    Reminds me: Way back in the day, I was messing with McCulloch 101b Go Kart engine, oh boy, with a double pumper alky carb. Sweet dreams, man! Anywho's I rebuilt it, wouldn't fire, took it down, put it back, wouldn't fire. So, one day I talk to the "man." and old dude who was a small engine god. So I, tell him the story... he says, "bad plug." I go, okay, thought he was smokin" but I bought me a new spark plug... fired first pull. Oh, boy, did I have my tail between my legs for a time.

    John, spend a few more dollars and purchase a Phantom 85. You will absolutely love it. They have worked out the piston bearing problem, and taken care of the ring snagging problem. Phantom engine and a 36t rear sprocket, 50mph.

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před rokem

      Yes I heard they did but I would rather build my own, you know I love to tinker and play. Either way this motor after the port work has no problem riding at 54 max speed but can cruise comfy at 44mph for a while but I literally just cruise around at quarter throttle at 30 mph. So this was half the price and has a steel sleeve and will last much longer then a aluminum chrome or nicacil lined cylinder. But you definitely know I gotta make the phantom too cause I want to see what all the hype is about, I’m just goin to build it myself.

      Well if you ever want help doin the port work or just want me to build one for you let me know, I’m always down to just help out or even straight up build one and send it to you after. The cost of the v3 phantom is like 300 so you can spend that on the 110 and it will be same power if not more and has steel sleeve reliability and all around just a better motor after I get done with it. But even if you wanted to do it all I have numbers for it and will help Howe I can. Sry about the new motor but I’m a firm believer that when something sounds to good to be true (especially after three versions) then it probably is and it’s worth having a guy that builds them just build one from ground up instead of relying on the lil kids in China or India to build it right. Good luck brother and I REALLY hope you post some pics in our group for everyone to see.

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před rokem +1

      It really is, I towed the mule home two nights ago with my tools and bag and everything else and the motor blew on the Myles so the compression was really low and about half way home I noticed I was accelerating a lil slower and goin up hills a lil slower and when I got home I realized the clutch engaged on the Mule and the new bike has so much power I didn’t even realize the Mules clutch engaged cause I was still doin 35 with me my bike the trailer with tools my back pack the mule with it’s motor and everything. This new bike with the cdh110 is a monster and I only ported it mildly for reliability. I have an110 cylinder and piston and I think I’m going to port it too and make it really spicy just for fun cause I’m curious what I can push it to with a lil more porting and maybe even a Reed. On it and a carb. Idk but i been thinking about it a lot the past couple days cause it keeps impressing me.

    • @grendelsgarage9723
      @grendelsgarage9723 Před rokem

      @Johnnie’s Motorized Bicycles brother, the hole is endless. Sounds like you're going to give her the old one two hock and trick her out! 😉. The motor kits keep getting better, and with guys like you teaching us (and all the sad time), this hobby is going places! Same carb?? Or are you thinking something else. 🤔 I'm still learning the power of the old NT carb. Just posted today on La Lechuza. Put a #68 pilot jet in her, and wow, much better.

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před rokem +1

      Yea depending on the port map is what will determine the carb you “need”. Like for instance I’m having trouble being lean on my new motor but only at idle or just off idle but at cruising speed it fine and at higher rpm it fat. So it’s all messed up but the nt carb I’m running is great but I think my motor is to free flowing for this carb so I’ll be switching to a ooo or something like that so I can get separate idle circlets and mid range tuning abilities but since I think I’m goin to do that I’m also thinking I might just put a Reed on too and have a lil extra fun

    @williamdooly4111 Před rokem +1

    I’ve got the anbull 100cc motor and love the power it makes was wondering if trouble think it would pull good with a 32 tooth sprocket I did do some light porting just to clean everything up

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před rokem

      Well I never had an anabull motor yet but I’m sure with proper porting it will pull really well. They are a one piece cylinder design which I really like over the two piece cylinder head design. But anyway just cleaning up the ports will give you smoother operation but if you really want some pulling power you’ll need to really open up the ports. Now since I never had one of them I can’t give you a ball park on how many millimeters you need to move the ports. If you have a degree wheel or just make a free one by printing one out at the library I can give you exact numbers to grind to. Using a degree wheel is very easy it just takes time to understand it but once you see it in it’s simple. Either way with most motors it’s safe bet to just lower the intake about 1.5mm and raise the exhaust 2mm but it’s hard to say it be safe without ever seeing an anabull in person. I mean I’m always down to do the work if you send it to me just so I can see one and try it out in a bike for a day and make sure the new port duration works well.

