About Royal Blood
Brighton duo Royal Blood comprising drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist/vocalist Mike Kerr formed at the beginning of 2013. They quickly made their presence known, with pounding drums and heavily distorted bass guitar defining characteristics of their ferocious blues-rock sound. The band gained many plaudits early in their career, touring with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Iggy Pop and Foo Fighters, before going on to win Best British Group at the Brits in 2015 receiving their trophy from their musical hero and admirer Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Their catalogue boasts the Mercury Prize nominated self-titled debut album released in 2014 that spawned hits such as "Out of the Black, "Little Monster:, "Come On Over" and "Figure it Out", as well as their second successive UK number one album "How Did We Get So Dark?" released in 2017 which featured "Lights Out" and "I Only Lie When I Love You".

People might disagree, but this album feels like the boys let go of any sort of restrictions. For example, for typhoons it sounded like they were chasing a sound, which worked for some didnt work for others. Back to the water may not be the hard hitting Self-titled, but i think this album is smth the boys are proud of and instead of a chasing an idea, they let the idea come to them, And as a result, its a chill and down to earth album. So say what u want but for me this album is banger
Just my thoughts. This may not be the best album in my opinion, but I think it's refreshing that they're experimenting with new things. People seem to think that Royal Blood has "finally run out of ideas", just because the new album doesn't match their taste.

Think Mike said exactly that in an interview recently - rather than chasing a sound they just did what they felt natural, and them self producing this album allowed them to really expand their sound and do what they wanted.
Their's best album since Out of the Black album, for me a salid 8 💪😎🤘

Daaaaaaaaamn, they never stop showing their genius when creating such dark and iconic songs; definitely this album is the greatest proof that its beginnings are still present in one way or another.
And in particular, this song has certain overtones that are reminiscent of something gothic even, and I love that, in the same way that everything Royal Blood plays does.
