For anyone who hasn't played dd1. Some monsters have breakable parts n if they kept the upgrade system you'll need to go out n break certain parts.
I requested a day off on release date of DD2, so excited about this game.
I believe that I'm going to enjoy the game, but I have to admit that one big disappointment from the outset is the simplified armour system. In DD1, the armour system was robust and consisted of many smaller armour pieces that the player could mix and match. DD2, however, is apparently dumbed down to the bog-standard 4 slots of "helmet, chest+arms, legs+boots, cloak".
One theory someone had once, was that maybe we'll be able to combine armour pieces to mix their fashion styles, but dunno. It'd be a shame if the system is just much simpler - Fashion's Dogma was a thing of beauty.
True, I did like the old system as well, more so I can fine tune the main pawn rather than myself but we shall see how its done here. I can still see some good potential for fashion still, but will talk about it in more detail when DD2 comes out, especially because then people can also give their input on it.
I would not say it is dumbed down. Think of it more of an expansion - to allow more customization (both in terms of visuals and vocations) you can create more armour sets if there are less armour slots. Moreover, if armour pieces cover major body parts, that gives more freedom to the art team to go wild. You do not only model the boots but the pants as well for example.
Also hopefully you will be able to apply different colours to your armour and further customize it.

@@8wayz2shineIt's a tradeoff. There'll surely be more visual cohesion to the bigger pieces, but more nuance will be lost. The first game allowed for armour for the head, upper body, arms, and lower body, a cape, and 2 clothing pieces (upper and lower) which layered with the armour. As a result, the factual number of possible sets (achieved via mixing and matching) was higher.
The bigger and more internally cohesive the armour pieces are, the fewer combinations of them are possible (and fewer still are cohesive enough externally - as in, between different sets - that the result of mixing would look good).
Again, I'm not saying it's all doom and gloom, and I believe that the armour system will be sufficient for satisfactory customisation, but it is objectively less robust due to the lower number of different slots.
Well, we have to wait and see what the new system will allow us to do and which of the two is superior.
if the game is always online can't capcom cut the Rift servers till release to prevent leaked copies? Or you know ban any account online playing the game?

Made a few already, still playing around some settings before release. Making my version of the Geralt, and some other characters. Arisen and main pawn are done more or less.

In Dragons Dogma dark arisen the ferrie stones were unlimited on standard mode but limited in hardcore mode so it might be the same for Dragons Dogma 2
seeing the chemera is bringing back goofy memories every time I fought one I would single out certain heads just to see when at the end of the fight which one could control it best and I have to say. Leaving the goat for last is always a horrible mistake. It was always difficult to get the snake to live till the end tho and I think I only did it once and died in the process so take that as you will.
Just me and my pawn no one else for the start. We will see how it works out.

i wanna say that it’s probably late game armor only bcuz they said they were playing with maxed out skills so i would assume they just set them up don’t take my word for it tho
In an interview, they said that the travel methods will be far more limited than in DD1.
eh, i think that's just because most people's recent memories were of spamming the eternal ferrystone.
they're still in the game, port crystals and ferry stones.
you're just not getting an eternal one (yet), and they'll be a bit pricey to be able to 'rely' on them, till you're really strong and rich.

Idk, too scared from prior games not being what they said they would. No, I dont care what people capcom paid to fly out and play thier game said about 2 hours of dev set up gameplay. I feel like they put too many mechanics in here and together they may get irritating. Sorry no amout of anything will make walking the same area, over and over exciting. After the honeymoon phase is over, real opinions will come out.

I’m sure in his language the ch sound makes the sh sound. Both pronunciations are fine. I’ve heard it pronounced both ways by many people.
