HOF Azuma Nelson the best African boxer. Greetings from Mexico to Ghana. Your figth against Sal Sanchez is a golden piece of art. Thanks.
Thanks for appreciating Azumah as a great fighter
In the eyes of us Ghanaians there are only 2 real boxing nations. 🇲🇽and 🇬🇭. Massive love from Ghana.
@@charlesanim-mensah359as a Mexican it was an honor having Azuma Nelson as Salvador Sanchez’s last ever opponent 🇲🇽 🇬🇭💚
Azumah Nelson !! The Great Warrior From Ghana Champion In The Ring & Life !! Attended Sanchez’s Funeral After Being Beaten By Him 2 Weeks Prior....What More Can U Say About This Man...Forever A Champion A !!
Azumah Nelson : class act went to Sal funeral ...boxers fight for the money but they still love their brothers
I'm a huge Sanchez fan. Unfortunate reading some of the comments. Nelson is a class act. Ever since this fight he's had nothing but the kindest words to say about Chava for almost 40 years. It's interesting reading comments left by people who are pretending as though they've actually watched this fight
I don't know Mario. Google 'Ring Magazine Best I Faced Azumah Nelson' and have a read. You may change your view once you do. Whilst he does not say anything disrespectful about Sanchez he refuses to give any credit, it's like Salvador Sanchez did not exist.
@@marknorris1381 He was right there with a bonafide HOF great in the the 15th rd in only his 14th or 15th fight. He doesn't have exactly a great reason to have been very impressed i think.
@@mariosanchez8236 I don't think so. Other reasons I think. But anyway, we all have our opinions. All the best.
@@marknorris1381 We certainly do, yes. Thanks for sharing yours in a way not often seen in comment sections when opinions differ. Respect is always nice to see.
Outta curiosity, when going into the last round of the Sanchez vs Nelson fight, do you see Sanchez as being clearly far ahead, or clearly winning?
@@mariosanchez8236 Nelson had moments but Sanchez dominated the action going forward and countering.and Sanchez fights every second of every round.and Nelson was a journey man who are always fight fit.and Sanchez was a a disadvantage too.he just to finished camp for Mario Miranda who was like 22/0with 20kos or something like that he was tearing through the division anyways.plus the fact nelson was an unknown Sanchez may have looked past him or been complacent .so I don't like that two week theory either
Nelson was actually winning before the ko
@@seetsamolapo5600 Nope!!!! Get it together.
No was not!!!!!
Love azumah nelson. Great champ. Sal Sanchez is waiting in heaven to give this great man his rematch.
Wow! What a fight! Blessings to Ghana and my beloved Mexico. Lands of true boxing warriors…
Wow!! Taking this fight with only 2 weeks notice and possibly giving the fight of his life. Impressive!! 😱😱
Apparently he was ahead on 2 of the judges cards. In my opinion, Azuma gave Sanchez his toughest fight.
Would of beaten him if he fully prepared.
Shame he got KO'ed then.
Going into the 15th round Nelson was ahead on only one card. Official Judging
Castellano 135 - 131
Reid 132 - 133
Aidala 134 - 131
Two Judges had Sanchez ahead. If Nelson went the distance, after the fifteen round, Sanchez would have won a unanimous decision with a two point round from Judge Reid.
Azumah was and always will be a class act, a true gentleman.
Not according to his excuses to why he lost this fight, it didn't seem to me like he wasn't prepared to fight and the mouthpiece crap, if someone hits you so many times that you bounce back, you have to get some blood from somewhere.
Un buen ser humano 🤝
My respects for Azuma Nelson Great Champ..Gran Campeon 🏆
This is boxing, he is a real champions
One of my favorite fights to watch. Sal was just so smooth, calm and professional, especially for his age. Azuma was a ball of raw determination and would have beaten any other fighter in their weight division on that night. Classic fight
This was such a good fight, I mean Nelson gave an all time great a really good fight.
U r still a champion
El más chingon sal sanchez
Two of the greats from my childhood and a golden era for boxing. I loved Danny Lopez and was awed by how good (and young) Sanchez was. Wish he (and his 70's afro) had lived longer. Such a great multi talented FW. Just illustrates how good both men were
Azumah a great fighting man....
This fight was a beautiful fight, but as much as Gomez and Nelson say to themselves that they would've beaten Sanchez in the rematch... talk to Danny Lopez about that, see how that went. being late replacement , not enough time to train, and the mouth guard, just isn't enough for how all time great that was Sanchez.
You are right, Danny Lopez was one thought fighter with a punch and Sanchez took him apart on the first fight and on the rematch.
Lopez was no Nelson. Styles made fights and Lopez used to eat a lot of punches.
Nelson was actually winning before he the ko
Noooo, because the second fight, Salvador knew the style fighter , remember Salvador was a great boxing, and smart inside the ring
@@seetsamolapo5600 in your wildest dreams! Sánchez was too smart at his short age! He let Nelson punch himself out. He knocked Nelson out (and most of his KO’s for that matter!) without even trying! He was that talented!!!!
Without excuses Salvador beat you up and you don't have to be ashamed of yourself.
