  • Are you someone who makes New Year’s resolutions? 🎇
Martha enjoys making one (yes, one) each year-and she always keeps it!
In this episode of The Gathering Room: A Year of Peace, she talks about her resolution to increase her brain’s wellbeing by dropping demands that have an overriding feeling of negativity and tend to make her brain shut down.
Research that has shown that our brains work best when we can answer YES to two questions:
    Am I safe?
    Am I loved unconditionally?
After basic survival, Martha says, love is the next imperative. When we feel safe and we feel loved, it’s amazing how fast we can learn, how much we can create and do-and how much happier our lives can be.
Tune in for the full episode to learn how to let go of the demands we place on ourselves for no good reason, hear about some of the demands Martha has dropped so far, and join her for her guided Space, Silence, and Stillness meditation.

I was just praying I could thank Martha for her videos. But the one I was watching had the comments closed. Prayers answered, thank you Martha. 🎉❤😊

I want to join in the chorus of “I’m so glad the comments section is open” and “Martha changed my life!” I have wanted to comment on more Gathering Rooms than I can count. You have truly expanded my conception of Self through your presence and your book recommendations. I am forever grateful and I promise to continue the ripple effect of the transformation of consciousness!
Thank you Marty, Row, Karen, and the Team at MBI! I hope we meet someday 😊

Martha, thank you for iterating the process I've been in with my life, my relationships, my work and my Self for the past 3 years. I'm in that spot right now where the joy has been building, the sense of play has been growing and the residual tension is decreasing in my body from the somatic stretch practice I've trained in and made my own. I feel pregnant with my own simultaneously more childlike and more Adult self. I haven't found a modality before to drop residual tension baseline through dialogue with sensation in accord, where the mind's job is to find things to relax to serve the body instead of dictating what it should do and how far it should get. Then the whole system is allowed to flow with less defensive/protective orientation. I'd love to share it with you and will await, perhaps forever! an invitation to offer back to you that which I have received over the last 20 years of taking you in.

    Beautiful resolution, I love it.
One of my favorite things is watching my dog’s joy in the moment as he sniffs and smells on our walks. It’s a great inspiration to be in my joy in the moment. We get to be joyful together! ❤
