"A year or two and this could become common place" - Where's my printer ffs. The amount of times i've been sat in traffic without a printer, needs to be sorted ASAP.
@3:00 “One day a car without a phone will be as unusual as a house or flat without without a phone!!” If only he knew how mobile technology would advance... loads of people I know only have a mobile now and don’t bother with a landline, so we’re heading for nobody having a phone in the car or the house or the flat because we just keep it in our pocket!!
Ford had this completely wrong. There was an assumption that cell phones would be a part of your car. It wasn't unreasonable at the time, since range and power of the signals was very limited in any of the portable phones of 1990. A car phone put out 4 watts through a much more efficient antenna so it had superior range. Ford didn't recognize that better and smaller cellphones and batteries were on the way that would make the car phone obsolete, and it all happened in just about five years from this film. Ford must have taken a bath on this program.
I wonder if Nick knew we’d be actually watching this on a mobile phone 29 years later?
He didn't have a clue.the dumb bastard
Hahahahaha! That's funny!
@@johnsmith-wx5fbhe’s made millions on property, wish I was has dumb has him !
Don't have nightmares
I always used to wonder what Nick Ross was up to when he wasn't presenting Crime watch once every four weeks!
And then his co presenter was shot in the head. So i dont think i'll be comforted by that

Still waiting on that in-car photocopier to become commonplace, Ford
It's the technology we need, but not the technology we deserve right now.
I’ve looked over eBay for the fax machine many times can’t see them. Wonder if it made it to mass production
I am going to get one of these car phones when they come out.
Volvo were using mobile phones and services in 1987.... They were using the RDS system on their FM radios at the same time.
"Please hurry. I'm just a woman and too scared to drive in the rain. Please save me, O white knight"
errr. not everyone can or wants to change their own wheel. regardless of gender. stop being offended
Printer on the car is the one thing that mobile phones in this era cannot do it.

These days by the time some new tech is ready to go to market it's obsolete already.
Ford sold carphones for a decade after this, so they hardly "took a bath".
In a year or two this will be hopelessly outdated.
