  • Welcome back Drinkers!
This week we head to the Pacific Northwest and try some Washington bourbon! ya, you heard that right folks, the west coast is calling our whiskey name! We have Woodinville's normal straight bourbon whiskey and their single barrel barrel strength expression of the same lineage. Does higher proof mean better? We are gonna find out in this whiskey review. I think it is time for some Alchohol Content!

Just bought a Woodinville bourbon store pick in Charleston SC. 116 proof at $79.99. Very good pour in my opinion. Vanilla, butterscotch, Good taste but not too much finish.Gotta try the BP Rye if I can find it. Appreciate the video, guys.

Glad you are enjoying it! The store picks also can have some variation so it could be different from our bottle. I would def recommend the Rye though. Thanks for the comment, Cheers!

I would have to agree with your preferences for the 90 proof when drinking it straight.
I will point out though that the Cask Strength is nice to have on the rocks. As the ice brings the temperature down and melts in a little bit it does smooth it out and open up some more flavors. The other advantage of starting at the higher proof is it makes me less inclined to down it quickly before it gets “too watered down”, if you know what I mean.
Thanks for the review, guys. Cheers!

We will have to give it a try on ice and see if we can tame it a bit. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

Don't really want anything from woodinville even though I'm about 2 1/2 hrs away from them, I'll probably try them out once they get some older stuff out on the market. Since they're semi newer, 2010. I've thought about their cask strength but idk if it's older barrels as well. If it's 8+ I may give it a buy/try
Edit were called Washingtonians! So it'd be a Washingtonian hug!
Side note the season over the cascades are drastically different and I'd say as soon as you cross the mountain it's basically eastern wa which is basically plains plateaus/ desert. The weather is essentially the same but drastically different, every season turned to 11 once they hit.

ya them getting some older stuff will be interesting to see if/when it gets better. Their normal offerings are pretty good and worth trying out. Especially if you just go and visit the distillery and see what they have there and do a tasting.
      Thanks for Watching and cheers!

I took a chance on a store pick of the bourbon at higher proof. Did not like it at all. Terrible finish.

Ya, was a bit of a disappointment for us as we are fans of their barrel strength rye and some of their lower proof offerings, but ya. Sucks you aren't enjoying it much. It's always fun to take a bottle you may not be a big fan of and do blinds with them or compare them before/after other bottles to see if you can pull anything you can appreciate out of it. Seems like you are on the same page as us for this bottle though. Cheers!