He's not ashamed. He's saying the truth. He was given only two weeks notice. But I do believe Sal Sanchez would have beaten him again, because Sal was a technical fighter with lots of movement and a hard punch. And the next time around just as Azumah would be ready, Sal Sanchez would have been way more prepared.
Azumah Nelson is one of the greatest boxer and faced one of the greatest boxer as well. If there was a rematch I believe Sanchez would win, you got to understand that Sanchez was ready but to fight another fighter and only had two weeks to prepare for Azumah Nelson as well.
azumah very educated man..he went to mexico to respect a man who defeated him once....rematch you ll lose again by points or ko
Azumah showed amazing poise and toughness for being so green, and he would've beaten most featherweight champs in history that night, just not Salvador who was a true prodigy who died much too young... a legend AND a what-if? too
On the rematch, sorry Mr. Nelson, he would not have beaten Sanchez.
Nelson had more than one chance to win a second fight
And how would you know??
Nobody beats Azumah twice ....get it
@@odenehod.k4587 Azumah would NOT beat Sanchez in any rematch.
@@MrWeliz Seems you don't know Azumah really well
Azumah would have beaten any other fighter that night...his game plan was to win -not lose
I think at about the 4 or 5 round Sanchez sitting on his stool is asked something by his trainer and Sanchez with water in his mouth shrugs his shoulders then looks at his trainer and shakes his head like saying so what?, it's nothing. Sanchez hurt Nelson various times and knocked him down and out in the 15th.
Yes I've seen that fight more than 20 times, in the last 30 seconds of the 4th round Salvador got caught with a very powerful left hook to the body that would certainly put anyone out, but
Salvador took it like nothing. In the next
10 seconds Salvador caught Nelson with a right cross that made Nelson's legs shake little bit. It's my favorite fight ever.
@@fdkfskfkvmk441254741 , I was sitting pretty close during their first Nelson v. Villasana fight. Believe me that fight would've ended by knockout but Villasana didn't possess the courage to defy Nelson. Nelson was a very strong and hard puncher. Be well MXNR.
I watched this fight I was so amazed
Telasume Nelson 🤣🤣🤣🤣.... buen peleador , daba buenas peleas ... 👊🏽👊🏽 eso nadien se lo quita
You seem like a good person, just man-up and stop giving excuses; from a mouth piece to wobbly legs. YOU WERE BEATEN BY A BETTER BOXER 😃
Did you miss the part where Azumah said he was not ready that night which is why he yearned for a rematch ? Two weeks notices and a fugged up amateur cut mouth piece could easily cut you and promote getting your jaw broken.
Good fighter a lot fufu, " fufu gives you a lot of power"
Damned iv been eating fufu but i have no power. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 now seriously power is a mental thing
On a second fight , sal Sanchez would’ve KOD him sooner …
A hell of a fighter but full of excuses on why he lost to Salvador Sanchez. Keep telling yourself that Professor
We can't forget u LEGEND Azumah Nelson.. EXHIBIT GH
He still would have lost !
He did just have two weeks notice,to prepare.
@@arthurvillarreal2650 Sanchez only had two weeks to prepare for Nelson as well. Too many excuses for Nelson.
I lost a lot of respect for this guy making to many excuses. Take your lose you still had a he'll of a carrer.
Great boxer ...think he would probably have beaten Mc Guigan.
Excuses from Nelson. Why you step on a fight that you. Didn’t have but a 2 weeks notice you took the fight because you. Thought you could win if you lost you lost no excuses. The mouth piece the short notice. Cmon he beat you. That’s all he was better that’s all you the professor. But Salvador. It’s you. Master
Making excuses , oh boy respect for nelson gone .
He didn't make any excuses. He admitted he got hit and his legs were wobbly and the fight was stopped. He never said, "the fight got stopped b/c my mouthpiece was defective." Seriously.
@@jakeichordAzuma he said that he fell down "Because I was tired". He went down because he was getting his ass kicked. "The referee saw that I was tired". The referee saw that you were taking a righteous beating. Too bad for you Azuma.Patrick 777 777 I agree with you.
I know a thing that seems simple to the non boxer such as a mouthpiece cut to fit is no big deal but it is, hard to breathe when youre already tired. Fighting a guy like Sal, everything has to be 110%, SS was a beast. I dont see it as excuses, he was merely giving facts and insight. For 2 weeks notice, he went almost 15 rds lol, like thats so easy to do ....
SF
@@peacethroughstrength172 plain and simple it's excuses. And he wouldn't give Sanchez any credit in his 'best I faced' interview, not one word, and Sanchez died when Sanchez was 23. He never had a full life like Nelson has, cut way short. Maybe Nelson should think about that and the 40 odd years he's outlived Sanchez who was robbed of a life and future through that accident. Not too hard to give the deceased champ credit, but no it seems it is too hard for Nelson. Uncool in my view considering the lives of the two men and their outcomes, the life Nelson has had and the life that Sanchez didn't have.
Zuzu zuzu, you are real champion.
Effing music .
rematch u get knocked out in 8
Azuma perdio bien con Salvador. Y sigue llorando kulon.
dont give excuses you got knocked out
