Hongjoong is such an underated dancer. As a dancer with 15 years experience he is the most satisfying to watch in my opinion.
Answer is my number 1 song by them, just the emotions and the meaning it has, I can never get enough of our queen, Answer! But it's also full of references to their story - both as real life ATEEZ members which you caught on like saying started from desert means they came from nothing (which is very true with KQ as their company etc) and I think you got the message of the song, but also it has a lot to do with their storyline like the desert is straight reference to their very first songs, Pirate King & Treasure, which were mostly filmed in a desert if you remember. Also Mingi says "Remember, from your head to your toes, together, say my name" and you know, their song named Say My Name. AND they are also mentioning both waves and fireworks 😉
And yes, you recognized Halateez (the black clothed suicide squad ATEEZ from Hala Hala) and the white masked person here is circling the same table where ATEEZ and Halateez toasted, but now the room is destroyed and you did indeed saw the white mask in Fireworks too, yeah^^
ATEEZ storyline is also explained more in their physical album "Diary" versions and in their Kingdom performances! And as for timeline, Fever album series (so songs from Inception to Deja Vu/Eternal Sunshine) is prequel to the Treasure era (so songs from Pirate King to Answer - from the Treasure albums), and also do watch the Diary Film which was released at the same time as Inception & Thanxx, it explains more about the Fever prequel story. But Treasure era ended with Answer and now the Fever era is ending with this comeback, who knows where they take us next on their journey!
Also the storyline can be a bit complicating, there are some good theory videos out there like The Bookish Theories -channel if you want a bit more explanation :D
You got Yeosang right, but mixed Jongho and Yunho in the MV (which is very common at the beginning - Yunho is the tallest member of ATEEZ if that helps). And Korean language doesn't really have that sound English A as in "cat" (sound æ), it's instead pronounced like A in "car" in Korean words. Hope that helps with Yeosang and San's names, but as my native is Finnish and I only know a bit Korean if someone wants to add/corrent feel free!

In the lyrics, you will see references to their earlier songs… milestones in their journey… eg. their start from desert as in Pirate King… call me as in Say My Name… over the Wave etc… it’s fun to find these little bits as you enjoy the song & performance…
The "cowboy" hats or bolero hat is a signature accessory for what some Atiny call dark Ateez or Halateez (Hala Hala Ateez). I personally think that Halateez represents a dark side that each of us has. They could represent many things to different people like aggression, depression, doubt, etc., and can be looked upon as bad, but I think that embracing or accepting this side will create a balance in a person like two sides of the coin or yin & yang.

The story line it’s a bit crazy and I know that there’s dark Ateez ( dress in black from Hala Hala). I think they finally made peace with each other in this video since they are toasting with their dark side but 🤷🏽♀️ who knows, lol… Love that you take your time and react to our boys, you are one of my favorite reactors

Answer was my first Ateez song.. since then Ateez songs are top 2 in my play list 🥰❤loving them...and my wooyong 🥰
ATEEZ storyline is of parallel worlds & time travel. My take is Ateez and "dark" Ateez (some Atiny say Halateez). The group exists in both. Halateez have the bandit outfits. Ateez are pirates. Both versions have to come together to prevent a dystopian future/tragedy (stop the man in White) by finding the treasure. It's an epic storyline so a lot of their songs have a "world music" anthem-like style. (The chronology, I believe is Wonderland "begins" the journey and goes "back" to Treasure. Answer shows the two groups meeting to make a plan. Inception and Thanxx are the groups' teen past. You can see one group lives in dystopia. The other has a tragedy/hard lives.) So this is their back story where a mysterious Halateez man visits Hongjoong for the first time. ... I've probably got some of the outline off, but it's a great concept. Even in Kingdom, they carried the theme.

