Kate Spade was sold in 2006 and the new owners cheapened the products but the stock value went up like 2000%. Part of the reason she killed herself - if she hadn't sold her company she would've been a billionaire.
Michael Kors is in TJ Maxxx... Versace was purchased by MK and it was already considered tacky and overexposed by luxury connoisseurs. Blame Donatella for that after the death of her brother. The quality isn't great either. Also pick Le Crueset over SMEG. Avoid Dolce and Gobanna too by the way.

ASMR Ladybug There are auctions at Christie's for Hermes Birkins and they go for much more than the price they were originally bought at. Most second-hand Birkins in excellent condition can still fetch a whopping pricetag so you don't "get way less back".
Yes, imagine the shame of buying something that isn't "exclusive"! Most designer things are a rip off. it's just a way to steal your money and insult you at the same time.
Everyone here is trashing MK.. Michael Kors is not a top luxury brand. BUT can be considered as an Entry level luxury brand. ... However, even though MK is not a “top level” luxury brand, it definitely has as much recognition as brands such as Louis Vuitton and Prada.
Personally i love Michael Kors. They have some really versatile bags that you can make them dressy or casual and i dont care they are not super exclusive. They are good quality and Nice designs. Another point to defend Michael Kors the bags you get in a TJ Max store arent the same you get in a regular Michael Kors Butique. They also have completley different designs for their outlet boutiques. There is also the truly exclusive Michael Kors Collection. People also cririzse Michael Kors for not being innovative but Everyone copies at the end. Everyone copied Louis Vuiton's bag with The monogram in All the bag. Fendi and Gucci come to my Mind. Every designer copied the chain bags from Chanel Also Everyone copied from Chanel the ceramic Watch. I remember when it was the ultimate thing Everyone did it. There is not complete originality
Mmm no they are not, am talking worldwise, Mk is knowing a thef who steal top brands design, it is mostly a teen brand bcuz why should i get my 14 years a YSL when i can just take a copy from MK
Coach is not a 'luxury brand', it is just a very well made brand, that usually outlasts any other brand. That has been my experience. Bags of other high-end retail store brands and such wear out and rip or break much faster. Coach bags are indestructible. That is where i think their value lies.
Christen Cloar I had no idea who they were until a couple weeks ago. I just saw one of their toasters at a department store and it was $175....I walked away immediately.
Coach lost its appeal because the designs were weird. the stupid dinosaurs and the creepy drab designs kept me far away!!! now the prices are not affordable nor worth the trouble.
I have two bags from MK which lasted for very long an still going strong an good condition, 5 bags from Hermes, 2 Chanel bags an 4Gucci bags.. One of which my handled broke from my Hermes bag!.! Goes to show it doesnt have to be Top Luxury for it to be great, spending money on a $35k bag is no joke thank god i manage to fix it!...
Michael Kors is not luxury. I say it more affordable luxury. I'd rather spend my money on nice-looking but affordable things than status symbols. As long as it is well made, it's good for me. Birkin and Prada are both jokes.
You are smarter than most. I knew MK was out when I saw it in Macy's. And Prada bags are made with Saffiano leather, the same with MK, Calvin Klein and Tory Burch. Granted the Prada saffiano leather is a higher quality, you can still get a similar style and craftsmanship for MUCH cheaper with the affordable luxury brands. And nowadays Hermes is hyped even more to a younger audience because of social media. Tbh, they look like granny bags, are very dated, and overpriced.
SuperMarkizas yeah Michael by Michael Kors is not exactly luxury it’s something in the middle between let’s say Zara and big Luxury brands. Which is a great niche I like affordable quality combined with Beauty which is what Michael by Kors proposes, if you want luxury from Michael Kors there is Michael Kors Collection.
Hermes bags are an investment. They increase in value after you purchase them. You can sell them for twice what you bought them for. I personally choose not to buy leather but I must disagree with you in that those bags are actually a very smart purchase if you can afford them!
@Evolve Not never. Christie's auctions some Birkins for way more than their original price. Granted the ones that fetch the most are exotic animal or limited edition. But I've seen Birkins fetch up to the original price or more even on some preloved websites.
bruh, hermés is so expensive bc it's one of many designer brands that is handmade very well. it's leather and a good investment bc in a few years, u can sell it for extremely high
Actually, it's pretty much all designer handbags unfortunately. No living creature should ever have to endure pain just so that we can selfishly have something "stylish" to flaunt and drape over our shoulders.
Animals are created for us to eat and after you eat them you use their skin to make bags with it kind of like recycling now stop writing the same comments everywhere cows are created for humans to consume
@@hizboo7670That is no longer the case as greedy modern day consumerism has created such a strong demand for leather products that animals are now bred and killed for the purpose of supplying that demand
I wouldn't waste my time buying some of the crap sold. Glasses and sunglasses are made by one company so why pay 1K for something when you can pay 10 bucks for the same thing.
