- Today, we are going to compare 2 floodlight cam systems - the Wyze Floodlight Cam vs the Nest Cam Floodlight. I am comparing these 2 because they are both an add on floodlight accessory to their corresponding WiFi cameras. We will compare the video and audio quality in both daytime and at night with their floodlights ON and also compare their features and lack there of and see if you want to go with an affordable floodlight cam or an expensive one.

Very clever testing method. Wasn't expecting to get that level of quality for a random review I clicked on. Good job!
The side-by-side comparisons were very helpful, as I apparently struggle with short-term memory issues. Thanks!
That first reveal of the wyze cam audio had me burst laughter lol
I very rarely like a video but you put a lot of hard work and were quite thorough with your testing. It was great and I learned a lot, thank you so much!
Another great review! Keep up the awesome work. I spend my money much more wisely based on your reviews.
I appreciate that!
This was super helpful!! Thank you!
Great video very informative and detailed
Thank you. The Wyze looks pretty good to me.
These two systems were so different. One has better video and audio, but the other has consistent notifications. For the price point and notification speed there is only one choice, Wyze. Even though the floodlight was too hot for the camera, it would still be a good accessory in the right circumstance. Bad guys like to hide in the dark. The light alone could scare them away. Thanks again sir for your hard work. This comparison video made everyone think hard about choosing either of these products.
You are more than welcome.
if it is too bright it will allow adjustment to the brightness.
@paulmiyagishma7655 I agree,…and it seems like you made a Wyze decision!🤔🦉😊
If anyone in the comments has the the Wyze floodlight can you answer these questions. Does it perform well in cold weather and are you able to change the settings so that it doesnt washout the person face on camera in night mode????
you get what you pay for! but i still think the ring is superior to both... the most important part is notification.... why have a 10 min cool-off? robber will be off with half of your stuff by then!
Which one has a 10 minutes cool off?
Ring admits to sharing user data w/ third parties & police without informing users
Lol “ring”. They’re scummy.
@@skaterdude14bNone of these cameras are safe hence why I only put it in the front of the house
I love the Picture and Audio quality of the Nest But for the Price they are asking,( especially subscription fees) It's a Hard Pass.
Do either have a dusk to dawn always on option for the light?
Can you turn off the light part on the camera or does it HAVE to turn on every time? (at night) on both wyze and nest?
Dude this review is great, but so are all your other ones. Love the way you compare devices with out any apparent bias. I was thrown off by the wyze audio at first. They really need to fix that.
Has the Wyze Audio problem been fixed? As I REALLY need good Audio quality.
My use case is at Events and to record MOTION for future training, I think Wyze has a max 5 minutes recording but with subscription that can be back to back recordings right?
My testing seem that the recordings stop even with motion happening, any idea how to fix that?
Did you try changing the brightness at night to see if it stops washing out your face. ? I want the wyze but the white face blurr is nooo good 😢
My son has the Wyze and loves it, but I have a question and hope you can answer. I do not use a cell phone, am home most of the time, use both desktop and laptop computers. I have acreage property so would like solar powered cameras and would like for notification of movement to go to one of my computers, do not want a subscription service. All I want is to be able to view what is happening at the end of my 200 ft driveway or back behind the barns day or night from the computer, get an alert possibly. I currently have a Defender analog system with two cameras and its own monitor but the cams must be plugged into an outlet so cannot get far from the main monitor that comes with the set. And it has a sight line that you cannot venture far from anyway. I need more range. Is there even such an animal? I've been trying to research and am really overwhelmed, have not seen what I've described. We have good WiFi from our fiber optic cable system. Thanks for any input you have! ~ Cynthia, N. Considering the price, Wyze is pretty tough to beat.
Na eufys better
Exactly. This was a great review, but not a fair one. You're comparing a $100 floodlight to a $300 floodlight.
@@caseymyhro3769 and the 100 dollar one won...🤣🤣
I've been using Wyze since they started and have several Wyze cams. But ever since they introduced the Wyze v3 and didn't allow grandfather person detection to work on those they have just gone downhill. The delays are crazy and only reason to get it is if you can't afford anything else or great as a backup along with other cameras. But no more Wyze cams for me. Eufy will be my next cam. As far as Nest, not even close, it's sad when Wyze beats them so bad
I've had Eufy for about 2 yrs. and the led lights burned out but the cam still work. I'd not buy Eufy product again. This is my bad luck with Eufy.
The one any only thing the nest camera has going for it in my opinion is how reliable the AI detection is. By far the least amount of false detections than any other camera.
will you please do a review on the XVIM 1080P WiFi Home Bulb Camera System and one on the Maximus Video Security Camera and Outdoor Light - Craftsman Black - Compatible with Alexa thank you
I have to check it out. Thanks.
Sure wish they would make other colors than just white!
8:48 I think it just depends on your internet connection. I get a Wyze alert almost INSTANTLY.
