  • My first time on the South Yuba ever and I get on one of the best pieces of whitewater at a perfect flow! Enough water for some pushy fun that covers up the rocks!
After a week of raining up in the Yuba drainage, I was super lucky to get invited on a run on the 49 to Bridgeport section of the South Yuba River! Huge thanks to Tracy Young for showing me the lines and giving beta, and the group for an awesome day! So excited to run this section more and get more comfortable with it, there are definitely a lot of lines to clean up!

What’s that rapid at 2:22? A right turn there looks scary to say the least.

Correction. That sticky situation in Corner Pocket at 4:09 is pretty intense.

Nice vids. You've gotta edit out more of the easy stuff and just leave in the stout stuff. People are more likely to watch it. Vids are so long

I mostly put kayaking videos up for information/beta purposes. Someone can come in and say "I wonder what 49 to B is like at 1700 CFS and if I'd be comfortable on it" and watch this video and get a good sense about what the whole run is like. I 100% understand that most people don't want to watch a 6 minute CZcams video, but realistically there are far more people putting up really interesting 1-3 minute long videos that are much better kayakers. I really appreciate the advice though, cause I know these can get pretty drawn out! I did post a 1 minute 30 second version on my facebook page, but I like to keep CZcams to mostly the longer, whole run version.

@@TheHayward05 Thank you for showing more of the run. We've always wanted to see that section at higher flows. Looks so fun!
