I have been making earrings with fabric and wood for several years, also make with paper or even painted canvasses. I use fusible web to attach to the wood and iron on. Then I put the mod podge on as a sealer at least twice. Lately I have been adding a layer of lacquer as a final seal for waterproofing. I color my edges too. Your's turned out fabulous, 1st time I have seen anyone else do these.
That’s an awesome idea. I love making them! Thank you for the compliment 💜
What type of lacquer do you use please? Thanks in advance ☺️
It is guitar lacquer, Color Tone. My boyfriend builds mandolins
Hello. I'm revisiting this video. When u use the guitar lacquer, is there an issue with bubbles?? And where do u get it from?? Thank u

Hi I’m Kathy & I Just Watched Your Fabric Covered Wooden Blank Earring Tutorial, Which Inspired Me to Get Into All My Material & Give it a Go, But I Dont Have Any Tear Drop Blanks of Wood & DIDNT Know What Size You Used?
Thanks for sharing. I love it

I am happy it was helpful! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 💜
Thank you so much for such an easy tutorial and for showing how to open the jump rings and what to do with the earring hooks. That was always my problem when making earrings and opening the jump rings 🤦♀️
I struggled with that for awhile myself
Thanks for watching and have fun earring making
Thank you so much for this Tutorial .Twisting the loop on the ear wire is so important. I never thought about that and it is so simple
Yes! Makes all the difference in the way they hang. Thank you for watching
I have such a love for fabrics and just no joy for sewing. Thanks for showing us a way to enjoy too!!!
I have a collection of pretty fabrics but also do not enjoy sewing!! Glad you enjoyed the video

If you use 2 jumprings it will hang straight. This alleviates any chance of the earring wire breaking as you twist it or as you're wearing them.
I don’t like the look of the added jump ring but some do.
❤new suscrib thank you for the beautiful video 😍
Thank you 💕
Thank you for the wonderful video. It is great to know why my earrings were not straight. I was just wondering if you do letter earrings?
Thank you I’m glad you like it.
And happy your earrings are handing correctly lol 😂
I don’t do any letter earrings but I’m thinking of doing some.
Nice. I find using mod podge on fabric stains and leave dark marks. Luckily with the 2 pairs I made the stains look identical on each pairs lol. I don’t k ow what i’m doing wrong.
I have that happen sometimes also. Usually I have put to much on. Thin layers is the key
ok thank you
Do you recommend Fabric Mod Podge? And can the fabric edge of the earring be sanded the way paper is done? To give it the embedded flush look?
You have a very very good video here and have given me a couple of important tips no one else has. XO
You do not have to use fabric mod podge. I think it it easier to cut the fabric a little smaller than your earring blank. Sanding prior to curing the mod podge will cause a lot of fraying. I have sanded spots after mod podge dries and then put another coat.
Thank you for watching!
@@onpointaccents I will watch your video several times in fact.
As to the Fabric Mod Podge, have you experimented with it? I'm curious about the differences. If there are any.
I have the fabric mod podge makes it’s a little stiffer but no dramatic difference
I know you did this video awhile back but what size wood blanks did you use? Thanks so much for sharing your technique!

Thank you for this video. I just have one question is it ok for the wood to show on the sides
Yes, it fine. I sometimes take a paint marker to them but I generally prefer the natural wood.
Thank you so much for your tutorial! I have a question though. How water resistant is the finished project? I would love to make some for craft fair, but I'm worried it I will need another sealants to feel like it will hold up. Have you ever had problems with it?
I sell them and have had no problems. Once I put the mod Podge on top the fabric still has a “feel” to it but the fabric itself becomes very hard like the wood. I put several light coats on.
@@onpointaccents ok thanks!
Your content and ideas are great! I learned a lot! Work on improving the production quality (close-ups on small scale items, editing out repetitive actions, better sound) and your videos will be stellar! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the helpful comments 💜
Oh my gosh I tried yesterday to make earrings with deco foils I gave up
What happened? Maybe I’ll do a video
Today is my first time on your channel
Welcome! Thanks for watching
So if I can ask what would a good price for a pair of earrings be?
I sell mine for $8 and $5 for the smaller ones
