  • Over the bank holiday weekend, some Great Western services (one an hour) were diverted at Reading onto the Southern route to Waterloo. A very rare event. The HST Eurostar race (11:35) at Vauxhall was a very lucky shot! The final shot is at Wokingham

I never knew the HST ran into Waterloo A rare event indeed and your luck at Vauxall made a very good sight. Now sadly both these trains are on limited time

It happened on a few occasions, such as during the electrification of the great Western mainline

@@grassytramtracks OK Thanks for the info. I know there was a plan to run a regular service from Edinburgh to connect with Eurostar, only a few of those ran, I thought it was the only time it happened

What was the reason for the HST's into Waterloo engineering works?

Mate, the shot at 11:36 is a blinder all the way to ending at MI6, the timing and spot couldn't have been better!

I know, sheer luck, and how many times could that have been captured? Maybe just this once?

@@traindriver35 I genuinely would be surprised to see another, and I don't think it'd match up to be fair. Even the timing of the trains aside, the camera work with the timing of the zoom/panning was all bang on the mark too, gotta give the appreciation there where it's due too.