Oh my gosh, I just saw how they made those bags. They have this alligators farm in Vietnam (video on CZcams) the don’t kill the alligators. They stab them in the head I guess to hold them still, then they skin them alive. Oh my God the torture and the suffering they go through. It’s not worth ladies or men. Just buy cheap bags or vegan bags.
You people are idiots. They dont skin animals alive. If the animal is alive and you skin it, blood would get all over the pelt and ruin it. It's not that hard to THINK about. Not that you're thinking cause you're only feeling. Peta has also doctored up and faked their videos, so that's not a reliable source.
I thought it was going to be about their intrinsic value and quality, rather than about ethics. The only things that hit the nail on the head are the sunglasses, the smug D&G line and the paper clip. You buy quality when you buy luxury, so one would think. Hermes is very high quality no doubt, but its treatment towards animals is another matter.
I thought this will tackle those designer brands that charge big amount but the product is not durable. I agree with the sunglasses but the rest was not on point. The prada clip is sterling silver and if we will base it to the value of silver then somehow 185 usd is not that off..maybe it is weighty. But if it is just silver plated brass then 185 is expensive and not worth it
Exactly..like bag handle peeling and shoe sole detaching bec of use of only glue instead of stitched.. from Frida Gianini era. I suspect it was high quality when Tom was around but when ppr/Kering came in and Tom was out they changed things to maximize profit
I've always believed Bottega to be the best brand for "luxury x craftsmanship x value", but I starting to think they've lost their way and that Celine has overtaken them.
Chanel didn't make the list because its definitely in a class of own... but I'm surprised Louis Vuitton didn't make the list, seems like everyone has one and if they dont you can easily get one from consignment shops, ebay, estate sales, etc.
Most people still buy fake LV at those places and are unaware. Ypu aren't getting a real LV for $400, unless the pouchette. Real LV does not devalue with age, unless it is completely destroyed inside by the previous owner.
And according to the LV sales associate at Saks in NYC...they aren't even genuine leather! At least the traditional brown monogram. So...I headed to Chinatown and found a knockoff that actually looked better and had a genuine beige suede lining as opposed to the ugly dark brown cotton lining of the actual LV monogram at Saks. Granted, this is was 10 years ago or so and I've heard they have cracked down on fakes but my bag still looks fabulous. Oh and the handles on my fake are genuine leather.
@@MBVunderground They are coated canvas, the monograms anyway. However I suggest the documentary on Louis Vuitton to see how the bags are made and climate control and zip tests, it's all very interesting
@@bellissima78 Thanks but honestly, I'm over that. LV (at least the monogram styles) seem so 80's/90's to me. AND there are so many fakes out there that it just devalued that whole look to me. I bought the fake bag when I was younger and binging on Sex and the City and was into the "label" thing. As I've gotten older I realize better quality (as in genuine leather) can be found for much cheaper.
Is this a joke??!! Coach bags more accessible?? Where do YOU live? I WISH they were! But not at the cost of the quality! They are still hundreds of dollars. I swear by Coach not because of any 'statement', but because they are indestructible and each bag outlasts its style's life-cycle, which is the way i like it. Plus their styles rarely do actually go out of style completely. And more often than not they have just the right pockets, can always find a practical fully zippered one. They always look neat and nice, even when slightly aged.
Buy what you like! Most of my bags are Brahmin and I paid between 200-400 for them. I didn't buy them to be recognized. I bought them because they last forever. My ex bought me my first one and its lasted over 10 years, I've been hooked ever since
Isn’t crazy how society’s mind set is. You want what you can’t have. If you can’t have it it’s luxurious but once’s you’re able to attain it it’s not valuable anymore
Maybe if you were homeless with a damn job. But the quality is actually very nice, especially for the price. I treated mine like total shit and disregarded all proper caring instructions. It’s still held it’s shape and color. The leather is real and mine was dyed a taupe color. Its definitely not an unpractical bag, it’s an everyday purse. Id compare it too shoes, Michael Kors is like a good work shoe. It’s not super flashy but durable and sustainable.
For people who are materialistic and only has focus on this present world and all its worldly and material things, they clamor for more but won't be satisfied. These people absolutely forgot that each day is a step forward nearer to the graveyard and that one day they will die and all these bags won't even have a room inside their coffins! With the mere mention of the word "death" they squirm with disgust and great fear because their life is only focused in this world and not in the afterlife in God's presence in His Kingdom of love and glory.
Deonna Cruz they used to but those days are gone. All Coach bags used to be made in their factory in Amagansett NY and the quality was amazing. At some point that all changed. I still have my Coach saddle bag (purchased in 1987) and my Coach City Bag (purchased in 1992)! Would never purchase anything Coach now!
The producer behind this needs to be fired. Hermes does NOT take deposits nor do they have a mandatory 2 year waiting list. You can snag a Birkin same day if you click with your SA. They're also double hand stitched, making them SUPER durable.

