Exactly. Back 20-30 years ago this would be pedestrian for a lot of rock bands. I didn’t hear an apology from either of them, so they must be in the same mindset.

Mainstream media is just different nowadays. A few decades ago it was a little more classy but these days the market is so competitive that journalists will get their greasy little hands on whatever will generate clicks.

I think everyone in this comment section forgets that there’s a difference between being edgy for a laugh and just being a dick and trying to get away with it because you’re famous. So many bands would be honored to play for that large a crowd and still have no one know who they are. These dudes have been nominated for many awards, sell out tours to their fans, and have a lot on their plate to be proud of that so many bands would dream of. The crowd never owes you any sort of applause, especially at a festival where so many artists are performing. I hope they kinda in a way feel humbled by the backlash to this, because as someone who loves myself some edgy behavior, I now see these guys differently from this and think they must be so far up their own asses.
& they don't owe us any kind of apology. I saw nothing wrong in how he acted. I've clapped and cheered for bands I don't even like. Especially if you waited half a day plus to be at the front, don't be a poop head it's not that hard haha crowd got what they gave.
A band is a band to me, no matter how big nor how small, there really shouldn't be any standards needing to be held up.
Royal Blood is amazing, honestly. If I was touring/invited to do a gig at a festival or someplace, and the crowd just wasn't it, I wouldn't blame myself nor bandmates for calling them out.

I was kicked out an open mic for shouting at the people to shut up.. it was loud but, only for a giggle. Everyone seems strung very high up now. Wonder when the strings will snap !

Nope sorry. This was the equivalent of going to Metallica and having to watch Lil Pump open for them. The audience was MORE than kind to them and no one knew who they were. When mids act like superstars, they very rarely become superstars

Imagine Kurt cobain getting this question. What happened to our poor souls being oversensitive. What happened to rock 'n roll. A band gets energy from the what the crowd give them as well. If they think the crowd is a bit lame they don' 't have to be the entertaining circus monkeys for me.
Kurt Cobain would have showed up in a dress, played the song at 0.25x speed, passed out on stage, and then people would buy 8 million more records because of it.

Honestly this interviewer sucks. Ben is so sweet he gave to the pressure but I was kinda expecting Mike to give him the what-for! Or at least one of those deep stares he can throw like Cillian Murphy. These guys are too kind!
Who gives a flying fuck. They are a rock n roll band. Mike should’ve said who gives a toss? Cos who does? No one😂 really wasn’t that deep.
So when I saw them at house of blues in Anaheim last year he was giving everyone the finger that was video recording. That's how people get to know you and share and talk. Seeing them in November here in LA. We love to watch and love to record too. Don't berate the fans

How to be Royal Blood:
Step 1: make and perform the most generic sounding modern rock music possible. ✅
Step 2: Perform said-generic rock music to a crowd who has absolutely 0 interest in you, and your music. ✅
Step 3: walk off in a hissy fit when the crowd unsurprisingly isn’t enjoying the generic same-same “rock” ✅
Proper bands don’t give a damn when the crowd isn’t feeling it, they just try and put on the best show possible. (Queen being a great example)
How to be a hater:
1. Watch videos of people you don't like
2. Type extremely long comments unprompted
3. Number them to make sure your opinion no one asked for "counts"
4. Post & wait patiently for a Karen to show up
