5:53 That was the first kind of stonecutter. It could be used to craft things using cobblestone only, like stairs, slabs, and a furnace, iirc. Then in 1.14 that idea was brought back, with the stonecutter we know today.

it also couldnt tell the difference between smooth stone and the unpolished versions of granite, andesite and diorite. That meant instead of wasting coal smelting stone, you could just use unpolished stone variants to make smooth stone slabs, which were a highly sought after block since they looked nice and fuel was scarce.

that old stonecutter was beyond useless from what i remember, even if you clicked it, it didnt do nothin. i remember also searching a tutorial for using it and it said it was for "boosting tnt" or something

    • @Jake28
      @Jake28 Před 2 lety +5

@@r0bloxianofglory The old stonecutter was used to craft stone related blocks, IIRC it was because they couldn't fit all of the recipies in the crafting table. At , its functionality was removed (moved to the crafting table), and it was changed to just be a decoration block, only available from creative or old versions. Eventually, when the new stonecutter was added in village/pillage, the old one was removed from the creative inventory.
[Note: I'm recalling all of this from memory so some details might be off.]

That furnace lookin block with gears was actually the old MCPE exclusive "Stonecutter", but in the modern era of Minecraft, it was added in 1.14 (Village and Pillage). Used for its namesake, cut stone. But gotta admit it, it's was very nostalgic seeing it again and i remember using it since you can't really craft stone blocks in a normal crafting table back then.

5:49 That's the legacy era Stonecutter! It was to make other stone-related blocks before it's use got removed, then re-added back in 1.14 with a completely separate design!
I remember playing on my iPad 2 that my dad gave me at the time and I remember playing it with my brother, mostly playing on multiplayer, building huge weird wool structures, fighting each other and nodding at the corpse of the fallen player because it looked funny. I also remember mining for items, killing mobs for the sake of it, seeing the drops enter my inventory, only to realize none of them entered my inventory. A couple things I remember differently is that items would drop, yet none would enter your inventory, and finally, you COULD save worlds, but only 1, and once you created a new world, the older one would delete itself

anyone else remember the seed 'nyan100' or something like that? it had a huge overhang with 3 sources of flowing lava, a small ocean and a snowy area near spawn. This wasn't on PE lite, and I only played PE Lite once or twice, but i figured it might be a source of nostalgia for some people.
I remember memorising the location of iron and diamonds and duplicating them with my brother when we were 6 or 7. we used to build rollercoasters through the overhang and I had a small wooden house with wool decorations on top of it. I remember my brother killed all the sheep so i had to kill spiders to craft wool.
I also made 'the most expensive tiny house' in a flatter area near spawn, which was a 4x3x3 building made of quartz and diamond blocks, with an iron door and a ladder in the middle leading to a huge labyrinth of tunnels, secret rooms and buildings. I wish I still had the world, but I shattered my iPod in anger because the battery wore out and would last around 5 minutes from 100%. shit was nostalgic.

We made sure not to close it out of the app tray, as that would forever delete the world. One day while working on it, I discovered flint and steel. I think I was trying to build a fireplace or something but it went wrong and I ended up burning down the hotel. I tried putting it out with water but I don't remember it working. I remember playing with some other kids from my sisters soccer team(the teammates younger sibling who were around my age) in a hotel on an out of town tournament. The thing I remember doing the most in it was finding the edge of the world, building a small wood wall so I could safely go outside at night without worrying about the zombies. I figured out it had been removed a few years later when my friend didn’t have the full version on his phone and decided we could still play on this version but had no luck finding it on his device.

The world I used in the full version had the nether reactor core and that weird red glow stone block that didn’t really have a proper name, but you could mine it and keep it. And it was from the center of that nether tower before the nether portal even existed in MCPE until 2015. As of today in 1.19, I still have the world from data backup with a new iPad and still play it and it’s the only world in my game that still has those old blocks. Unfortunately I lost some years ago 99% of my minecraft creations on my xbox 360 and on the old iPod touch, and it's still painful to think about it, but there are also a lot of nostalgic vibes. Sometimes I wish that I could turn back time and see again my lost worlds. Anyway, great video buddy, thank you for this childhood throwback, keep goin! :)

Oh boy do I remember this... Sheep sometimes attacking me in survival mode, opaque ice, a floating platform/labrinth type house I built, the darkish grass... and the lack of biomes outside of the ones that your world generated with - since worlds on there weren't inf dev... Yeah it really brings me back... a shame I didn't know about the google thing, but I could probably get them back if I were to just install pocket edition and log in with my mothers account perhaps.

You need stone to cut is the old crafting machine thiny that was needed to cut stone. In very old Minecraft what also I can remember, grafel did not fall same as desert sand. It did not fall. Even when you placed it then and updated it into the time it did coukd fall. It would only fall when broken one or placed one next to it.

The first time I played Minecraft it was on my friends computer, java edition back in 2012 I think.
After that I was obsessed, after begging my dad to buy it (it was very cheap at this time, java was like 8$ or something) I finally got to play it on a very laggy laptop we had, not my own so I couldn’t play much unfortunately. I also had minecraft on phone (yes, lite version too).
I still play this game today, and one of the few singleplayer worlds that I actually play on to this day is from 2013 I believe.

The first version I played Minecraft PE was "Alpha v0.7.1" it was around back on 2013-2014 when I started to learn how to download from the Google Website, it was good ol' and simpler times, it was the full version btw, and it has contents such as Skeletons, Spiders, Nether Reactor Cores, etc. Enchantments are not on that version yet as they were introduced in "Alpha v0.12.1" and higher

I can’t tell you just how many good memories I have with Minecraft lite. I made my first world on this version, and I still remember it vividly. I had a nice brick house, on a snow covered world, I also had a treehouse with a big glass room, one wall was cut off by the world border, which I liked because I thought the world border was an inaccessible portal to other worlds. I also had a big garden around my house with those blue roses, which I had to preserve because I couldn’t place them back. I remember being too scared to load a world up in survival as well, because of the zombies and the impenetrable darkness of the moonless night. I wish I could go back to that first world of mine, but I’m afraid it’s lost to time.

CZcams in 2011 brought me to fun. Game's there was simple and I built a little house and a bunker because the zombies are annoying and treat it as a zombie apocalypse, I also store pigs and sheeps trying to push them down into my two block tall wood it was tedious but served it.

I managed to get Minecraft Pocket Edition Lite and played on that version for almost for a year I believe. I honestly didn't know it was just the lite version. All I did was build "hotels" that looked like my favorite Minecraft youtubers.