whenever masses of Chinese consumers get their hands on luxury brands, its image goes down. We see that happening with Coach, Louis vouitton, Michael Kors etc
Coach really is *great quality* . Had they not overproduced, we would be paying a lot more for sure.. I don't mind spending $400- $500 on a coach bag bc for that price point, I know I can use it daily, it will clean up very well, and last for years.. Plus, their bags are a classic staple!
Prada has great products but they are a little bit too expensive sometimes and i cant afford the original stuff every time, but to keep up with the fashion i buy my bags from superfake store the prices are really great.
Coach has nice quality bags. I think people associate the brand with the canvas logo bags that used to be so popular, but that's not really their brand anymore.
I make my own purses out of old blue jeans, and the only statement I'm making is, "I don't care if you think I'm cheap for making my own purses; I can make my purses exactly what I want.
That’s why I go for authentic luxury brands like Mesitus. Luxury is the scarcity, the craftsmanship, the brand values you see in each fine handcrafted creations, it’s rare, not the likes of these superficial tasteless fashion items!
You could make yourself look expensive with cheap clothes/purses from a thrift shop. You can buy a fake designer bag and ppl will think it's real. I do it all the time.
I remember when Coach bags were made by hand at a single workshop in New York City. They were works of art. They also had a lifetime guarantee where if the bag broke anytime before you died, they would repair or replace it for free. The decline began when Avon bought Coach out and started making the bags in China.
Every designers brand wants to become “the brand” and when they succeed they usually price them at thousands of times higher than it was to produce them. I said this, “if you want it, and you can afford it without a loan, and you worked hard for it, then buy it”.
I don't own any of these but I find Michael Kors and Smeg seem to be more worth it for the creativity that goes into it, more than Hermes or Burberry who have been using the same bland design for decades. Those painted fridges are a work of art.
I already knew about Luxottica, I wear big oversized glasses because I like 'em! Folks, it is about style, not about how much you pay for an item. A person must find their style, fashion be damned. Hermes makes great perfumes, however.
I love my LeSportSac purses and duffle bags . Many of mine are 10 years old . I wash them in the washing machine. Fresh and clean everytime. I hate leather bags. They smell nasty after a while. They are too heavy. Too much maintenance.
i use to work for luxottica. they are pricey, just the lens alone (each!). its cheaper to get the already made ones. but the grade of the lens may be cheaper quality.
If you have the money, Birkins are actually the best value-for-money bags because they cost more in the preloved market so you’ll likely get your money back (and some extra) if you decide to sell it.
@@MoNoK15Thanks for responding. I have had good experiences with Coach as well. Michael Kors seems to fall apart and the zippers always break. I find Coach leather is quite soft and feels nice. RIP (let this be a warning not to store nice bags in plastic bins inside storage units like my silly self did lol)
I don't think I would have been fooled 🤔 at least I hope not! In a certain price range, I'm usually looking for shoes that have been sewn and not glued, leather insoles and usually leather uppers... there should be some cushion when I'm wearing a heal, and preferably the foot bed has the heel sitting just a bit back so that it pulls the weight off the ball of the foot... there's just things I'm looking for, and I would hope changing the name of the store wouldn't sway my opinion of what is good quality. AND, if Payless has that... I'm all for it.
"that bag made just at the low end" ?????? I would pay high price for that low end handmade by one specific man. As it's his skill and art and experiences that i pray for. If what you mean by high end is technology with crazy machines...i would never pay extra money for bags made by machine. Not going to even buy it if its over 100 usd.
There are very high fashion luxury items that I have found to be UGLY and lower cheaper items to actually be quite. Just because you pay a lotta money dont mean what you are buying looks good or will last same thing in reverse.
Don’t know. I purchased a beautiful handbag from Amazon. Real leather and Birken’s style design. Paid $30 for it. Best purchase I’ve ever made. It’s a very well made purse but I paid a watered down price for it. Dud I mention it’s real genuine leather. And, it’s a to die for spring color; a delicate lilac. Just my kinda purse.
You know what? Why by a brand when you can buy artisanal stuffs. The whole purpose of buying brands is to have a unique item to your taste, not to run into someone with the same item. With artisanal stuffs you can custom your item to your taste, get actual good handcrafted stuffs and materials (if you go to a reputable place), and can monitor the process of crafting in some cases.

