my god do people overhype the most garbage things. I finished watching berserk the golden age 1997 and jeez it was the most boring and stretched anime I have ever watched. I only watched it through because I heard that near the end it would get good, and dont get me wrong the ending did get good but where even was the build up. They made it so boring by stretching out the boringest parts of berserk like nobody cares that guts and casca did it inside a cave after falling off a cliff

I still believe the 90s anime was top tier. And I loved the animation for it.
Of course, we all know the manga is the best manga ever written. Absolutely beautiful artwork, incredible story, insane characters. Gut wrenching Twists and events. Just phenomenal.
For me Berserk has become on a lvl where it's much more than an anime/manga...
It's how we talk about the things we don't want to talk about.

There will never be another manga as great as Berserk. Miura’s ability to bring out a persons rawest emotions, to make you wonder whether your dreams are truly worth seizing, to make art so beautiful yet so terrifying. I don’t think we’ll ever have the pleasure of reading or seeing something so incredible ever again. It may not be your favorite, but it is undeniably the most incredible manga ever written and may very well exist within the top 3-5 pieces of fiction ever created. Rest In Peace to Kentaro Miura, the man blessed by the lord to give us art we didn’t deserve.
2 years ago I read the first 100 chapters of berzerk… im still healing. Haven’t continued reading but those 100 chapters were the absolute best thing I’ve read in my life. I think I’m ready to continue this journey.
That’s crazy, it was the same for me. I paused 1-2 years after that one big event.. I needed some time to recover from that. ^^‘
Only 100 chapters? Keep reading! The lost children arc would be next and is my favourite arc.

Feel bad for guts. His character has been through so much. He has had many loss and failure and could never live a simple life. This is why griffith is weak. Lost 1 battle and became depressed. Guys was always the bigger person

I really hope that Kouji Mori continues this masterpiece that is Berserk as close as Kentaro Miura imagined it. I recently found about berserk and I loved the first Berserk anime and when I finished with 2016 and 2017 Berserk anime I started reading the manga and its so amazing. There isnt anything beautiful than the story of Berserk. Its filled with emotions, I cant describe it. Its full of everything, sadness, hapiness, depression, love. Even though Guts is in his worst period emotionaly, I really hope that he gets a happy ending. How everything is going, im not sure if its even possible.

I needed this. Berserk pulled me out of depression. Along side dark souls I wouldn’t be standing here today if I never discovered this masterpiece.
To think I discovered it from a meme. Making fun of it. To actually experiencing it. Damn. Is it tears? Nah it’s just the rain. That is it.

The 90’s anime version has peaks and valleys in animation quality but for some reason as the show goes on it just gets consistently better. That’s why it’s hard to show new people. It starts slow with some of the worst animation. The latter half of the show looks beautiful with some of the best storytelling in anime (thanks to the manga of course).
To some a stupid manga, to others a waste of time as an anime, to others non-existant, to others a childhood memory, to others a great read, to others an amazing anime, to others a great experience and to others a fantasy story filled with incredible characters and hidden massages since art emitates reality and reality learns from art.

why must we go through such pain...... oooo Guts.... I hope you get a better ending.. for I have endure this sight of pain for 34yrs since I saw the show back in 97's now I'm almost 40yrs old. let us pray.
This is such a good anime but it is very underrated I wish it got more attention but I think it’s the fact the animation ruins it but for me I think the animation for it is fine because in the end it’s still berserk and as long as I get to see the wonderful story I will be happy🙂

Amazing edit! I just finished the Lost Children arc. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I looked up the original release times for the manga and I noticed that Golden Age began in (I believe) '93 and didn't end until '97 or so. It took me months to finish Golden Age. I could not imagine the feeling of getting attached to everyone over the course of years all to then experience the eclipse. That was the most mind shattering event in any manga I will ever read.

The only anime that would 100% work as a western live action series or movies if it had a good production team! The setting and themes are very western to start with and I love to see it get a live action treatment provided its done right!

One of the greatest pieces of fantasy ever written! On par with LotR, and the Stormlight Archives and in some ways, exceeds them
I had a hard time with Stormlight Archive... does it deliver ? It seems so long it's kinda daunting, and I don't have much free time.
@@levyloup-noe6187 If you like Guts from Berserk, you’d like Kaladin from Stormlight. He has a similar tragic past (less SA but just as tragic) and is basically Guts but a dex build. It has its own fantasy flares that makes it unique in its own way. And once it grips you, you can’t put it down. I recommend getting the audio book and setting the speed at 1.3x speed. You won’t regret it.

I really hope we get the ending mr miura envisioned for these characters, whether it ends well or in tragedy this story deaerves to be finished.
We will. The team that continues the series uses Miura‘s notes. It should be as true to the original ideas as the circumstances allow. :)
