One of the biggest reasons they give high level players "second chances" is so that they can establish a database of confirmed cheated games that they can use to compare against suspicious games. This is super important in making their cheat detection model as strong as possible. Also super important for improving their model as they can go over those games with a fine tooth comb and improve its overall specificity.

Check out Ding, Nepo, Aronian, and Anand -- all 16 or later. For example, Nepo born 07/90, final GM norm in 05/07, almost 17 years old; Vishy was 18. he's very young, and without doubt, talented. Danny sees that Hans is a strong GM, and tried to protect him for his reputations. but hans seems to have taken advantage of that and cheated more. what a guy. now he deserves the defamation. no one cares if he's good in chess or if he's really playing well in otb. no one's gonna believe a cheater.

Hans HAS to be banned across the board by the whole chess community. If he isn't, not only does it look AWFUL for chess, but it lets every single person out there know that you can cheat all you want, there are zero consequences. Sure you might get banned on Chesscom if they catch you, but just say sorry and you will be right back in money matches. This is insane.
