Dude i have artificial implants in my neck at c5 and c7.... i just had the surgery july 12. And when he was talking about all of his symptoms he still deals with i felt for the first time ever finally... someone who understands it....but at the same time inspired because it didnt stop him. I have a new found view of kurt angle. I have worked 50-60 hrs a week since my son was born. He is now 13. And im still pushing. I hope angle gets these implants. They are life changing for mobility. Not so much for sensation though. But then again nerves take up to a year to heal. Also joe. If you read this. I would absolutely love to talk about the surgery with you if you ever found a need for a session about it. That would be probably the coolest experience of my life. Big fan lol

Did you feel those symptoms after the surgery or before? How are you healing up? I pinched a nerve in my neck last November and am still recovering. Lost lots of strength in my left arm/shoulder, and I dealt with a chest muscle injury too. All of it is getting much better, but scary stuff. I saw three doctors, and they didn't seem concerned!

    • @cyeszin2818

@@PowersBenzoCoaching I fell 30 ft off of a roof I thought I was just fine and went right back to work until two weeks later I couldn't lift my arm pass my belly button started feeling like I had hot LED moving through both arms and my neck constantly ached. Physical therapy helped a great deal at first and then certain chiropractors were very helpful my advice would be to see a chiropractor before I go into surgery. Try and seek a holistic chiropractor to be perfectly honest with you they seem to help me a lot more as far as adjustments and things like that but I don't know what kind of insurance you're working with my insurance wasn't that great at the time. Post-surgery I deal with some muscle tightness in the throatmy pain level is out of this world better I have no more issues as far as the hot LED feeling or losing control of my legs I highly recommend implants if you get a fusion it will screw up everyone I've met has regretted getting a fusion so talk to the surgeon and if they recommend an implant do it while you can I was down for about 3-4 days before I could go to the grocery store and buy week for I put a new battery and alternator in my car now I'm back to work after I think it was five weeks I went right back to work it's a slow-healing after that with building strength and things like that. But if you need surgery to get rid of your issue I highly recommend the implant over the fusion. But at least try a holistic chiropractor the one that I seen adjusted my vertebrae in my neck and had me pain-free for 8-years with management until it advanced and started to push further into my spinal cord and that's when I had to get it done. Any questions I can answer I'd be happy to do so just reach out if I didn't touch on something

Replacement discs can sometimes end up fusing solid so they aren’t guaranteed to work but when they hey do they are fantastic. I had one it was great but bone ended growing around it and it essentially fused the vertebrae above and below but I’ve also have had a straight up fusion and it wasn’t bad. Sure I can’t swivel it 360 but it was better than having my spinal cord compressed so much that I literally wanted to cut my right arm off because of the pain.

My uncle broke his neck when he was like 12 and it was bad enough that at the time the Dr said he'd never walk again. They fused his neck up and had him in a halo brace, he fully recovered and has been a roofer most his life. When I was a kid he was always shredded and looked like he was made of granite (from labor). I will say that he can't really turn his neck. If he wants to look at something or someone to the side of him, he does have to kinda turn his body with his neck. Other than that he's been good his whole life with a fused neck. No atrophy or anything because like I said, as a kid I always admired how well built and athletic looking he was. I wonder if him being young helped him heal, if his Dr was great, or even some spirit/mentality and luck that helped significantly, because I see fighters get the atrophy from neck injuries and it sucks. He did say while he was in the hospital laying in bed not able to move, he just listened to music he liked and kept saying to himself f that, I'm coming back. He did say he was in a dark place though and like really angry about it.

I fell upside down off a second floor roof while working and landed on my head back in the mid 2000's and was hospitalized for almost 3 weeks. Paralyzed from the neck down until I finally started getting feeling back. Scariest moment of my life. 2 discs dislodged and pinned a cluster of nerves against my spine which caused me to lose feeling in my arms about 10 times a day if I turned my head a certain way. They wanted to cut me open and remove the discs, take bone from my pelvis and replace them with that then put a titanium plate in with bolts and screws and sow me back up. I was 28 yrs old with a 3yr old son and I knew if I got that surgery it was all downhill from there. Instead I opted for an epidural steroid injection in the back of my neck with a gel that made it's way to the nerves and push them out from being stuck from the slipped discs to alleviate pressure. Although today, 20yrs later I still have issues from it. I can tell you when it's about to rain because when the barometric pressure drops outside, my neck stiffens and it's hard to turn right or left. I'll take that discomfort any day because I've still been able to work after all these years and take care my children by opting out of that surgery.

While the fusion did help to a certain extent, they told me before the surgery, that once you get the surgery, the discs above and below the fusion, will become weaker over time. They can start to slip, herniate etc., and you may need more surgery, even another fusion 10-20+ yrs down the road. I've already hit 12 yrs and my lower back, L4--S1 is causes so much pain and muscle spasms, it's debilitating AF.

Outside of all the other injuries I sustained, I had a compression fracture of my L3. Did years of PT, but the pain just kept getting worse. Finally got the fusion at the Hospital of Special Surgery in NYC, by the head of their spine Dept. and the the best spinal surgeon in the US. Fusion was successful, but as I noted, the discs above and below become weaker and they start giving you problems. 24/7 for years I deal w/ constant muscle spasms and tightness in my lower back and on each side of my spine, bc the muscles are trying to protect my spine from getting worse. PT only helps to an extent. Pain meds barely help and muscles relaxers don't do shit. So it's basically, suck it up, until you pretty much collapse. lol
