it installed and tested yet. It came in the mail last week. Looks awesome. Additionally Duty fees upon arrival. If you don't have 1700+ CAD to dish out atm, you can use a cheap dirtbike hitch carrier with ratcheting straps. I'll let you know how much better the 1UP set up is. Also keep in mind, if your gonna do two surrons that's a significant weight load. Check the load capacities on your hitch.

    I guess it's not a good idea to leave the chock on the rack while you are gone? It's easily removed, right?

    How does Quick rack compare?

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  Před 7 měsíci

      The Quik Rack holds 50 lbs per bike and is a much better option for most folks that have standard mountain bikes or 50 lb ebikes.

    What's with the freaking bolts you have to tighten??? This is making me hesitate big time. The main idea with this rack, is ease of use and how fast it is.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  Před 3 měsíci +1

      That is unfortunate for sure. They do it to elimate all wobble associated with tilting mechanisms.

  • @rezenclowd3
    @rezenclowd3 Před 9 měsíci

    Problem with 4th rack (even 2nd or 3rd) depends on vehicle and tongue capacity. Tongue capacity IS NOT system weight. Most small trucks are 350 and full size usually 500lb tongue weights. With even 4 non ebikes, the 350lb limit is easy to go over.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  Před 9 měsíci

      Correct. Tongue weight is always an issue when using a hitch. Shouldn't be an issue for trucks and SUVs. Wagons and sedans need to check their numbers.