      Yes, twice I did once it was me and Heather at about 2:30 in the morning and we were definitely speeding. We were doing about 30 miles an hour in a 25 and the cops pulled us over gave us a warning there’s no one else on the road we were just having fun racing down a hill on the first started doing this before the channel, and second time was I made an illegal U-turn in the Walmart parking lot, which is right where the manville police and the cops on me. I was completely safe and in no way I was not to mention I’m on a bicycle. But he followed me into the QuickChek parking lot across the street to harass me, but ended up a bit and just keep on warning because I can’t get on with rolled icing. Seriously you saw where I turned around I just missed my turn, and I have a come in here and turn around and I didn’t where there was nobody else around me. It’s not like I’m in the car. Can you let me go that’s it I usually just always follow the speed limit in traffic laws.

    It seems the Cdh110 is kind of hit or miss on what you're going to get? Nice 2nd build cool bike! My question is do you think the cdh110 is worth all the porting and spec work?

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před 4 měsíci

      Imo it’s not at all hit or miss because you know exactly what your going to get, and your going to to get a turd. That turd will be either dry and steamy or liquified and steamy but either way it’s a turd. And as far as is it worth the work INE MILLION PERCENT, if your want a daily and by daily I mean so you get on and ride 1 to 50 miles at a clip one way any day or everyday of the week and not have to worry about it or if your pushing it to hard then this is the motor. I ride a lot and I’m very hard on them and sit on WOT for wayyyyy longer then anyone should (for instance I went to the mailbox and it’s a 35ish min trip one way about a hour n a half both ways, and I went there and back and inside to get the mail in 40 minutes; that’s only 5 ish minutes longer then if I drive a car there n back). Now mind you I don’t have mine at the edge of life and I ported it to be conservative so it be a great daily, but as is, a conservative port job it has more power and torque then any other motor I have ever had on my dailies and at this point has as many miles as my last longest running motor to date without any motor issues. I have yet to push one of these cdh110 motors to its max for power with stock parts but I have definitely pushed it to its max for a daily motor for one of these bikes and it hasn’t let me down yet. I think you can get similar reliability from a 49mm iron sleeve motor too with similar mods (which for the record is the previous longest running motor I had) but the simple size difference with this having a 52mm piston and bore gives so much more low end torque it’s almost comical. I pull a trailer a lot and run a 38t sprocket and I have 29” tall tires and I weigh a lot and I can still pull up a hill from a slow roll with no problems. Now it’s not blistering fast but I built it to be like that, you can’t have all the power and all the reliability cause it doesn’t work like that, it’s one or the other when it comes to doing it with all stock parts.
      So if your on the fence about getting one I say definitely get one they are amazing smooth running lil torque monsters for a daily. BUT if your keeping it stock you will be very disappointed and you shouldn’t get one and leave it stock. Either get it and fix it yourself or have me or even another builder fix it up to be great, but remember imo when it come to reliable daily motors I don’t know of anyone that has more daily reliability then me and my motors cause I came up with my blueprint out of necessity cause this is all I have to drive right now and I need it to just work. But you can do it yourself with just watching my videos and asking any questions along the way too.

    Is this the same as bottom end as a phantom?

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před 5 měsíci

      No, actually it’s fully this motor gets so much flack cause they made their own bespoke bottom end and cylinder. Yes it’s not put together well and that’s a real shame so much care was left out in the actual assembly cause it easily has everything needed to be the best stock motor out there. It has the best case or bottom end I have seen on any motor. The yd100 by Olyin is the same for the LD100, YD100, phantom 85, and the Average 85. Granted sharing parts allows for tested parts and stuff but at the same time your now basing your new cylinder design with certain constraints before you even decide on port heights or size, so that’s a big downfall in my eyes. Unlike cdh110 which is all bespoke to itself and much beefier then any of the other brands out there. It would be my choice for a bottom end on any of the chainsaw hybrids by far cause the case is thicker in the exact place you want it to be to build a case reed motor from a stock case. Either way I’m a huge fan of the cdh110 over any other motor out there as long as your planning on making it better and putt it together the way it should have been from the factory. Unfortunately it’s not and because of that it was shot down by everyone that wants to just by a motor and slap it on out the box. Which obviously should be how every motor should be but only a few really are good like that and since it’s a big motor 52mm bore like the phantom and the avenger it gets put into the same ideas of power, which I can’t blame people for thinking as it should but if you do a few small things like I do and port it and clean it up and just build it right I would put it up against any of those motors and if you port all three to the top of they ability’s I think it would last much longer because it’s more solid and in an endurance race I think it would win by far but in short bursts I think the other two would win each time just because they are all aluminum with chrome lining and they rev fast do to the way the cylinder wall surfaces are plus a few other things. But I’m all about the longevity of these motors and that’s why it’s my pick and recommendation to anyone that wants power and reliability for a daily.