If you think Versace is tacky you don't know fashion. Versace has always been loud and out there. Gianni started it. That is their whole appeal.
@@gardenvariety1 Thank you!! A little research nobody wants to do anymore. MK Holdings hopes to be similar to Kering or LVMH. Though I doubt many even know what those are either.
Hermes don't deserve to be here. If you are making a bag that people can use as collateral then it is worth the money you are paying
Not if you lose money? Yes it’s used as collateral but in this context to what she’s saying, you pay about $15k and get way less back.
@@ChristinaMagma you buy a car, you lose money. But that is not the point is it?
Lmaoo Hermes Birken are such good investments and you can profit over 200k from owning the most expensive ones.@@ChristinaMagma
ASMR Ladybug There are auctions at Christie's for Hermes Birkins and they go for much more than the price they were originally bought at. Most second-hand Birkins in excellent condition can still fetch a whopping pricetag so you don't "get way less back".
@@arunashamal If you brought a classic car the value would have appreciated. But, I see what you mean.
I have some MK bags and they are very durable and stylish!
Every designer copied the chain bags from Chanel
Also Everyone copied from Chanel the ceramic Watch. I remember when it was the ultimate thing Everyone did it.
There is not complete originality
@@sarizonana agree
Mmm no they are not, am talking worldwise, Mk is knowing a thef who steal top brands design, it is mostly a teen brand bcuz why should i get my 14 years a YSL when i can just take a copy from MK
I like my MK bag. It's still beautiful after three years, and the color and leather are still vibrant. I can carry everything in mine.
Coach is not a 'luxury brand', it is just a very well made brand, that usually outlasts any other brand. That has been my experience. Bags of other high-end retail store brands and such wear out and rip or break much faster. Coach bags are indestructible. That is where i think their value lies.
there's actually a brand called "smeg"?! and its trying to be a luxury brand??? yikes 😂💀

They went logo crazy back in the day.
The price are still affordable cause they have lots of sales
Tbh, they look like granny bags, are very dated, and overpriced.
kokolatte825 prada does not have good quality, it has been such a known issue with thus brand. Their thing are not long lasting 😐😐
Right ?? 😆
@@kokolatte825 Hermes is the only Maison de Couture how style couture. Most off the luxury brands become popular for millinian.
Hermes bags are an investment. They increase in value after you purchase them. You can sell them for twice what you bought them for. I personally choose not to buy leather but I must disagree with you in that those bags are actually a very smart purchase if you can afford them!
I have seen Hermes at the designer resale and they never go for twice what was paid, that is a stretch.
@Evolve Not never. Christie's auctions some Birkins for way more than their original price. Granted the ones that fetch the most are exotic animal or limited edition. But I've seen Birkins fetch up to the original price or more even on some preloved websites.
Evolve they actually do, depends on the condition but they do sell for twice as much, sometimes even more depending on the exact specs of the bag
I bought second hand of it less than 100 $ or even less than 20 $ with good condition, no minus. Lol
Fun fact Ray Ban used to be cheap until that company took it over
cfc fan I remember when RayBan was being sold at Rite Aid counters
I did know that. When you have a monopoly over the industry, you can charge whatever you want.
True, I found a Prada bag worth around 500 in a thrift store...got it for like 15...seriously everything is just a label
bruh, hermés is so expensive bc it's one of many designer brands that is handmade very well. it's leather and a good investment bc in a few years, u can sell it for extremely high
I saw one of those Hermes bags being made in person at Holt Renfrew, it's done by hand...yes it is worth the money.
drifter grey not worth animal pain
5 fig. bag. You don't pay for the bag you paid for the brand to continue to exist.
drifter grey 😂
Lots and lots of things are handmade. $15k for a bag is not money well spent. Go buy a handmade bag from someone local for $50-$100 instead.
scrappy mom well said!!
Glasses and sunglasses are made by one company so why pay 1K for something when you can pay 10 bucks for the same thing.
and not worry about losing them. I "splurge" on $16 sunglasses! I used to stay under $10.
I do agree that designer and haute couture is beautiful . But I believe that some things I rather appreciate from afar.
I am content to spend my hard earned money on locally made products that support local craft artists.
I only buy and own Mulberry bags/purses. Absolute quality! I have bags I've had years that still look and smell FANTASTIC!
Okaay but at the end of the day
Bag is just a bag
I don't understand why some brands cost soooooo much
It's a money making racket
For gullible loaded people.
This is stupid. The Hermes Birkin you can literally resell and double your money depending on colour and hardware
Just curious, why they skin the alligators alive? That's really cruel.
@@hellgirl1512 because it is more that way
@@hellgirl1512 same reason they skin foxes alive for their fur I would assume. After death the fur/skin in most animals isnt as good
This is why people should not buy animal products and become conscious about the practices of the brands and companies that they support.
But if it is just silver plated brass then 185 is expensive and not worth it
stanbalo yeah I was expecting something like Gucci - apparently their clothes just fall apart lol.

