Aah, finally the kind of song I was yearning for. It is good to branch out but the branches can reach the skies only when the roots are strong. Always glad to return to the roots after being a musical vagabond, as we have been through season 14. Your observations are very astute and that makes me happy. Thagyan itself is such a quaint word nowadays. They have translated it as trickery but i wonder if that is a right translation. Mayhaps mischief would fit better.... what do you think?
I need to give it more thought but what I get right now is someone wanting to get near to God and doing what is asked for but still not reaching anywhere near God and hence saying what he is saying.
Thag is a thief who steals with tricks. Thag lena is a commonly used phrase. Thagyan is quite aptly translated to trickery. In this case, the word doesn't have evil connotations (it's more like tricked me into love). It could also be a lamentation/complaint of the fact that the tricks of the beloved have captured the lover. Notice that QB's part also mentions her lack of belief in the words of her lover. This means the song could very well be a conversation between two lovers complaining to each other. Mischief is not the adequate translation of the word.
The man on the mandolin is Haider Ali, He is one of the best musicians in Pakistan, who play string instruments. I love and enjoy his skills with multiple instruments.
Queen B! and that walk. I'm loving the representation of women in Coke Studio this season. From Abidaji, Naseeboji, Eve B, Sheemaji, Momina, Shae Gill, Justin Bibis to Arooj Aftab and Meesha Shafi. Little of the male or western gaze present. I don't know if this was a deliberate decision or not but its delightful
I think it was deliberate. Someone mentioned in one of the magical journies. A lot of female crew members are there off camera as well this time, i think.
@@WritingRahul had to come back and say this is my favorite of the season. Entire story in a song. He's in a place somewhere singing about his love, complementing her 'trickery'. She walks in and is having none of it. The dynamics with him sitting down and her standing. Its fun, mischievous, clever, the love language of this song is cheeky but also complimentary, admiring and respectful, we have characters, dynamics. The unique vocals. Its so so clever and joyous

It’s a beautiful qawwali and QB’s vocals were so top notch with just ease. Your reactions on the vocals and music is very minimalistic..I watched some of your videos after the pasoori reaction (it was on point) but it seems your focus is ‘more’ on the visuals and trivia’s rather than the artists, vocals and music. Just stating what I felt.

In the magical journey they explain that it’s a love song qawwali but I guess it could always be interpreted both ways
I thought that most Qawwalis are based on Sufi poetry so got that interpretation.

Actually I think this is one of the BEST productions from CSP this season. It's like that fine wine that keeps growing on you and keeps getting better each time you listen to it.
Zain and Zohaib are simply awesome. QB I think kept her cool and stayed confined letting the duo take the lead on high notes.
It's a treat as visual as it is to listen to.

@@WritingRahul I simply love it. It is based on two different sides. 1 is qawwali n other is juggle bandi which is pretty much hard to combine but it is superb with powerful vocalists n soothing music. I don't know much about depth of music but it is superb.

Just for today I didn't check CZcams the minute I clicked and boom coke Studio already released anither song 😂 these people are so unpredictable.. I started it and then I saw your reaction video so I thought today I should react with your video and listened it on your video for the first time.. So this is the punhsbi conversation between 2 lovers who are complaining with each other that "you're ignoring me, you said at first that you'll keep your promises but now it's fading away" And all that.. Everything was going right then you paused video at Qurat ul ain's entry and I was like. "Please please don't do this let me hear her first 😂🙏 but I glad you did it.. That's how I came to know that both of us sharing same views about it.. It was very good to hear your views on it at the same time when I was processing my thoughts 👍

Appreciate your comments bro. For the most very great observations. However I humbly disagree with the comment about relationship with God. Thagyan with God ? No. It’s a simple dialogue between two lovers. Each giving their side of the cheating story. Overall great reaction.
I agree I talked about the song in a way which is not aligned with the lyrics. I realised after listening to the song over a few times.

Didn't find any sufism or divinity there. As musically modernized Qawwali this one surely scored 8.5 /10 for singing and instrumental skills. Video is another subject.
I agree, the presence of Sufism or divinity in the lyrics is not that strong. Just the line 'Dumiya to akk gaye aa, tere naal gal gaye aan' caught my attention. But all that aside, as a song it's just so good!
@@WritingRahul Claps were subdued, repetition of lines was not as much as in regular Qawwalies, where the team builds up the mood for final kill by the lead. Rest you already have covered / explained beautifully.
