“You know, when I was 15…”
You know you’re either going to jail or die if Raymond starts his monologue reminiscing
Lmfao true
@Cavelle Rogers I actually think there are actual people like Red
@@keithrobin6566 I believe..and yet don't....they could live half his life but not all what he actually did....but who knows
Exactly. I love his elaborate ironic introductions to those defining moments.
My name is Giovanni Giorgio
Nobody delivers dialogue like Spader. Nobody. A class act.
You are so right!😯
He’s one of those actors that just CANNOT seem to botch a performance lmao
Maybe Denzel Washington
@@AlexandruRobert No maybe about it😀
Plus when He talks you Like Hearing him. His voice His delivery, I never think " Damn come ON get to the Point!" with him it is actually awww its over. tell me another story.
When Red says “value loyalty above all else” I get chills. Such a great delivery.
Wish ISP's believed the same LOL
When Red starts storytelling you know the guy is gonna die
@@emmanuelsaenyi5645 fr
*flooring business-owner:* "Hey kid, he's forty-bucks."
*Red:* "VALUE LOYALTY ABOVE ALL ELSE"
Kevin Spacey is good too
If I had to summarize Reymond in one word it would be principal. He can kill multiple people and take over a whole criminal organization in one frail swoop, but when he forgets that he made an agreement with someone like the blood guy he feel genuinely terrible.
Get into business with Red and his ilk, and play at your own risk. Stay the hell away from those games, and Red won't even look in your direction-which is a good thing.
@@JnEricsonx Why, he seems to be a fair and generous guy. You don’t get greedy or treacherous and he will reward you greatly.
Fair enough but loyalty above all should be our main principal as human beings anyway 😅😅
@@need-to-know- he is a criminal case you forgor ☠️
@@mftripz8445 No, I didn’t forget that. So?
The only difference between people like him and people who are the face of so called legitimate enterprise is that the latter has been successful in changing legislation so that they can be considered legal however immoral they really are.
When Red tells a story, someone always ends up dead.
Dead or a holiday destination tip😂😂
@@maishamulaganire1993 🤣🏖️
😂😂😂😂
It's like having a live leak logo pop up in the corner of a video
You know fucked up tells a story it’s a sign
One thing I love about this scene. Red can recall things from his life with such detail that he can just rattle off stories like this with no issue. Yet he forgot the many times this guy has said he doesn't like being around for the bloody parts.
I'm pretty sure at least half his stories are just fabricated, to keep everyone guessing who he is and where he's been.
Or he just makes it up as he goes along
@@edwardling9614there’s a grain of truth in every lie
Oh, he knew. He just likes to see the theatrics.
After revealing the turn tables the guy should have maybe walked away? Excused himself?
The way he said, “Ohhhhhhh” like ‘oops i forgot that’ 😂 that’s hilarious, Red
Then he goes " give him his seat, he's gonna faint".😂😂
Give him a seat he’s going to faint!!! Priceless
"I told ya i dont like seeing the sight of the red stuff"
I love this character. I love how he goes from chilling and hard to suddenly solicitous of an employee. He’s genuinely sorry, he didn’t mean to upset him.
There are a number of times that happens in the show. For every scene Red shows how ruthless and cold he is there is another scene of sincere kindness. Another of pettiness. Another of doubt.
That’s a good character.
A great character, if you will!
Red is one of the most well-rounded characters ever written. He is characterized as a heartless monster by his enemies, and characterized as a caring and kind man by those he loves.
And he is indeed both of those things. He is a sincere, kind, caring monster. Which is why you should never get on his bad side.
@@Crowald I know a guy like him in real life. Extremely competent, honestly cares about bringing people to his level of expertise, but if you ever screw him over, even a little, he will never forgive you.
@@notcrazy6288 "Value loyalty above all else."
Raymond kept EVERYONE off balance, but kept his own until Keen died.. then at that point people got to see him at his worst...
Everything up to that point was just a teaser.
Reddington wouldn't be able to tell a bedtime story to his children because that kid would be scared shitless.
An ordinary person would love how Redd starts to tell a story in a middle of intense situation, which leads to a related morale...
A true fan will get goosebumps, for he knows Redd is about to kill !
So trueeee
The kill always begins with a story.... and I freaking love it lol.
What is the point in trying to teach a moral lesson to someone you don't believe will follow it and have already come to the conclusion that killing them is the only option?
Unless the story is for everyone else in the room, why bother? And we know it can't be for anyone else in the room, because everyone else there already has that value.
@@CrashSable I think it's more of a warning to the others. Stay loyal to me and you are rewarded do what this idiot did well you know.
@@CrashSable This is my take. Everytime he tells a story like this, if it's a monologue, it's meant for the rest of the room. To inspire loyalty (which, if you've watched the Blacklist, is often not lasting). If it's a conversation through which the story functions as a paralogue, it's to test the other person (often also regarding loyalty, since this is Reddington's character at the core).
I love how Red immediately moves in front of Niko to block the sight of his corpse.
