Surprisingly, we don't see street racers get arrested and taken to jail very often. Especially at Cash Days. Between good security, secluded spots, and local knowledge - racers do a fairly good job at avoiding handcuffs. But when you're in Texas in the middle of March on a weekend that is notorious for street racing.. you may not be so lucky.

they say go to tracks but also close them down
I'm all for track safety for both drivers and spectators, and the reason street racing is so frowned upon is because idiots often race on roads where there are uninvolved bystanders getting hit or killed. These cash days have some level of safety doing it in the middle of the night away from traffic roads, but if one of these cars gets sideways and gets cut in half by a phone pole who goes to jail? How many minutes does it take for the ambulance to get there?

@theKashConnoisseur reply facts tho. Most police departments sponsor race tracks in some way from. What I've seen. Like at bandimere sdeedway colorado state patrol sponsored the test n tune every weekend amd even brought cop cars and raced with us lol

How are the police supposed to stop real estate development? That's something that gets approved by local planning commissions comprised of the people you vote for. The way to influence these decisions is to attend planning commission meetings and speak up, or send a letter to be read in at the meetings.

This is a lame excuse. You know that. It's illegal to street race. It's their job to catch you breaking the law. When you were a kid and played cops and robbers did you cry like this when you got tagged. Did you start coming up with excuses why you shouldn't have been tagged? Or was that part of the game. The cops try to catch the robbers. The robbers try to get away. It's dumb to say well there's no tracks so we should be able to race wherever we want. I grew up skating and this was always brought up. There's no skatepark so we are going to skate wherever we want. But when the cops showed up we didn't argue we should be allowed. We ran and said fuck the police. This complaining and trying to get out of trouble with lame excuses is baby shit.

Go to a race track... Where they have way over the top tech inspections, insurance and registration restrictions, and 1 day a week racing. Racing doesn't happen on bankers hours folks. This is why it's done under the cover of darkness when no one is out and why you keep finding it in industrial areas... No one to hurt but ourselves, same as a track. Leave us alone and arrest a pedo, rapist, or find a missing person. There's a difference between resources well used and a complete waste. This was a complete waste
If you can't pass race track tech inspection, you shouldn't be racing on the streets, either. And when you send your foxbody through the side of an industrial warehouse because "I don't need no safety inspection, I know my car", you just hurt someone financially. And possibly physically if there's workers present.

That and how ridiculously expensive the tracks have gotten and you'll be lucky IF you get more than 2 passes in the ONE day they are actually open. Nobody is crashing these cars into warehouses, get real.

You are so close. Instead of saying "state" - investigate who locally is allowing the sale of those properties and stop them. Too much effort? Let the tracks close and go to jail then. Complaining on socials is the one thing that for SURE gets nothing done.
The State is not buying that property nor are they in charge of building homes. You need to at least figure out who to blame first.

What's the difference between an empty track and an empty street?
Absolutely fucking nothing.
Street racing is not a crime.
Off the top a track has safety barriers, runoff areas, emergency medical response on site, pre-race safety/tech inspections, track marsalls that can yellow flag after an incident, and grandstands to keep fans safely OFF the racing surface. Not to mention there's no private property lining the sides of the track for you to drive your car into.

The point is, that a "track" is just a paved, straight road, and a street, is just a paved, straight road.
Locations on the street are chosen specifically because they have enough room with run off.
No one's standing in the trajectory of the cars on the road, and people get told off or told to leave if basic common sense escapes them.
The work track employees do can just as easily be replicated by anyone else off track, and often is.
Ironically, many drag or circuit track employees, also street race, just FYI. Lot's of cops and military personnel do too.
Additionally, tracks are getting shut down everywhere or cost too much just for the privilege to make a couple of passes, that can be done in 15 minutes on a secluded road.

And we've seen plenty of videos on this channel where the spectators are standing on the road, right in the path of the vehicles. Nobody says a word to 'em either. Nobody kicks 'em out, and nobody has the authority to. Can't really kick someone off a public road, can ya. Unlike at a track, see. And saying "many people do X, Y, Z" doesn't change anything I've said. Nor do tracks getting shut down change things. If you're too lazy to drive a few hours, that's on you. if you're too broke to afford a track day, you probably shouldn't be building race cars. Get a second job instead.

Why do you assume that just because people street race that somehow that automatically means they're just going to crash into everything? You realize drivers attending these events are all consenting adults that have no desire to crash or hit anyone right? No one is just going to floor it at spectators just because. Or is that what you think happens?
Secondly, who do you actually think you are telling me how I should or shouldn't spend my money? You know nothing about me or my life. How I spend my money is absolutely none of your concern. There's a million other things I'd spend money on before I'll waste it at a track for a couple passes. Because the cost goes beyond just "entrance fee". It's needing to take time off and missing days of pay and for what? A couple of passes? No thanks, not for me, and not for many people.

The law in Texas specifically states it's against the law to race on a highway, like roll racing. Streets are not highways, so charging him with racing on a highway is a bogus charge. Hope his lawyer beat that charge.
I think it's wild the norm now is like 1300+ hp. 10 years ago it was 800-1k. Now you gotta have 1600 and higher to really do anything wild

I love Fairmonts, I had 3. 2 4 door sedans and 1 wagon. The Fairmont is a fox body so anything mustang bolts right up. All my fairmonts started life with the measley 2.3 4cyl and the 2 sedans had stroked 347's with 3.73 8.8's with auburn positraction rears and sub frame connectors but my wagon was my heavy hitter it had a bored and stroked 460 under the stock hood feeding through a tci C6 and a 4.11 9" rear. It ran consistent 5.2 at 130 in the 8th. The fairmonts are way under appreciated for sure.
Fairmont is the Ford sleeper 😢next to the tempo. The tempo fits a 460. No boring needed as the block is too thin, so idk what u talkin bout. Just head work and a big ass carb and 9in all u need.
@@John-pe6ld lol it's just called no replacement for displacement. Not saying that it had to have it but putting the bigger bored and stroked crank definitely increased my torque exponentially lol. Besides the wagon wasn't the final stop for the engine, I built it for my Bronco. I just put it in the wagon to have fun with it and break the engine in.