I just buy perfumes.
The only bag I really want is a Chanel 2.55.

Isn’t crazy how society’s mind set is. You want what you can’t have. If you can’t have it it’s luxurious but once’s you’re able to attain it it’s not valuable anymore
Hi
Maybe if you were homeless with a damn job. But the quality is actually very nice, especially for the price. I treated mine like total shit and disregarded all proper caring instructions. It’s still held it’s shape and color. The leather is real and mine was dyed a taupe color. Its definitely not an unpractical bag, it’s an everyday purse. Id compare it too shoes, Michael Kors is like a good work shoe. It’s not super flashy but durable and sustainable.
Make another video, of luxury fashion that is worth it please
Essentially: don't buy Prada goods, because they are *too* good? That is why they are fantastic. High quality and stylish.
Coach lied saying they had a lifetime warranty on their bags.
So did Louis Vuitton. By the way, Coach has a 1 year warranty.
Deonna Cruz interesting
Deonna Cruz they used to but those days are gone. All Coach bags used to be made in their factory in Amagansett NY and the quality was amazing. At some point that all changed. I still have my Coach saddle bag (purchased in 1987) and my Coach City Bag (purchased in 1992)! Would never purchase anything Coach now!
No matter what you buy from these brands...you are paying more than what it is acutally worth. That is not luxury. That is a scam.
Power of branding
The producer behind this needs to be fired.
Hermes does NOT take deposits nor do they have a mandatory 2 year waiting list.
You can snag a Birkin same day if you click with your SA.

Yup. Coach & MK, Kate Spade and Tory Burch are just not up their with Gucci, Chanel, LV etc.

That’s why I go for authentic luxury brands like Mesitus. Luxury is the scarcity, the craftsmanship, the brand values you see in each fine handcrafted creations, it’s rare, not the likes of these superficial tasteless fashion items!
Gotta say Fiorelli, Carvela and Fossil are my 3 fave affordable brands 🙌
I just bought a similar Prada wallet to the thumbnail and it’s amazing. Worth every damn cent.
Coach and Michael Kors are affordable luxury.
Wear what you’d like. Whether it’s mk or Hermès. You can’t take it with you once you die
So true.just have to leave it in your will!
I buy second hand for luxury. Otherwise been happy with Oroton. Got a handbag going 8 years strong despite going through hell.
Bruh coach is a hella good brand
If you have the money, Birkins are actually the best value-for-money bags because they cost more in the preloved market so you’ll likely get your money back (and some extra) if you decide to sell it.

@@MoNoK15Thanks for responding. I have had good experiences with Coach as well. Michael Kors seems to fall apart and the zippers always break. I find Coach leather is quite soft and feels nice.

Hermes are probably the only bags worth investing into.
I’ll pass on it even at the thrift store.

Interesting... but... they surely missed LV.... I am a huge fan of the Hermes quality in both leathers and workmanship, but the prices?....
Louboutins are very rare in the counterfeit markets but I heard that they're not comfortable