I love how he just went ohhh when Vargas started looking pale
James Spader seems, from S1E1, like he’s been crafting and refining Reddington for years. SO. WELL. DONE.
Red is one of my favorite characters on TV. Just a stunning performance.
No matter what it's always the head tilt even playing as this guy or Ultron no matter what it's always the head tilt
Supposedly it's because he has trouble seeing without his glasses and tilting his head helps.
guy in yellow turtle neck shirt is peewee herman actor
I love Spader’s head tilt ! And his sarcasm! And his role as Reddington is the best.
Sublime performance from Paul Reubens, well done, Pee Wee! And thanks for the great childhood show. Means a lot to me. The outro song was always bittersweet.
Red is basically Alan Shore, if he ever were to cross one too many lines.
100%
Agreed
As long as you never betray Raymond reddington and you are loyal to Raymond reddington he will treat you like family but the moment you start slipping you're screwed
Which in this universe is like a flawless intelligence test. I mean what kind of moron gives up such a sweet arrangement? The thing we love about this show is the wish fulfillment. We all wish we knew someone like red who would deal fairly or better and have the power to make basically any deal you could think of.
@@Innomenwell the first time he was betrayed the enemy threaten his family. He didn't do it out of greed but to protect his family.
Yes he could have went to Red but his family might have been dead too afterward. Sadly world isn't as black and white where if you just stay loyal everything would be fine.
Ofc this guy here in this clip was just dumb and greedy XD.
Bro valued that loyalty so much that he made sure that after he forgot the guy doesn't like blood, that the guy got a seat to make sure he didn't faint. Raymond is the perfect example of leading both by fear and respect
No matter how many times i watch this scene i continue till the end of it.
James is an incredible actor.
I thought that was Paul Reubens. Through some unfortunate indiscretions he lost his career. Today he would be celebrated as a hero for those same indiscretions. I'm glad that there are those who have the balls to give him work. It says a lot more about his employers than those who cancelled him.
I think the issue was less what he was caught doing and more that he was an established entertainer of children. If Mr. Rogers had been caught in a porn theater do you think PBS would keep him around to tie his shoes and talk to puppets on camera? Still I agree that he's a treasure and I'm always happy to see him. He had a cameo as the moon in one of my favorite Tim and Eric sketches as well.
It was a porn theater and he was there by himself. Ok, he was indiscreet. If he hadn’t been a celebrity he would have been tossed out and that’s it.
Can't believe this is the same guy who played the Movie Stargate, Dr Daniel Jackson. He plays Red Brilliantly, honestly makes the show
His whole filmography is 90% astounding.
Hope you got to watch him as Alan Shore
Reddington shoots someone and seconds later ask for a seat for his friend before he faints, that’s amazing duality
“ give him his seat, he’s going to faint.” 🤣
When he discussed loyalty, he is spot on !
It's always the same case every damn time 🤣 He goes on reminiscing down the memory lane, get everyone invested into the story, & boom, someone's dead!
I've watched this show an unhealthy number of times, and it's still my favorite.
Same here
I was going to watch a Blacklist scene, and I find that the late great Paul Reubens is in this scene. He was such an underrated actor, and can find a joke anywhere.
Coming to think about it, i don't think i ever saw Reddington orders someone to kill somebody. Always does the dirty job himself or does it alongside his men. What a character.
I love how humor and life lessons are always interspersed with the serious moments in the show
it is insane that the guy in the turtle neck would go on to do what he did after witnessing first hand what raymond does to double crossers. I mean he got front row seats to the lecture
This is my favorite Red story. Also, RIP Paul Reubens.
Rest in peace Paul
One thing I love about the show is that it portrays characters capable of some real shit, but gives them some properties that make the scene hilarious. Like the blood-fainting fellow. Or the torturer with the oxygen mask and ridiculous/hilarious requirements to do his job. Or Mr. Kaplan, such a nice mature business secretary who recognizes enemy from FBI at a glance at their weapons a kills right away.
man robert california really has gone off the deep end
It’s these scenes that make me believe he’s the real reddington. The way the stories are told alongside colleagues of his giving commentary and his genuine response to how they feel
Respect and loyalty are the ultimate currency, difficult to obtain yet easy to lose.
Red has lived about 6023 parallel lives. At 15 he did about 250 jobs in 49 different countries. 'Ah yes, that was a night. The beach with Svetlana and the Gambino sisters. And was that an egg plant you were carrying? Ha ha ha I miss the sisters.' 🎉
Ha ha, so true lol
That's a big exaggeration. He often pulls out some story from the past, that's true, but it's not so often it would be impossible to happen.
Watched this entire show twice and its still my fav
"Value loyalty above all else" and immedietly lives up to those words by making someone loyal to him more comfortable after witnissing something violent
I’m so glad I decided to give this show a watch. This show had me hooked within the first few minutes of S1E1. I’m in the middle of season 6 and what a ride it’s been!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Me and you both. I’m not a fan of series, but this one is one hell of a series
Same here. Hooked right from the start. Sad it’s over.