    Hows this motor holding up?

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před 7 měsíci

      It’s great, I literally haven’t had an issue since I built it and by this point I have somewhere like 8,000 miles by now. It would be more but I been riding Tweaker a lot more lately since I did the face lift and new rack, and a bunch more stuff but this bike is definitely my daily and I ride it hard and put it away wet. Just gotta warm it up good at start up since it’s an iron sleeve and then just rip it. I kid you not but over the summer I took it on a rip to my mailbox which is normally a 40ish minute trip one way and same back but I held it wide open after it warmed up and I went there and back and went in and got my mail and made it back home I 47ish minutes. I was flying and the motor didn’t skip a beat. Now that’s cause it’s a good motor cause the base I started with is super solid but also cause I ported it well and fixed the oiling issues. All easy to do but a must for this motor to make power like mine is and be reliable like mine is. I heard others have had much less luck but they didn’t do what I do.

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před 10 měsíci

      I don’t have a website yet, but I’m planning on make/getting one very soon. Hopefully by the beginning of next year I’ll be a hundred percent legit and taking orders officially to build motors for people. Why are you asking, did you want a daily motor built? Motors for bikes riden daily hard are what I do for most part but that’s not to say I can’t build one made for bigger power but since I ride all the time I have put most my energy into build very reliable motors for dailies and make sure they can sit at higher rpms (9k ish after breakin) and have good top end power but are a lil weaker from a dig bit really wake up around 10+ mph. Cause I find when I make the motors really PULL hard from a dig they always wear out faster or usually blow out the bearings very fast. If you want dig power n high revs and big top power then you need a lot of custom stuff and I like to use all stock parts so it’s easy and cheap to fix but honestly most of my motors don’t need to be fixed and if they do it’s cause they have 15k + miles on them and they just need all the bearing replaced .

    • @JMB676
      @JMB676  Před rokem +1

      Hey brother absolutely, I personally love the loud exhaust cause of the power gains but hate riding around loud everywhere everyday. So there’s a couple options I find to work well. One and best option fo power is my current set up with an expansion chamber with a silencer, it has great power but it’s quiet enough to ride everyday. But it is much louder then a stock exhaust but like I said not bad at all. Next option is probably my favorite for easy simplicity for just a everyday rider, now you don’t get the power but you do get the sound and usually it offers a small amount of low end power. And the pipe is usually referred to as a banana pipe with a built in silencer on it all welded together, the silencer it about half the size of a stock pipe but the banana shape part is about same length so overall it’s maybe four inches longer in total the s stock pipe. It’s got the same quietness of a stock pipe but with a more pronounced pop from the engine so your still really quiet but just more distinguished if that makes set. Then the next is just take a stock pipe and drill two quarter inch holes in the cap. It’s cheapest by far (as long as you have access to a drill n bits) but it also usually looses power, you might gain some in bottom end but usually loose a good bit on rpm and top speed. Then another option is what I did to make stock exhaust on my “sleeper build” I made a whole video on it but basically I took it completely apart and took all the insides out. I def lost too end but that wasn’t the concern at the time cause I just needed it to breath better and I was limited on tools n options and I did it all with hand tools and patience lol. Now that exhaust is pretty loud and probably the second loudest outta the bunch I mentioned. Anyway there’s a lot of options and all I mentioned are definitely on the cheapest ways to go about it all. Hope this helps and if you need more then just hit me up on messenger so it’s easier to talk n stufff.

      The wheels I run are by far the best wheels I have ever run. I’m very heavy and I tow a lot of weight in my trailers plus I ride a lot easy 20k a year no bs. But there’s a bunch of dif types out there and I used the 5 spoke n they broke in literally one minute if not quicker, I have set of the ten spoke and they are ok and def stronger then the 5 spoke but nothing close to my three spoke. I personally love mag wheels I think the look is just awesome. Now I lean in turns but nuttin crazy but I’ll take a turn at 30-35 all day but I wouldn’t recommend them for racing cause I don’t know how they would far on a track with drastic quick movement back n forth with a lot of side pressure but for normal or in my case extreme day to day use I think the three spoke like mine are easily best choice even over 11g spoke wheels cause they never need to be trued. Now if your lighter you could probably lean even more on turns but between me n my bike n backpack it’s easily 375ish lbs. on the rims at all time during a ride. Mind you compared to stock wheels which I can break in one ride with how I ride or one trailer flip I’ll never buy anything else then the 3 spoke unless they come out with a way stronger 5 or dif design. I recommend them if your lookin. I have them on two bikes one 26” and this bike is 29”/700c