Hey! Saw some comments trying to explain things and I totally agree if someone were to try to explain everything in a comment it'd be a whole book but I'm gonna try and explain a few things (some were already explained in others comments, bu I'll try my best).
First and foremost, the Fedora (not cowboys) hats people are called "Halateez" - and it's a name used by Ateez themselves, not only atinys. As you saw in this video, they both coexist, but that's not the right thing to happen so the White-masked guy is after them to try make things right. (gonna explain this later)
All their journey (mvs) are connected, but they're not released in a chronological order, so even if some of them have some kind of spoiler (like Fireworks) at the end, it's just a spoiler (the sound, not what's happening). The right order of the story begins with Fever series, and there is a official video called Diary Film that explains a lot (really, a lot) of things about their concept - how it all began and why, for example. It's a sixteen minutes long video, if I'm not wrong.
The hourglass is a very important object/symbol on their concept, that is all about dimensions and time-travel, so it can get harder to understand everything. By the way, even though Kingdom's performances were not released as mvs, they still tell a lot about their story line and concept, and are a must watch as any other mv if you're trying to understand their story.
Answer is the last video before Answer - Ode to Joy (kingdom), but that doesn't mean it won't have any other video in between. Inception is the first after the Diary video, all the others are between those two (Inception-Answer). I was thinking hard about this now, but Fireworks, as it's in the Fever series, it's one of the first videos, but thinking about it, it might not be the third (I saw a comment before that had the MVs in order but I can't find it now, I'm sorry), even though the white-masked guy appear, if it's in order, it's his first appearance, if it's not, he's just chasing them anyway so I don't think it changes anything.
Okay, coming back to the story line, we have the pirate concept ateez, and halateez, and they're from different dimensions. After HongJoong turned the hourglass (again, watch the Diary video), it created the opportunity for them to meet (in Say My Name, it was their first time seeing each other), and at first the pirate ateez thought the halateez were bad guys, so they have this animosity between them. In Hala Hala, it's only halateez. After this, in Answer, they understand they're both not bad guys (not gonna say good guys since it's not really explicit anywhere) and they get into an agreement to fight together against the white-masked guy that is chasing them, which happens in Ode to Joy (kingdom). Okay.
After all this lesson, that are a few things I would like to remark.
In Answer, when they're getting to an agreement and they all drink together, you can see that Seonghwa doesn't. His drink is the only untouched. And in Wooyoung's scene, you can count seven butterflies, as if he's not one. Mingi's part alone on the boat has its meanings as well. And Yeosang's part with the broken glass has its meanings as well (it all comes back to the hourglass, and it's related to Fireworks and Say My Name, even Pirate King - the desert thing).
Some say Seonghwa is aware of everything, so he doesn't drink because it's all an illusion. Wooyoung is as well, so he's just watching everything. (Basically, if you go back to Say My Name, all eight are sitting together, four to four, and the side with Seonghwa, Wooyoung, Hongjoong and San are the ones aware, and the other side (Yunho, Mingi, Jongho and Yeosang) aren't. Yeosang's trapped in this glass thing, and in some scenes you can see San in the mirror seeing Yeosang on the reflect, so if you connect everything, Yeosang has always been trapped, in various mvs he's related so a piece of mirror, and that's probable why. Also, Wooyoung realize things when he see Halateez Yeosang, and Seonghwa never got enchanted, as seen in SMN, the Halateez Seonghwa takes his mask off and he's not even surprised.) AND, in kingdom's Wonderland (Symphony nº9) it's better seen and further explained, since Seonghwa, who's aware, masks himself as Halateez Seonghwa and with the hourglass (that Hongjoong stole once again [it was lost] in Rythm Ta performance, also Kingdom) he finally free Yeosang from this glass thing where he was trapped, and in the story line, they finally confront white-masked guy. In Answer (ode to joy), San sacrifices himself to kill the white masked guy, and Wooyoung who's also aware of everything try to stop him (it doesn't change anything though). these both performances are their final fight with the white masked guy, so it's definitely after this video (Answer).
Phew.
I do think there's more to say (and a lot of theories, some truly makes all the sense in the world, like the Neverland [Peter Pan] theory, that it also shows on some of the kingdom's performances, and in deja vu, fireworks, illusion and others), but that's just too much on one plate. I'm just really happy that you're interested and that you can see the references, some people don't see them at all, but it is a lot to digest. And I didn't even mentioned everything, seriously. I don't think I even know everything (known by the majority, of course, most are guesses and theories), but I'll conclude my comment here. Hope you understand a little bit more about everything, and that I explained well enough to do so. Also, don't forget to watch the Diary video, it has a lot of answers (lol).
PS.: I just wanted to say that one of your comments on the video was about the lyrics, and most of their songs - not even titles, the discography itself - talk about their story (as people, idols, celebrities, friends, humans), as in Win, Pirate King, Answer, Celebrate, THANXX (one of my favorites, love the message), Say My Name and a lot others. One of the things that made me fall even harder for them was the fact that they don't sing about love songs all the time, as the majority does, and that surprised me so much - it was so refreshing. Still is. And I love them for that.