You will only get 2-3 second alert notification if you are not subscribed to their Cam Plus subscription. If you are subscribed, delay is around > 15 seconds due to their AI processing (person, animal etc detection) is being processed on their servers.
@LifeHackster Oh, really? I didn't know that. That actually discourages me from wanting to upgrade to Cam Plus now (at least for my front doorbell). I like being notified immediately when someone appears at my doorbell.
Filipino po kayo? Salamat!! Galing naman ang review!! Saan po kayo sa Texas. Kami sa San Antonio. Sigi Po!
Yup. Coastal Bend.
As far as the Wyze Camera floodlight, you're better off just getting the Wyze spotlight attachment for the Wyze V3 camera instead. The Wyze V3 camera does so well in low lighting; the floodlight actually seems to be counterintuitive.
The Nest may have a slightly better image quality but that whole ecosystem is a fuster cluck right now and well it's as google product. I'm going to see how my WyzeCam V3s handle an Iowa winter and if they hold up I'll probably put one of those on my detached garage in the spring once I get wifi coverage out there.
Not sure how this comment got my eye but I live in very cold area in Canada (below -30 C most of winter). I have both Nest battery cam and Wyze v3.
If it is below -20 C, Nest starts having a problem. But I don't think I can blame Nest for this because it is probably same for all LI battery products. Simply it started the battery drains real quick (although it is wired) or goes offline.
However, Wyze v3 survives and functions really well. I noticed the connection becomes little bit unstable but not dramatically.
Hope this helps.
@@qwerqwer-hs1hd hello, would you recommand Wyze floodlight 1080 camera? I am planning to get it , what’s your suggestion?
Do wise cams record 24/7 like nest cams ?
It can when you put in a micro SD card.
0:08 Well, I made my decision 😅 Wyze it is. $280?! 😲
I'm not sure what Google is doing with Nest. It seems like they're just running it into the ground.
agree
Agreed. The quality is going downhill.
It’s sad as Nest used to be an innovative company. Damn Google.
How to reset my camera
The camera is still recording the event as the burglar breaks into your house but you sleep through it. So what good does that do?
If there is little to no notification cool off like the Wyze and Ring systems, then you will get multiple alerts while the burglar is inside your house which hopefully will wake you up. With Ring, you can change the notification to an alarm tone if you are really a heavy sleeper or probably will just scare the burglar away.
Rings the best
Except when they crash for a whole day 😭
no comparison, Wyze picture and sound quality is sub par, if choosing between these two I would spend the extra for the Nest, but I believe Eufy has a floodlight camera that is better than the Nest and I would go with that to avoid paying for cloud storage and for better picture and sound, provided it's reliable as well in the long run. I will say this, that the Nest is better at night than the Eufy cam pan that you just reviewed recently. They need to do something about the wind buffeting noise, though by putting some kind of foam to cover the mic like pro mics have to deal with the buffeting. The Eufy cam doesn't have the wind buffeting noise issue. They can also maybe use noise cancelling tech like in the iPhone with software and maybe dual mics.
but eufy app doesnt have live video, so bad
I don't have enough money. I will go for wyze
I don’t recommend Wyze product, because I buy outdoor Wyze camera it’s work in battery. The website say need to charge every six month but the battery charge is finished in one month.
The audio is horrible on the Wyze...
wyze has better night camera
Kamustas?
I have wyze and icsee cameras. icsee app is way better. with wyze 2 or 3 wireless (with batteries inside) you have to manually schedule recording or you will have to pay promotional 19.99 per year. it maybe went up. the floodlight will allow recording automatically but the wireless additional camera won't record unless you manually schedule it every month. as I know, icsee doesnt make fog light cameras but wyze should motio record it for free since it is being saved in the mini sd card. I have 3 wyze cameras, one hooked up to the fog light for power and the other in the back hooked up with a solar charger. The base for the additional cameras needs to be reset every month or so, when I need it the most, the power led light flicks and it stops working. I got the whole system for less than one hundred bucks, I cannot complain but the app has a lot of room for improvement. I bought it of an local auction. the flood light is great but the motion recording in the app sucks.
I can’t shake off the feeling this guy doesn’t like Google products.
Watch my videos starting with the Nest Hello...and you will understand.
wyze is ALWAYS better, lol one is less then half the price
💐👍👏🌹💐
Wow that's a good example of you get what you paid for, but 3x...
Now I know that nest is expensive what is it 180.00 more then wyze however nest is one price and you don’t have to pay for nothing else while wyze you have to buy the ai human detection subscription because if you don’t you’ll be sorry that thing will send you so many notifications it’s not funny little dust bunny will fly by and you’ll get 30 notifications..the subscription isn’t to bad each month however after a year or more you’ll end up paying more for wyze then you will nest in my opinion and really wyze cameras aren’t that durable I got 3 and now only have one the first little sprinkles and it was done for
Nest Floodlight Cam is 280 bucks.
