I dont want to be rude, but this is very fascinating interview. She is talking for 15 minutes and says nothing of substance at all. I just dont understand those people this particular class of white americans who talk a lot all the time but say nothing at all. I have learned literally nothing.
I wondered what kind of job could one find, what is the cost of living there, things to do etc... and i learned that there is hot weather, oman is on coast and people are traditional. They wear pyjamas and there are no parties on canadian embassy. I wonder what she does all day long, if thats all she could come up with. I really dont want to be rude, but why would you agree with an interview and then say nothing at all? There was literally zero information, its like investigating a CIA spy.

Also, it's convenient if you're moving with your family since the British School Muscat is in the same neighbourhood. The beach is only a few minutes away of the neighbourhood.

At that time the country was closed to foreigners unless permitted. This has changed.

Oman is great if you wanna stop by for a limited time vacation
However, I advise you all to not move there... because there's a lot of Racism which people want to not talk about or avoid
People are losing their jobs due to something called "Omanization" and the conditions for survival if you're a foreigner are very harsh
In America , people can stand up to racism and even protest.... over in Oman people aren't even allowed to protest or speak for themselves...
The Government supports locals and will do nothing for foreigners , I advise you all once again... go there for a Vacation but do not go there for Job opportunities or a "better life"...

Because it is a Muslim country therefore the laws are based on religious rules in which men and women shouldn't be free mixing if they are strangers. It prevents any sort of immorality and the negative outcomes of it which are very clear to see in the west such as extremely high rape rate, a lot of women kidnapped and trafficked and the rampant sexual immorality and promiscuity which propagates broken families and single parent households which are statistically the biggest contributors to crime and prisons in the west. Islam takes a prevention is better than cure strategy which doesn't allow all of this to occur from the root of the issue and the severe punishments also create incentive to stick to these rules. This is why you always hear westerners say the middle east is the type of place you can leave your car unlocked or your wallet on the table. As well as the fact that the vast majority of people there are God-fearing and so they act accordingly, the lack of this is another factor that has led to the downfall of western society.

Question: Are Omanis political as a people, or do they just mind their own business for the most part. I’ll be more specific:
    1. Do Omanis have strong opinions about Israel?
    2. Do Omanis insist on calling the “Persian Gulf” something else? (Like UAE does)
    3. Do Omanis hate Indians, Iranians, and foreigners as a whole?
Be honest. They are not here, we don’t have to be polite.

1)The ICJ is about to have a very strong opinion on israel and the inhumane idf soldiers which will be an example to the rest of the world for history(a very high percentage of soldiers can be argued to be given death penalties based on evidences they happily provided on social media etc with no remorse)
      2) This has no effect on day to day lives most Omanis are probably not even aware it is a contested name, they just call it what they were taught in school.
3)There is a very large expat community there and there are no statistics showing a high level of these expats leaving, I believe Oman has the 11th largest Indian diaspora population in the world.
My personal opinion is that if you are the type of ignoramus who tries to defend israel and its inhumane genocidal acts then steer clear from all Muslim lands.