I wanted to say that I love your reactions to Ateez, I see you value their work, I suggest you also watch the version of Anwser in the kingdom where they literally threw the crown away and decided to simply perform for the Atinys and not to win the program, the Atinys asked them so much for this song, the lyrics by Ateez really help the Atinys a lot to go through difficult times like TAKE ME HOME. about the mv
the objects on ANWSER's mv table are in ILLUSION, as is Yeosang in the PI desert.
RATE KING holding a broken mirror like SAY MY NAME and Wooyong with the 8 butterflies that also appear in the mv, they just travel back in time, just like the part of Wooyong that seems to snow he is in a broken hourglass and Hoongjong in the clock of pointers making mention, at the end of the mv the room is destroyed and also has a lot of soot, as well as the fire in firework

I don't know if you noticed but they name check their other songs, Say My Name & Wave in Answer & when they are all sat at the table that is the dark Halateez from Hala Hala. Also 'the desert with nothing, we started there' line is a reference to their debut songs that were filmed in the Sahara Desert. So basically they are celebrating how far they have come since the debuted, which is why they are raising their glasses in a toast.
I love all their songs coz ATEEZ has no bad songs but ANSWER is always be my #1,and HONGJOONG is always be my # 1 bias.

Yeah so Ateez has a storyline for their songs.... Dont ask me exactly what it is tho cuz I don't know lol. All I know is dude in white outfit has been in Answer and Fireworks. And those same black outfits with the hat are in Say My Name, Hala Hala, and Answer. I assume they are alter egos of the members but im not sure and I have no clue about the person in white. And then the pirate stuff also.
Also don't forget their song Thanxx it was released right after Inception. That was another time when Atiny got to vote for the title track and obviously Inception got picked and then we got a mv for Thanxx like a week later.

ATEEZ lyrics goes with their TITLE like the lyrics in ANSWER that it says scared , painful , afraid and the others ( sorry I forgot hihi ) it's like in WAVE that there's a lyrics that says " go away , go away ; remove all hesitation " like that for example
that's why ATEEZ have really great meanings of their lyrics and they're always careful about it
That's what I like in ATEEZ cares about fans wants to show their love for ATINY from the lyrics of every song ( since its pandemic ) and many more
ATEEZ are worth for being loved
For me personally, Ateez is one of the kpop groups that really clearly think, plan and play into the fact that they have an established storyline. It's clear that there are so many direct links and easter eggs present throughout their MVs even when the concept, sound and styling changes so much between songs. And I really appreciate that dedication to building a story.
I think sometimes groups, come up with a storyline but don't fully commit to it or sometimes try to, it seems, retrospectively force the narrative onto the new concept idea/visuals... and in those instances I always wonder if the idea of having storylines is really helping or if it becomes a burden for the creators and somewhat distracting for the listeners. But Ateez have cracked the code... the storyline is still very vague (in terms of what has actually 100% been confirmed), but the referencing and the connection between videos is clearly SO intentional that it helps build a structure for the story and allows Atiny to really fruitfully invest in the narrative and try to figure out what happens. They've created a world and it becomes really easy to lose yourself in their universe... very intelligently done :)

But as far as storyline goes in order it should be:
1. The whole Fever series (beginning with Inception and Thanxx and now ending with Dejavu and Eternal Sunshine album)
2. Say My Name and Hala Hala album (that’s prequel of Treasure series)
3. The rest of Treasure in order (beginning with Treasure & Pirate King, skipping Say My Name and Hala Hala as that prequel, and ending with Answer).
Time travel or dimension travel is part of the storyline as you can see, lol 😄
Order of their songs in the album is also important, because some songs are connected with one that’s after it, ex. Illusion, Crescent and Wave.
And lyrics are easier to interpret if you listen to the whole album including B- sides in order. And know that they usually don’t talk about romantic love but more abstract concepts, especially in Treasure series.
And Inception was released before Thanxx, probably as Dejavu will be before Eternal Sunshine ❤️

I know its hard to choose a bias in ATEEZ since all of them are talented and handsome 😆😍 the first person who caught my attention was Hongjoong when they were performing in KINGDOM thats when I started becoming a ATINY at first I also had a hard time choosing who my bias will but as it goes on Seonghwa officially became my Bias and Yunho , Jongho & Hongjoong are my bias Wrecker also little by little Wooyoung & Yeosang are starting to catch my attention so now I'm completely confused 😆😆
