Films have been “preachy” since their inception. “Messages” are everywhere. I think the difference is that modern moviemaking is so consumed by profits that it leaves the message without the benefit of a solid storyline with interesting/relatable characters. Modern films try to please too wide an audience thereby creating films which are as tepid as dishwater. Additionally, the respect/appreciation for films which are “just” great cinematic storytelling told through richly built characters is extremely rare.
Movies today are mostly too preachy and woke!!! Alec Baldwin should pursue the suit against the prosecution. That is not what the role of the prosecution is. Justice is for all and it is not them to decide. Megs should just stay away. She has nothing to do with the Suits cast and treated them as beneath her. So, she should stay where she is. She was not a lead character so what difference does it make?
I loved Twisters. I liked the relationships and the authenticity of the mom and daughter together. I enjoyed the friendships and the comradery of the teams! This is going to be a go-to for me!

Baldwin should not try to recover too much if his former arrogance when he was simply freed because of a similar class of hubris from the prosecutor. He should let this go and remember he was at least responsible for the loss of a life. What will suing the authorities accomplish? Not his innocence i am sure. 🙄
Movies, and almost all other entertainment feels preachy and serious or pushing some agenda these days. Miss the feel good movies of the 90s
Films have been “preachy” since their inception. “Messages” are everywhere. I think the difference is that modern moviemaking is so consumed by profits that it leaves the message without the benefit of a solid storyline with interesting/relatable characters. Modern films try to please too wide an audience thereby creating films which are as tepid as dishwater. Additionally, the respect/appreciation for films which are “just” great cinematic storytelling told through richly built characters is extremely rare.

Movies today are mostly too preachy and woke!!! Alec Baldwin should pursue the suit against the prosecution. That is not what the role of the prosecution is. Justice is for all and it is not them to decide.
Megs should just stay away. She has nothing to do with the Suits cast and treated them as beneath her. So, she should stay where she is. She was not a lead character so what difference does it make?
I loved Twisters. I liked the relationships and the authenticity of the mom and daughter together. I enjoyed the friendships and the comradery of the teams! This is going to be a go-to for me!

Movies are preachy but the good ones don’t make it obvious if they make you think or care w/o talking down to people. Mostly movies should be entertaining and help people escape.
MM and Harry are not talented. They may be able to pay someone with talent to help them win something but they, themselves have nothing to offer but a pretty face who knows it and works it and a dude with a title.

Absolutely to preachy now a days. I don't want politics or DEI to be the main point of my movies. I just want them to entertain. Without sex and foul language would be a bonus as this adds nothing to the film.