He criminally underrated as an actor..
Ironically, the guy who doesn't like blood, ends up turning on Red. Twisted turn of events.
I shudder to think that there is anyone in the world this clinical at criminality. This is not even gangster. This man is the epitome of evil, such grace such !!! Aaah I'm at a loss for words😊
James Spader always plays such awesome complex and interesting bad dudes (robert california, Ultron, list goes on).
"Give him a seat..." loyalty goes both ways with Red.
Looking out for his people whenever he can.
"Huh? Wha?? What'd I miss? Oh hey guys. Denny Crane."
James tells this story in one of his interviews too. That he had a pickup and used to haul off old carpets and bits of torn down houses.
Red: (tells a story)
Also Red: "And if you heard it, that meant your ass."
Waiting for the short clips of all reddington best quotes.
Value loyalty....above all else. Words to live by
"Oh" (slaps his forehead) -- "I buried the lede". Classic.
James Spader is a tremendous actor, his delivery is priceless.
He knows how to take his time. That’s everything.
"He was also gravely ill and in desperate need of a heart transpla-he died this morning"
I clicked on this not knowing what to expect and was surprised to see Paul Reubens playing a cold blooded henchman and thought "That's definitely casting against type".
Then I get to the punchline and think "Ah, there it is".😄
This and his death scene in the Buffy movie are why I love Paul Reubens as an actor
Imagine, a hit man who loses it when he sees blood, lol!
Spader is incredible, simply incredible!
can't believe this show has gone on as long as it has
Craziest Episode of Pee Wee's Playhouse ever.
I love how he goes 'ooooh' and tries to shield the body from view!
I hope this show will continue. A+
New season starts on Feb 26. - however they have said this will be the final season.
What a show, Spader was born for a lot of roles he fits this like Shatner did Kirk born for it. 👏👏👏🍾🥂
What's ironic is that William Shatner wasn't the original choice to play Captain Kirk (back in 1965 he wasn't that big a star). They actually wanted Jack Lord, but he wanted too much money and control.
@@jamesrawlins735 thanks 🍻
Red trying to block the sight of the blood. 😂
This was great!
Been watching the show for years but this throw back made me realise Red is way older now
Golden Rule. My favourite (Red Monologue) scene.
This series is damn good
i can listen to him all day
No wonder Robert California got where he got. He really convinces everyone.
The black list and Boston Legal are the 2 shows I love seeing Spader in. Great actor and funny as both characters, attorney and cold-blooded criminal genius. Give him his trophies and flowers. 👏🏾👏🏾💐💐🏆🏆
I could spend months enjoyoying Raymond's Annecdotes, being a world traveler myself.... Ducky from NCIS as well.
I live in the town of Charlevoix, I loved hearing some of the references to our area in some of the episodes.
Best storyteller on tv
I absolutely love this show
There is only one man who is a greater actor than Spader, and he shares the screen with him. Paul Reubens, the genius who created and embodied Pee Wee Herman, is riveting as Mr. Vargas.
Ummm.....no.
AND OUT OF NO WHERE ... PEE WEE HERMAN! CLASSIC CASTING
One thing about Red, he wont torture u... painless death unlike Cersei. That's why he's the GOAT!
Unless he wants information from you. Then Brimley comes in.
_"You know, when I was-..."_
yeah. ure fcked up
paul Reubens what a scene stealer lol
I loved Raymond red one of the best shows ever made can't believe it ended the way it did so sad
You’re the best James Spader , a world class actor ❤️❤️❤️♠️
I just LOVE this character SO BAD !!!
The greatest tv show all the time 💓💓
You can never tell how Redd is feeling
You can when he gets that twitch in his face. Means he’s pissed off.
@@attheranch873 except Glen the jellybean he's the only who can pissed red off & get away with it
Loyalty is beyond valuable because it exists where it exists on it’s own terms and can not always be certain to exist even though it can be cultivated in those capable of loyalty.
Favorite part is when he goes 'Oh....." and moves infront of the body.
Pual Reubens killed me with that last part.
the best bit is just after he shoots the guy and the byplay between him and the other dude 🤣
Funny at the end...Red cared about his men fainting...
I want to see a series showing Raymond growing his massive empire
Season 4 does a good job of that, but it’s him rebuilding his empire
Reddington is like Hannibal Lecter, but he doesnt eat people. But he has all the genius and fine grained perception of people and the ability to play on multiple levels at the same time.
Thats not a man that you ever get on your bad side, and as you saw, you always stand by your word, or else lol.
That guy is clearly in the wrong line of work.
I would like to see a show where James Spader sitting in a chair alone and telling stories from Reddington's life. No other person necessary..no CGI, no special effects, not a goddamn thing apart from him and a comfy chair
"Value loyalty above all else"
When red says "i had a friend..."
My Favorite episode!!
Vargas really should have paid more attention here... when Red takes someone to school its wise to listen...or one day you'll wish you had.
Value loyalty above all else
What a legend
He could be talking about trash, I would still listen to all of it
